Unfinished Business
:):mfr_wha:
I got gutsy and requested that the mods or administrators at the 'other place' allow us to finish up some projects there. Since the cafe closed abruptly many were left hanging and some have not found their way to this great site. i don't know if they'll post my message or not:confused: In particular there is the Postcard event. I'm getting postcards with no return address. In some cases I do have the address in my MS address book, but not in all. It's usually my fault. I received a number of addresses and I forgot to write our user name on them! Duh.... I'll blame it on cog fog but it's really just Duh! I think it is particularly hard to let go of some of our fun things. So I hope we can continue or find new ways to do things. Tootsie |

I hadn't been on the site that much over the last few months, too much going on with the holidays, health etc so I didn't go through all the posts but I'm feeling like I missed something juicy. |

The postcards are fun and kind of what I'd call 'affirming'. It's nice to get one that is a State card or about the place our buddies live. It's just nice to feel connected.:) Tootsie |
Tootsie,
FYI, I think everyone has been posting "post card receipts, etc." under Sandy's thread, "I got a package." |
Hey, all, this is NeuroTalk and a whole new community! If you want something new, give it a try, but please, let's leave the old behind us!:)
|
:) Hi there
we know some are feeling the upset of things at your previous home forum, but just hoping that we can maybe focus on HERE now, and all the good stuff we have to offer you That will also make it easier on our oldtime members who dont have any idea what has happened here :D best maybe keep these discussion to PMs again, we sure understand that some need to vent, and so are not saying not to discuss some things, but maybe just to limit them:o thanks so much Cheri |
Yes, those who are wanting to do the postcard thing please come to my package thread and hook up. Or maybe start a new thread about the postcards?
Also, if you want to see your posts from the cafe do a search of key words. They are in the archives. I agree that we should keep the old in the past and get on with the new too. It's like grieving, we have to let go. :-) |
:sorry: Wasn't trying to stir things up. I seriously didn't know why some were upset and trying to make it light hearted with my juicy comment.

This kind of reminds me of when I used to supervise new lab techs and they would talk a lot about their old job or whatever. I have been guilty of that myself. I would need to tell new employees that they are at the new job now and what happened at the old job stays there. And visa versa. It's hard to let go, I know, but we have to for our sakes and those who were here long before us. I think Pm's would work best at this point. ;) I guess I just don't want us to get a bad rep. I like the new slate. :o |

Should auld acquaintance be forgot, And never brought to mind? Should auld acquaintance be forgot, And auld lang syne! For me it's not dwelling on the old. Frankly I still go to the 'old'. Everyone did not leave. Many here still go to the other place. It's not harmful for competition to exist; look at Circuit City/Best Buy, etc. Just an example of coexisting in good will. If you don't find it one place you go to another. I have started many new threads here. Nothing to do with old stuff. Just want to tie up loose ends. Also, no I don't want to give up the Post Card thing cause it's old. It is nice. I welcome the new friends here and the old. I am glad for them all. Tootsie |

D~~ IMHO, there should be no competition between any boards. I think what the Administrators are trying to say is, THIS is a diff board and they'd like you to leave other board info where it generated.
NT is open, friendly and a great place, but there are people that have been here a long time and rely on it just as all members who did the same elsewhere. I think Chemar's point was a very good one, let's honor it.. Glad you like it here and everyone is sooooo welcome, but let's close the door on something that has nothing to do w/NT. It's only right. Welcome again. Please don't take this personally, it was not meant to be.:) |
For the Postcard info members can PM you about it - if you would like to do that.
co existing is a good thing -:D :grouphug: |
I feel like we are running around like the proverbial 'bulls in a china shop'! LOL By talking about the old as much as we do, we are probably alienating ourselves from long-time members of this board.I, for one, don't want to do that. From now on, I'm only going to pm about old stuff.I'm trying not to speak for everyone and really don't want offend anyone who is new or old to this wonderful, informative, and supportive world.Just my not so humble opinion, as usual LOL!

All I said in the original post is that it would be nice if we could finish up some of the old stuff we left behind.
Some people have moved their thread here; I only mentioned continuing the postcard thread (and it does seem to be happening here). For myself, I'm posting new things here and I'm enjoying going to both boards. One of the threads there had another reply from 'Kat' (founder) and explained a bit more of what happened. Tootsie |
Please let it drop now, Diane. The thread is up and going in the MS Social Chat forum. If you need to communicate re: that subject, please, please do it there, via PM, or via email.

I don't diss the other world; I said simply it would be nice to tie up loose ends. I've been to the postcard thread; I've enjoyed that thread both here and there. I do go to the other place and I see you do too or someone using your name. I post there and I post here. I don't see it as the least bit unfair. We have many from the old place who are using their posts from there to continue here. There are also still some confused members over at MSWorld and I tell them to visit us and that they can use both resources or as many as they want. The Internet is still a free world. You can visit as many boards as you feel you can keep up with. I feel that I have many positive threads here; why not say something nice to me instead of always being so critical. I've reread my post and there is nothing nasty in it. Tootsie:mad: |
I think the issue Diane is that the same thread is up in the MS Social Chat room now.

Hi
this is NeuroTalk, and we have welcomed new members and done our best to acomodate and be understanding of the circumstances that brought you here but we REALLY need for all to also be considerate of the longtime members of THIS community, and so I am again politely requesting that this discussion not take place here please. much appreciated, thank you :) ps I have moved this thread out of the community social chat forum to MS social chat and would appreciate if this topic would be moved to PM/emails now please |
Thank you for the wonderful welcome you have given all of us
newbies Chemar. I fell you have ALL been very patient in all of us aclimating to our new home.:) I would hope all of us understand we need to move on, keep it on the down low:D, and let it be, gosh darnit.:) Thanks again for all you do, I for one am really enjoying it here. Soxmom |
Please see above that I said i've found and posted to the postcard there here.
Thanx. I can no longer continue to post to this thread; it's run it's course. Moving on to other threads. :) |
i totally agree and thank you for your posts chemar.
