Going to Buenos Aires...
 

...sort of.

My friends and I have decided that we'd rather get our new year's eve party overwith by 9:00pm so we can go to bed, so I have found a new year countdown for Buenos Aires, which will give us our big new year celebration at a more convenient time.;)

We are hosting a small party here at my house and the adjusted climate calls for blender drinks and a curfew. We're quite enthused for our new approach and those who want to ring in the USA new year can still do so elsewhere. It's ideal!:D

Anyone have plans to share?

That sounds like loads of fun AMN! :) DH and I are sitting at home with a bottle of champagne. We're sort of night owls anyway so we'll probably be up past midnight then hit the sack. We don't go out on New Year's Eve anymore, haven't for at least 20 years.

So I will not be wasting my time ringing in a New Year!

I will drown myself in a bottle of Pepsi and munch on a bag of chips however!

Still MS fatigued, but had a nice day. Both Sons, Dawn, who is just back from Iraq, DD and 3 of the grands came over today. Not all at once... DD and Grands came over about 11AM and left about noon, then Sons and Dawn came about 12:30 and I chased them off at 2:00.....NAP TIME!!:D

Son #1 brought me 2 bottles of M&R Asti Spumonti and Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies...Yummmmmm.:p Son #2 and Dawn brought me a couple of Scent Defuser...really neat and a very large Candle. They know what I like.:) DD brought my groceries, bless her heart.

I am keeping Jake...so when putters out...I will be right behind him...it will just be he and I that night......so we will munch on cheetooo's and drink grape juice and I will let him beat on pots and pans at our mock Newyrs Eve Midnight celebration at about 8 pm....then crash lol....

He got a cool new work tool bench for here at our house...I cant wait to play with him on it....who knows "what" we will build......

Well, I am going out tonight! Do I want to?? NO!!!!! Some friends from WI announced a couple of months ago that they were coming down to celebrate NY's w/us.

They (2 couples) have hotel reservations and we all have reservations at the Country Club (1/2 mi from my driveway) The food should be good and the band is one that is an Eagles' tribute band, so the music is going to be awesome. My friends keep telling me to have my dancing shoes on. Yeah, right!!! I won't be doing any dancing that's for sure..

I really love these friends, but I just don't feel like going out, still trying to get over cold/bronchitis. I told DH that if he can't find me around 10pm to look in the women's room. I may be asleep on the porcelain chair in there...

Boy, I don't sound very enthused, do I?? Wish Toad Hollow had cabs; I'd come up to Cin's party. Hope you all have a good evening and that the New Year will be one that brings joy to all of us.

Well....if Craig and his wife can have sex on the beach(with or w/o) the santa suit, and others are meeting couples, then by golly my doggies and i can run thru the woods!! heehee Just kidding, there will be NO running on my part... maybe a slow waddle with lots of tripping and falling. :eek:

WOW! I am just sooooo jealous of you guys! :eek:

My wife and I don't really have a circle of friends and relatives all live too far away. We plan on going to Outback Resturaunt for an early dinner and then trying to stay awake to see some of the celebrations on TV.

I expect we will be going to bed before the magical bewitching hour. Have a lot of great things to watch on TV starting tomarrow morning with HGTV's Making of the Rose Parade at 10am and then at 11am what the commercial free Rose Parade on HGTV. Their hosts are great and you get alot of trivia about the floats with no commercial interruptions. Awesome!:wink:

Then we will start watching the bowl games. WoooHooo!:D

Yeah, I've always felt very blessed to have had so many wonderful friends. Most of them have stuck with me through thick and thin (not that I ever was so thin). I figure it's God's little way of making up for creating me to stay single all my life. ;)

Not to mention that My Ohio State will play in said Rose Bowl game..YaaaaaHooooo..Go Buckeyes!!

We're saving our celebrating for Chinese New Year this year. I decided to throw a party in Feb so I can learn more about their traditions.

DH is off today so he's making a lovely dinner tonight. Rack of lamb with a yummy seasoning/coating, rosemary and roasted garlic red potatoes, and a vegetable yet to be determined....

Other than that, we'll hang out with the monsters, drink some wine, and watch the ball drop.

My daughter and I are going out for an early dinner. Her husband is not well. The rest of the family went back home after christmas.

So it is going to be early dinner then come home and me and my best friend Sage my furry partner will bring in the New Year together. I wonder who will fall asleep first.

i am home all alone...no Jake, (his parents decided to stay home and have friends over), no Sissy....shes out at her friends house for the night, no Timbo...he is at work like a good husband......and no drinking for me....dr said its bronchitius and sinitutius for me.(i know those are not spelled right but I aint no DR.)...so on meds and that means no drinking for me tonight.....

Think I will just crash and snore like a big ole dog on the porch on a breezy summer evening....(at least I can dream)

Well, last minute change in plans for some friends who got grandbaby duty at the last minute. We had to move the new year up to Madagascar time, so at 8:00 EST, we cracked gourds and hollered, "kahjadgedetias aaaaaahhh!!!!!!" three times, and it was over. There was some elbow-shaking (like a handshake, but all the way up the forearm to the elbow).

So, out of sequins, into flannels and a little Bailey's for me.

The Bucks are playing for the National Championship on Mon 1/7 vs LSU in New Orleans.

Big party at my sisters next door. All are welcome, just wear your scarlett and grey to enter. Lots of drinks and snacks. If ya work you'd best take Tuesday off.

Funny you should say that, Sal~~ My Son In law is a die hard OH ST and Browns fan and since he's married to an IL gal, well.... there's quite a rivalry there.

DH is an Illini fan, bigtime. I don't watch any of it.

Oh and need to retract my dreading going out NY's. We had a fantastic time. The food was amazing and the band sounded exactly like the Eagles. It was a great evening. Of course, I can hardly walk today, but it was worth it. I had been down w/bronchitis and the whole schtick during Christmas so it really was good to get out......esp since DH and I met on NYE 34 yrs ago.

I am so happy that you got out on NYE and enjoyed it. Paying for it a little is worth it.:)

Oh, and Happy Anniversary..:D
