Glad to be connected

Happy I was referred to this site. Hope to talk to all and be able to let my true feelings known. Besides my health problems I lost my husband a year ago and that has really added to my moods. We were married 45 years. He helped me with everything that I needed without a complaint. Now it is hard to get a lot of things done by myself. I have two grown children, one lives in Kentucky and the other has her own business and is very involved. They help a lot when they can. But miss the partner that is always there when needed. I guess everyone has heard enough of my problems. Hoping to talk again. Joyce

Welcome to Neurotalk, Joyce. :)

You could be telling my life My Hubby o 35yrs, died in 2004, so I understand what you're saying. My Kids are wonderful, but I still miss John, like it was yesterday and probably always will. He was a Gem and I loved him.

I hope you enjoy it here.

Hello Joyce
Welcome to our family. I'm sorry for your loss and hope you are taking each day as it comes.

Once you've pulled up that chair AMN suggested. Tell us a bit more about you and what brought you to us.

Hugs

Today is brighter

It lifted my spirits to read your replys. I was on the computer the other day and looking up about Gluten and I still don't know how or what I did to come across this site. I am a novice withe the computer. My family talked me into getting one, thinking it would help me get out into the world. They were right. I am so happy that I now have people to talk to that really knows how I feel with the problems of my health and loss. Besides the MS I also have fibro and spinal stenosis and the usual problems of getting older. I live in New Jersey. I am 64 but still so very young at Heart and Spirit when I have my good days. I still am not sure how to connect to all the sites or understand all the symbols and words , hope to learn in time. Thanks for listening to me. Joyce

Hi ya Joyce!

Here you can have my chair. It is nice and padded.

(some people are so rude around here)

Here hon have some chocolates too!

(slaps AMN's hand.)

Not you! They are for the newbie!

Snoopy 10-24-2007 06:03 PM

Hello Joyce, I'm glad you decided to join us.

I will leave the chair antics to the 3, 4, 5, ? stooges as they seem to have it under control.....if you call what they do control  :p :D

(taking cover.....)

Judy2 10-24-2007 06:23 PM

Hi Joyce and Welcome!!!! Glad you found us! I'm so sorry about your loss of hubby. I do know about living alone, but mine was because of divorce 18 years ago. Wow, I didn't think it had been that long -- time flies! I too just turned 64 on the 17th of this month. Can't believe that either!!!

We have quite a few things in common. Fibromyalgia is also a daily struggle for me along with the MS which is now secondary progressive. How about you? I use a powerchair all the time but can at least transfer to a regular chair, bed, etc., here at home.

Oh yes, one more thing -- I grew up and lived in NJ until 1972 when we moved here to PA. Hope to hear more from you as the days go by. Good luck with your computer!!

Take care.......:)

Be careful that one of those stooges doesn't take back that chair, or worse yet, cuts one of the legs short!

My best friend lives in Harrisburg, PA...

(PS, Taffy doesn't share her chocolates!)

Smack*

Don't listen to her. The paint fumes have gone to her brain and kill her last remaining brain cell.

I DO SHARE

(sometimes!)

Uh-oh! Too late! You do breath in the paint smell when you paint don't you? That's half the fun of painting. I suppose you wear a mask or buy paint that doesn't smell or ventilate you room well.

Now where were we?

doydie 10-24-2007 11:02 PM

I will add my welcome to the list! So sorry about your loss of your dear partner. My parents wetre married 56 years when my Dad died. My Mom is still going strong. My name is Joyce! My name here is Doydie 'cause I was called Joycie as a kid and my younger brothers couldn't say it so they called me Doydie. My oldest daughter lives in Lexington, Ky so my car heads down there as often as I can.

I was pretty computer illiterate before MS but it opens up a whole new world. I still consider myself a 'newbie' though when it comes to this computer. I put in many distress calls to my daughter here in town.

Bad Day

Hi everyone thanks for all your replies. It was not a good day for me. My body aches were bad. It has been raining for two days and it is cold and damp and that always makes things worse. The medicine did help. Enough of that. TAFFY thanks for the chocolate. I am addicted to chocolate. So sorry JUDY for the loss of your dog. I know how you feel. I had 3 wonderful dogs . One was especially attached to me. When I was DX with MS she seemed to know and just never left my side. I wrote a poem about her and have that and her picture in a frame hanging on the wall. SALLY the loss we share is one that cannot be put into words. I feel that Donald is around me everyday and there are times I seem to forget that he is gone and I am waiting for him to come home. Getting tired. Going to go and rest now. Bye everyone. Joyce

SallyC 10-25-2007 10:23 PM

So sorry you had a bad MS day, Joyce.:( I hope a good nights rest is all you need and, of course, for the rains to go away. I always ache more when it rains too.

I hope it doesn't mean we are getting old.:D I already know the answer to that question. I'm a few years older than you...LOL!

Feel better..

Snoopy 10-26-2007 05:31 AM

Hoping today is a better day for you Joyce

Jappy 10-27-2007 11:16 AM

Better today

Hi everyone today is a little better. The weather is still raining. That is 5 days straight in a row. I shouldn't complain about it when those poor people in Calif. are burning. I wish some of this rain would go their way. How is everyone today. Sally has your sister heard anything yet. I have a cousin that has MS that is the closest family member that has the horrible creature invading her body. Will someone please tell me how to add the smilies to the areas that you would want them. I am confused with all the different things that you girls have on your replys. They are great and make me laugh. Hope everyone has a good day. Bye for now.
