There cute
I wish we could of wore them to schoool when i was a kid. Skirts and very cold legs. I still think part of my problem was frostbite. Thanks Sue

I use these up North (when it is cold)
and here during the winter. They are impossible to find locally, anymore.
I found them really affordable-- 4 pair for the price of one from Ebay compared from that website for one pair. They are plain black...no fancy dancy styles. I just need them in bed since I kick my feet out from under the covers. They keep my feet pretty warm without socks. I cannot stand socks in bed! However, the burning of my feet is so much better now! I will still be using the leg warmers. My bedroom floor is not over the house, (2nd floor) so it gets cool in the winter. I prefer to sleep cool, but my feet get cold without the leg warmers. We live in a very old house built in 1915! Kohl's and Target typically have one or two pair each fall, but by now they will be gone. I had a great deal from EBAY! This is the seller I bought from, this new item is even $1 cheaper! http://cgi.ebay.com/4-PR-LADIES-ASST...QQcmdZViewItem She ships fast too. |
Thanks for this great site! I think I'm going to order some because I have such terrible leg aches from the cold weather.
|
Ohhhh! Thanks for this!!!
My hands tend to get so cold in the winter when I have to type a lot. They have fingerless gloves! :D
That is such a cool site! I'm bookmarking it for when I actually have little money left over some month. :p |
Ooooh! Fingerless cotton gloves that go up to the elbow! I've been looking for something I can wear while typing as my hands hurt so badly when cold (stupid Raynaud's).
I'm not relishing my second winter in South Dakota. Last year it got down to -20 degrees! Actually had to wear long undies while INSIDE the house. There's also a lot of stuff on the Sock Dream site my hubby might like me to wear. :D Thanks for the link. fanfaire  |

I can relate to the South Dakota temps. I grew up in Ashland Wi. Right on Lake Superior and it's gets *cold*!!!! Currently I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains in SW Virginia and our winters are fairly cold. Nothing like up North but certainly much colder than most Northerners realise it gets here. Brrrrr! |
I actually still have mine from the 80's when they were so popular and recently pulled them out to start using again. Funny how things do come back and after all these years I need them now more than ever before. Thanks for the site.

Leg Warmers
Just was looking on ebay for certain style of socks and found a bunch of ebay stores and ebay express that have lots of leg warmers.... Mrs D - I know you found some there too! There were lots!!!! Maybe give it a shot?

Jarrett I'm very sensitive to cold. Even at 50 degrees I go numb. Anyhow have you seen toe warmers? They help so much. My mom got me them at a sporting store but I think even Walmart has them. You put them on the bottom of your socks and keep you toasty for 8 hours.

I have a question about Toe Socks
Look at these:
http://www.sock-dreams.com/_shop/pag...egoryID_91.php They sell these near my home. I took a look at toe socks and I said to myself: "Why would someone wear these when they could wear plain old socks"?? And I couldn't answer my own question. So someone please tell me the benefits (or not) of wearing toe socks vs regular socks. Thanks much. Melody |
Whoa!!!
Toe socks = torture chamber for me
These were very popular when I was a kid.... I think they are a "kid" thing. Mine had different colored toes, in fact. I just bought 4 pair leg warmers a couple of weeks ago from that link I put in above. The prices are far lower, but the styles more limited than the retail links. I paid 10.99 for 4 pr with 4.00 shipping. |
Here are some more
I have the red 'convertables' but find them a bit bulky.
http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban...d=W_ACC_GLOVES Target has some fingertip-less ones right now and some arm warmers as well for about $10. They are going very fast rite now tho. People are really doing what seems like panic holiday shopping now? - j |
Needed these so badly
Thanks Dahlek!!
One of the things that Sjogren's and autoimmune neuropathy has given me is less of a fat pad on fingers. They freeze and crack. I looked for these gloves all last year and you have given me so much to choose from. Thanks so much. Glad to see you back :) Billye |

I wear the fingerless gloves as well, since I when to visit my son in
MN. main headquarters of Target..Wellll they ar ebig sellers at the good old Mo. store. We don't get a lot of cold, but it's easy for the college kid's to use them...Now my MN. son never,i mean never could stand his fingers covered and still can't loves them. And they do go up your arms..Hugs to all Sue |
You all who live up north have more access in stores for warm clothing articles, like fingerless gloves and leg warmers than we do here in the south. They just don't carry the same stuff here. But it still gets cold enough here for me to need exrra help, what with my neuropathy! Thank goodness for the internet!

Dakota I agree. I'm in Ca now but even when its cooler I need to be protected.
I have never seen those toe socks like that. No thank you. The toe warmers that you put on the bottom of your sock helps me but then they start to bother me after awhile. When my feet go numb it really starts to hurt all the way up the leg. We should come up with are own clothing line. |
Ah, that would be divine. Everything warm and loose, and of the softest fabric possible. Soft loose socks, and wide shoes with cushy soles.
