Taffy does Cabela's! That's right!

So...I took a day off from work, it was legal, and went to Nappy's favorite store.

That's right! (Someone get her a paper bag), Cabela's, the World's Foremost Outfitter Store, opened close to my little town.

Anyhoo, now I know why she likes it so much! This one greets you with a yellow plane hanging from the ceiling. Hey, FG! What are you doing up there? A huge mountain with a running stream and stocked with native fish and stuffed animals of all sorts. They have laser guns, man the list goes on....oh yeah, they sell stuff too, clothes, fishing poles.....

But you know what the store was full of?

You know what I think Nappy goes for?

Not fishing poles, or lures, nor waders.............

Men. Yep. That's right. There was lots and lots of men!

Which has me believing that she hangs out at this store for a reason and one reason only! Nappy you are busted! :D

tovaxin_lab_rat 11-21-2007 07:25 PM

That's my airplane! Our hangar is being renovated and they offered us free rent for the winter! LOL!

Just kidding!

Isn't CABELA'S just the coolest place in the world!

Did you find the candy shop????? They make their own fudge...:winky:

Oh! Lots to look at! Next time when I have DH with me, split and divide! I could not believe how many people where there. This was during the week. Doesn't any body work?

That's what I say when I am out and about during the week! Today was horrible! Dodging people everywhere.

Lots of stuff to do and see and Cabela's. Do they have the big aquarium there? They have two at ours - a fresh water one and a salt water one. Way cool! ;)

AfterMyNap 11-21-2007 08:25 PM

'Tis a spiritual experience, indeed. Ours is huge and to do it right, you really must plan a sleep over. I've tried hiding in a tent but they bust me every time. Must be the odor from test-driving the MSR stoves and MountianWear food. I just don't know.

Yes, FG we have an walk thru aquarium. Way cool!

Oh yeah! I was thinking sleep over myself. I was thinking of hiding in one of the big boats they had in side. I think I could find a hiding place there or somewhere on the mountain, like behind the moose. Yeah! I am sure someone will try it!

Alright, no mountain! How about a huge duffel bag? Climb inside...zip it shut...over in a corner and hope I don't have to go to the bathroom!:D That has potential!

DM 11-29-2007 09:27 AM

WOW Tippy!!! DO they have a pocketbook or jewelry section??? :D:D

Taffy 12-22-2007 11:59 AM

The whole family is home for Christmas, so how fun to entertain them by going to Cabela's!

:yikes::yikes::yikes:

The rock climber had to check out the mountain for gripes and was trying to climb it! (slapping forehead)

Cut-outs of deer and bear went prancing across the store!
(slapping forehead)

At the shooting arcade, they made sure that I got shot with water, several times! (slapping forehead)

I had to look at every single gun and hear all the good and bad points about them. (slapping forehead)

Then they found the hand puppets and had puppet wars!
(slapping forehead)

Thinking back...I had left them alone for awhile!
(slapping forehead)

My local Cabela's may never be the same again!:o

AfterMyNap 12-22-2007 01:15 PM

Dangit! Wish I were there!

tovaxin_lab_rat 12-22-2007 02:01 PM

Gee Taffy, sounds like you had a great time at Cabela's.

A good friend of mine works at the store here in Boise and he says it's a hoot working there. Watching all the "big kids" playing with all the cool stuff.

Does your forehead hurt?

(mine does but not from slapping it!)

He's addicted to Cabela's now too. He spent most of his last paycheck on a compound bow. I'm thinking of getting him a box of carbon arrows for it for his Xmas present.

I wont see him till after Xmas, so I havent bought his present yet.

Northeast Ohio (Brunswick) is getting a Cabela's soon. I've heard such wonderful stories from you all, I can hardly wait.

Maybe I'll live in mine like AMN is in hers. :D It would be like being outdoors without the icky bugs and perfect temps all year round to boot.

It's supposed to be a huge tourist attraction. It sounds more fun then the rolle costers at Cedar Point or the whatever that King's Island has.

Yay!! boyfriend took me to Cabela's!

Tonight my boyfriend called and asked if I wanted to go shopping at Cabela's with him and his roommate.

Naturally, I said YES!!!!!!!!

So, we're walking around in Cabela's, looking for stuff for him to get his family, and he was looking in one of the jewelry cases that has all the Black Hills Gold jewelry.

He turned to me, and told me to look in the cases, and see if there was anything I liked. Told me to not worry about the cost. So, I looked, saw a few things but wasnt sure. We walked around for another hour, and then I decided to go look at shoes, and to look at Buck knives to see if there was anything exciting for me to buy for him at the knife counter. I walked past the jewelry cases again, and decided to look some more. Saw a nice pendant, asked the kid manning the cases how much it was.

I figured it was too much ($60) and so I decided that I was going to tell him to not worry about it. He caught up with me again, and we did another lap around the store, ended back up at the jewelry cases because he was looking for a charm to give his niece.

He asked me if there was anything I liked. I tried to tell him stuff was too expensive. He still asked me to point out what piece I liked. So, I showed him the pendant, it's called a 12 Leaf Circle of Life. (it's a circle made of silver, with 12 Black Hills Gold leaves going around the circle) He saw how much it was, and then apparently did the math in his head to see what his Cabela's discount would give him, and told the kid that he'd take it.

So, I got a really really really nice piece of jewelry, and he only went $5 over the $30 budget we've been kind of unofficially sticking to when buying Christmas presents. Ohmygosh, I really really really really really really love this pendant. I think this is going to be my favorite present that I get this year.

I only have one other piece of Black Hills Gold that I bought for myself when we went to the Black Hills last spring. I'm totally excited about this pendant, it's got to be one of the nicest pieces of jewelry anyone has ever bought me.

Cabela's is totally cool. (and I guess, so is my boyfriend :D )

That was my Christmas 2000...spent most of it in the ER and then was DX shortly after New Years 2001.

Enjoy!

I don't have a Cabela's near me. Waaaaaaaaa!! They are building one in Greenville, near Indianapolis, Ind. soon....that's about 100 miles from me.

I did go to their site and take a video tour of a Cabela's store, though...Sheesh...Super!!!

Enjoy!

I spent late summer, all of the fall, and the rest of the winter and spring with optic neuritis in my left eye. About 2 weeks before christmas, my feet were numb, tingling, cold and HOT! at the same tmie, and they felt like I had thumbtack filled boots on. Went to my regular doctor for that, and he ordered an MRI.

That MRI didnt really work, because they couldnt get the contrast in (stupid nurse at the doctor's office blew my only good vein the day before drawing blood) so, I had that first MRI a few days before Christmas, and the second MRI about 3 days after.

The first MRI showed "something", and the second MRI confirmed "something" was there. Two lesions, one at T12, and the other one at C4 (C4 scares me!)

This year, I've just got some weird ON symptoms in my right eye (silly me, I accepted the ORAL prednisone from my regular doctor last summer when I had serious vertigo...totally forgot all about the ONTT) The ON symptoms I have in the right eye this year dont seem near as bad as the other eye last year. I mostly only notice those after a shower.

I'm trying to decide now what color t-shirt to wear with my new pendant...and what chain to wear with it. I have a silver chain, and a gold chain, and I cant decide which one looks the best with it.

I cant wait till new years now, that's the next time boyfriend and I get to go out together. *happy dance* :D

I never thought I'd get a boyfriend (I was 36 when I met him) and I was totally shocked to realize just how cool he is. I never thought I'd get a really truly nice boyfriend. His mom must have taught him well when she was teaching him manners. He's so sweet...and his mom is totally cool too.
