Cheryl decided to take a trip. Where shall I go, she says? Well, some people from another ms forum were having a get together in Boston. Hmmm she says, I know some really nice people in Boston...and some from Maine. Ah, let's go to Boston.

Off she goes. Some of you may remember mbsews? Mary is a good friend of mine and I am staying with her. She picked me up at the airport and we have been galavanting around the area.

Riverwild and Yeahbut picked us up and off we went to the "New England Get Together" in Worcester. There was only supposed to be "one" surprise guest, but there ended being "two" I was the other one that only a couple of people knew about! LOL! We had a great time and really livened up the party!

This is Riverwild (the tall one!), mbsews (Mary) on the left, Yeahbut in the middle and me on the right!

Sounds like you had a great time and met new and existing friends.

Are you the reason the Celtics are doing so well up there?;)

Geez I hope not! I am from Portland, OR - a diehard Trailblazer fan! ;)

Yes, Craig, I am having a great time with my friend Mary, and it was wonderful meeting the people I have known online for such a long time. :)

Our leetle Av8rgirl's hair looked just wonderful. We kidnapped her and Twinkletoes from MBSew's house and she remained cool and calm and collected!

Taffy 12-03-2007 09:43 PM

How does she table dance without falling off?

It would have to be really, really bad this time to reach me. It is just you never know!

My favorite state park...the bridge you must cross to get to it..wiped out!

Usually the river is just a brook at this point. It had to been a huge, raging don't mess with me river!

Everything will crest around here at 10 am. The schools are closed. DH's work called and he may stay home also.

So, we will see!

DM 12-04-2007 07:42 AM

Hey, what are you guys doing posting at 3am? Or is my PC off? Get some sleep!

Oh, and about the table dancing?? Cheryl probably had velcro on her shoes.

FG?? Do you EVER take a bad pic???

Hey, RW? Another munchkin here!!! You could give me a few inches!!!

AfterMyNap 12-04-2007 11:44 AM

Geez, that is some scary stuff going on out there. Here, they say that for an inch of rain, it would be 9 inches if it were snow. Small favors? I saw some video of a fireman piggy-backing an elderly woman through a flooded street. If it weren't so scary, it would be funny.

Glad you're okay, Quaffy.

Oh yes...I do. But we delete those!

Check your User CP and see what time zone you checked!

I didn't have shoes on, DM! LOL!

Taffy, I am talking to my brother in Newburg and he has a house in Lincoln City. He can't get there and has no idea what condition his house is in - the Salishan clocked 129 mph winds. The Salishan is about 5 miles down the road from him!

I hope you are ok!

Taffy 12-04-2007 07:19 PM

Sad, sad, day....I am one of the lucky ones:(

Why this town was built on a creek in the first place?

Why did they build a college on the creek?

Then, why did the neighboring town build a WalMart on pasture land that floods?:p

When they ran out of barriers, they went to caution tape. All the roads have caution tape and are blocked off. You can't drive anywhere.

The air smelt so bad this morning, I don't know of what, some kind of oil, and choppers flying over head, off to rescue people, my stomach hurts, just thinking of it!

My dad was rescued early this morning by my sister and her husband in a boat. Of course he didn't want to leave! The water was at her knees when she got there. She grabbed a few things and by the time they got in the boat the water was at her waist! (where's the duct tape when you need it)
Most will be lost, but hey, it is just stuff and we all have way to much stuff!
(needed to sort thru it anyways. now it go quicker!)

( I am just sad for my town and the people who try to make they way here):(
(and I still can't track down some of my co-workers ???)

tovaxin_lab_rat 12-04-2007 07:42 PM

Taffy

I am glad your dad is safe now. And YOU, too!

I guess a flood is a good way to clean house! Not very efficient, but one way to get it done!

Take care of you and your family and I hope all your co-workers are accounted for soon. What a mess it is over there. I have been watching TV and Vernonia, OR is a big wet flooded mess, too. We used to live there.

Jappy 12-04-2007 07:46 PM

I can't imagine what all of you are going through with weather up your way. Here in N.J. it has been cold very windy a little snow and rain for the past 3 days. This is nothing compared to what you are going through. My prayers are with all of you. Take care. ---Joyce--- :grouphug:

DM 12-04-2007 07:55 PM

Holy Moly Taff! I hope your family is OK. That's just awful news...

Keep us posted and know that I'm praying for your family and your town.
