Smilies for email use

My 6 year old grandaughter wants me to put stickers in her emails. Of course I didn't know what that was so she explained that she just goes over to the left hand side and clicks on the smiley face to put stickers in. So I need to know how to get these things . They aren't on my email home so how do i go about doing this?

doydie, here is an easy site with tons of smileys. also look at the links in the graffics link thead. many can be used for emails too.

when you find the one you want, click on the number under the picture. it will give you 3 different codes.

copy and paste the one that says for emails, blogs and websites onto the email you are sending.

i just used the forum one to post this. ( it was under cats)

I use an email program called Incredimail. They have tons of smiles and icons. It's easy to download and easy to use. It's free.

But Curious' idea is probably a lot simpler! ;)

i like not having to download. i get leary about doing that too much. :o

OK, I now have to admit to my ignorance. If I go to that site to get those smilies, how do I get them on my email. OK, I am writing an email, do I go back and forth to that smilie site and my email and how does that work?

Curious 01-18-2008 10:40 PM

yep. just keep the window to the website and the email you are writing. if you make the screens skinny, you can keep them side by side.

doydie 01-19-2008 11:28 PM

Curious, another dumb question. How do I keep the screen skinny? Boy, I am really confessing to a lot of dumbness here.

doydie 01-21-2008 12:14 AM

Any answers on how to get a skinny screen? Or does it have to stay as fat as I am!

AfterMyNap 01-21-2008 12:18 AM

LOL, stop it, Doyd, you're making me feel even fatter.

Usually in one corner of the window you are using, there is some "texture" that you can grab with the mouse and reduce the size of the window by dragging it a little.

Then, usually under "File" way at the top, you can open another window, shrink it some, and then you can go back and forth between the two and still see them both.

If you don't understand who AMN is saying how about this....take your point/curser to the edge of your window until you get to the edge and the pointer turns into a double arrow...left click on your mouse and then scoot the window either left of right depending on whether you want to make it bigger or smaller, or whether you are on the right hand side of the window or the left hand side!

Does that help?

AfterMyNap 01-26-2008 11:36 PM

Doydie, did you get it all straightened out?

doydie 01-27-2008 01:24 AM

OK, I think I might be able to try that. It's making more sense to me. i have seen my daughter do it. But it's to late for me to do it tonight. I am actually feeling tired and it's only 12:30 AM. I usually don't feel this way for another hour.
