Limbo checkin 1/23/2008

Good Morning!
I hope everyone had a chance to unpack their bags and get settled in real nice and cozy. This is a weekly post put up on Wed of every week to update each other on where we are in our search for answers. Old and new are welcome!

Anyone who missed it, I had my LP a week ago Monday. Blood Patch on Friday and been recovering ever since. I've been feeling pretty bad, but seem to be better each day.

I've noticed my right arm has been misbehaving as well as my feet. I poked my hand with a pencil, yep, sure enough, its getting numb

I see the Neuro on the 31st for my LP results. Not even going to try and find out my results before I go in. Just wait it out and see what happens..

I had a very tramatic day yesterday, and could use some hugs and support, but I don't even know how to say it, or put into words what I'm feeling. After I think about it, I may start a thread...watch for it.

Had a cold snap, then two nights ago a wind storm that blew in 50 degree weather, melted the snow, then it froze like a ice rink, now today fresh snow over the top of it. Love those Chinook winds

So, how was your week?

HUGS! :grouphug:

Hi GJ! I started a check in under general health. But this may be a better place for it - easier to find.

I'm supposed to go to the neuro tomorrow, trying to talk myself out of cancelling. sposed to be cold. Long drive for me. When I made the appt, dh was on would have had the day off, but he's switched shifts now he has to work.

To self "Sheesh. Just go, ya big sissy."

:p

I'm still a little fatigue-y, hard to get to sleep but waking up better. Sleeping about 7-8 hrs - WOW.

Neck is no worse than usual in this weather. Arms are normal strength, hands not zappy. Hip is bad last couple of days, over did it walking through an antiques mall Monday. Should've brought my cane. It's getting a little better though.

Over all I feel pretty good. I'd still like more energy, less pain, but who wouldn't?

:D

And GJ, so sorry you went through all that with the LP. Hope you're fully recovered soon and that you at least get some answers for all your trouble.

But please keep telling your story. For every few good LP tales there's a bad one and people need to know that, you know? It is not 100% painless (it is for some of us, and it is NOT for the rest of them) it is NOT always safe, there are risks.

It hits home when you hear it from someone it actually happened to.

I think that is one of THE most valuable things about this forum - that's info you can't get just anywhere.

Hi Greenjeans and fellow limboers and limboettes-

Having an off day today, feel kinda icky. Having major speehc and cofog issues. Leg is not cooperating, etc.

Enough of me licking my wounds... you guys are way more interesting! Had some weatherization work done yesterday to the house. Hope it helps, at least the doors dont blow the cold air in like they were.

GJ-:hug::hug: Feel better yet? If not then::circlelove: So sorry to hear you have been going through such a rough patch lately. Life sure isnt fair sometimes as bad stuff shouldn't have to happen to good people & you are definately "Good People"!!!

To all fellow Islanders: did anyone give the Cabanna boys a map?:Mexican: I need a refill on my cuppa Joe.

someone clue me in on where the Island eventually settles to I can be sure to visit each week (I think MS or social chat section are prob the best choice IMHO). I of course dont want to exclude anybody with other possible dx so I leave the decision to the majority.

Hey! Mind if I join in? :)

I see a new neuro tomorrow (2nd one) and am praying he listens to me and doesn't chalk my symptoms up to stress and migraines like the other one. I got this new ones name from NMSS local chapter, so he is a MS specialist **fingers crossed**

As for my symptoms. My body is still tripping out. Mainly at night. Everything burns, twitches and cramps. I've been losing a lot of sleep because of it. I am so tired!!

My outer edge of my right foot is still numb, and my balance is still off. Wonder if it will ever go away?

Wish me luck for tomorrow. I have a knot in my stomach! I just want it over with already.

DAY1 01-23-2008 01:06 PM

I posted on the other one too.

Oh well, I'll post here too.

I'm fine. I'm tingling, numb, got ringing in my ears, I'm cold cold cold.
Still have the pain in my ribcage.

Basically, nothings new.

I've tried to call shalynn(sharon) but I haven't gotten in touch with her.
Does anyone know if she was told that everyone took off to this site?

I already posted this but I'll post it here also since I'm still in limbo land.

I saw the neuro today to see what my LP looked like and he said it was good and that all my SX must been from anxiety.

I would really hope that if I had so much anxiety that would make 1/2 my body go numb for 2 1/2 days starting while having a nice dinner with DH that I would know I was even having anxiety. :(

Dr put me on cymbalta and asked me to come back in a month.

DAY1 01-23-2008 01:23 PM

Don't you just love it when the Neuro's become Psychatrists all of a sudden when they don't know what is wrong?

Take the cymbalta for a month and go back. Then you can say "it didn't work"

Hi everyone.

Hope that this stays put, so we can all find it.
I posted on the other place too, but I lied-said I was doing great.
Not too many sxs bothering me this week; no stiffness like last week.

But since a week after going off of prednisone, I've been in the tank, depression-wise. I feel so, well, purposeless, for lack of a better word. I still don't think I can work due to my cog problems, and I just don't feel motivated to get off of my butt and try to do anything except exercise.

At least I can do that this week...last week I was too stiff to do much of anything.

GJ, I hope that the worst is over concerning your LP. And Brain, as I posted elsewhere, you should go to the Dr. No question about it.

See you next week...everyone have a good one!

Check this out! Brain already started a thread for limbo here! Probably a better place than social chat - general health forum?

braingonebad 01-25-2008 12:15 AM

We could do it the old fashioned way and take a vote - where to put the LCI. I think there was mass confusion due to all of us just arriving. It's a BIG place, easy to get lost.

sabimax 01-25-2008 06:16 PM

hey, brain, are you not going to do the checkin at the other site then?? anyhow...peeking in to say hi....
same old same old....undx me....
cabana boys....hey where are you hehehehe

hugsss all, sarah

I see the Neuro on the 31st for my LP results. .........Enough with the coincidences between you & me! I see mine on the 31st too, 'cept this is a brand new one for me.

I had a very tramatic day yesterday, and could use some hugs and support...... A multitude of cyber hugs coming your way...and as much support as you need!

I have that too! My ribs get so sore at times that I cry out in pain. I hear it's common with us MSers, I just don't understand why.
