Come on up on the porch...

Well, it sho nuff is nice to be on the porch today even ifn its a lil bit cold. That won't be a problem, I got lots of covers and quilts, plenty of hot drinks and pastries.

The porch is where all us that had to move from the ole neighborhood meet to just sit back and listen to a story or two. I sho been mighty tested this week...Lord knows he is tired of hearing from me. lol

Bout a year ago my father's wife bought a truck she couldn't make payments on...so my DH took over the payments. She decided she wanted the truck back, she came Sat and got it...her excuse was the payments needed to be mailed by the 5th. In her world...I needed to drive 60 miles to get them to her rather than her have the bills sent to us. Anyhoo he is now out over 4000.00 and his work truck...and I sho nuff was ready to strangle this woman and pour my bestest home made syrup on her and tie her to a post in fire ants.

I even asked the ole neighborhood to pray mighty hard cause like I said the good Lord was tired of hearing from me I asked forgiveness sooo much. I guess I have calmed down a bit now. Sometimes it is mighty hard to forgive when you know that person has stabbed you so bad ya look like a fountain when ya drink water, but all in all, its best if ya can forgive. If ya don't find a way to forgive and ya just keep being angry, it'll just eat at ya and there won't be a nickel's worth of peace fer ya. It ain't easy, nope not one bit...cause I know, she gonna want me to go to Alabama with her in Feb.

I just can't go...she did wrong and I have no trust where she is concerned...and I can't accept her mental condition as an excuse. I might could, if she had kept the truck...she gave it to her son, so that when her grandson turns 16 in a couple of months he will have a truck to drive.

Forgiveness ain't easy...but it still is forgiveness...you kids get that?

Now who wants what fer breakfast...and don't be worryin none bout where to sit...Always room on Momma's porch always has been!

Kitty 01-21-2008 11:11 AM

Momma, I'm so sorry she did that to you - but rest assured she'll have to answer to a higher power than me or you. And she will pay - maybe not in our time but she will ultimately pay. Just keep rememberin' that.

Oh, and for breakfast I'll have pecan waffles with maple syrup and hot coffee!! And if you don't have that just coffee will be fine;).

Momma's Kids 01-21-2008 11:20 AM

Here ya go honey...careful with that coffee...well, I see some of the other kids crawlin out from under the covers...

Taffy 01-21-2008 11:24 AM

Hey Momma, for breakfast I would like a chocolate bar and a can of Pepsi!

Momma's Kids 01-21-2008 11:29 AM

My lil candy...I always keep Pepsi just for you...and plenty of chocolate...the good kind.

I have missed you...I noticed you cleaned your room all nice and tidy!

NaeNae 01-21-2008 11:44 AM

Momma you are right it sure is hard to forgive as you stand there with the knife still in your back but as always you are also correct! BTW Ol Rusty still chasin your skirt? AND her rooms always clean cause she pays me to do it!

SandyC 01-21-2008 11:55 AM

Momma, I am a callin' you this afternoon! I am so sorry this happened to you. I must say I got a little excited when you said Alabama in February. I will be in Huntsville on the 11th-23rd for Mom's surgery.

Glad your here Momma. We shor nuff got beat up in the ol neighborhood. We sho nuff could've used yer iron fist over there. That's allright though, I like my new home and this porch is way better!

Forgiveness. I do believe that is the hardest word in the English dictionary.

Jodylee 01-21-2008 12:44 PM

Hi Momma! I'm climbin up on the porch for the first time, since I didn't do it at theold homestead. Coffee is just fine for me!

I'm sorry about yer family troubles. I have a question. How do you really know you've forgiven someone? I've tried and tried to forgive my brother and SIL but every time I thnk I've done it....BAM! Here come the feelings of wanting to poke their eyes out LOL. I guess you really can't forgive until they stop twistin the knife. Or you cut them outta the picture.

Glad everyone's gettin' on the porch!!

sassy 01-21-2008 12:49 PM

Ahhh.. the porch....I'll take hot tea this morning, too cold for iced.

And the swing is still here, going to sit these tired old bones down and rest a spell.

As for the step-shedevil, we'll just push pins in this here doll I bought from the weird lady down the lane. Looks just like the old broad doesn't it?

sugarboo 01-21-2008 12:52 PM

Hi momma,
I used to lay on the grass and just listen to what ya'll had to say, not wanting to be the one who pulled on your pants to get some attention. Think I'll move on up to the porch now and swing in that there chair in the back.

It's good to be home

Momma's Kids 01-21-2008 12:52 PM

Joelle honey, those feelings of wanting to poke their eyes out come from being betrayed or hurt. The feelings of forgiveness come when you no longer hope they wreck the truck because you've cancelled the insurance on it. lol

As I said forgiveness is not easy in some cases, it is easier to forgive than to forget. I do not believe we ever truly forget but I do believe in time we do truly forgive and wish that no true harm comes. I often ask myself, right or wrong, would I want that person to forgive me?

I also say and stick with: Yep sister soul, you'll need me before I will ever need you! I am just that independent, I will lose everything I own before I ask for anything...which is just about where we are thanks to some of the things she has managed to accomplish with us. Still she is my father's wife, and no one comes between me and mine. ( said with the stubborness of three mules and one jacka$$)

Twinkletoes 01-21-2008 01:08 PM

Yep, forgiveness is right there in the difficult list, next to "I'm sorry."

I admire you Momma.

With all us adopted kids hangin round, you really oughtta get a bigger porch! :)
