HOT! HOT! HOT! Did I say it was HOT?

I don't know what's going on with me but it is 34' outside and I'm sweating. I have sweatpants and a short sleeved T-shirt on. I actually stand outside on my side porch to smoke and feel perfectly fine. The rest of the day inside I can feel the sweat run down my back and neck. Driving me nuts!

I can't tolerate heat outside at all and have to wear a cooling vest when it gets over 70'. Go figure?

Is it just me? Could I be going through male manapause????

MooseasaurusRex 01-25-2008 01:13 PM

Craig!
Craigcraigcraig!

My girlfriend has MS as well and her internal thermostat is completely broken.
I don't care for being hot, but she could live in an igloo... with nothing on... but a smile.

Hope you get relief soon, partner.

NaeNae 01-25-2008 01:14 PM

Can I join the hot crowd?? :icon_redface: I have the same problem it could be 20 below!

kellijo 01-25-2008 01:18 PM

I have the opposite problem I'm always cold.

They should come up with a way to combine the two problems and then everyone would be just perfectly warm.

Dejibo 01-25-2008 01:18 PM

OMG I live in beautful New Hampshire and we get snow by the foot! its can be zero outside, and I am running around in short pants! people think I am nuts when I show up in a sweater and they are all bundled up.

My MS MD says my thermostat is busted. As long as I am warm to the touch, he says go for the lighter clothes. Getting hot makes me feel bad. I would rather look strange in my shorts and feel good then be fully dressed and feel crappy.

tamiloo 01-25-2008 01:19 PM

My honey is always freezing...even in the summer when the air conditioner is running he will want me to turn it off...

"MALE MANAPAUSE" :ROTFLMAO::ROTFLMAO:!!!! You are freaking hysterical Craig! I think I may be going through the female "real";) menopause. I'm hot, cold, hot, cold makes me and my husband crazy.

jmiller 01-25-2008 02:22 PM

Add me to your "wierd" list, jmiller, because I'm the same way. Really hard to get dressed for the day! Go figure . . . :o

Nevada Leftie 01-25-2008 05:22 PM

I can sympathize. Never ask me if it is too hot or too cold, I can no longer tell. I swear, my internal thermostat is broken.

SallyC 01-25-2008 08:28 PM

I hear you Craig. My thermostat is set on 62, year around..:D

Vegasgrl 01-25-2008 10:10 PM

Sounds like Menopause to me!! :D

I have the same problem, everyone complains that I am freezing them out.

That's true, but i'm way past menopause..:D

Kristi 01-25-2008 10:25 PM

I hate getting to hot or too cold.

snoodles 01-25-2008 10:27 PM

Add me to the list.

My thermostat is also broken - has been several years.

I will get EXTREMELY HOT - very fast and I sweat and sweat and sweat - to the point of being very embarrassing !!!! :o And I am a person who used to take pride in the fact that I never perspired even when others did. I know that wasn't really a good thing but it was nice that my make-up and hair would like nice in 100 degree weather here in the hot south.

I find that if I move around much - I get hot really fast and sweat, but the reverse is also true - if I am sitting still for a short time - I get really cold and have to run a heater at my feet. Both of these extremes occur in perfectly normal temperature range.

I not only sweat - I get really red faced and people get worried about me and I have had a few people think I was having a stroke.

Obviously - you really touched a nerve with me - this is one of my most difficult things to manage.

embarrassing

NaeNae 01-26-2008 02:25 PM

Snoodles, being a fellow southerner I can so relate....I used to march around in 100 degree weather not a hair out of place or bead of sweat. Now my face gets super red and I am sweating like a fat man over a turkey dinner!

kicker 01-26-2008 05:28 PM

I'm HOT, HOT, HOT then as the temperature is lowered there's a 2 degree window that's just right, then I'm COLD, COLD, COLD. And Menopause really made it worse!

Twinkletoes 01-26-2008 05:33 PM

Melting 2: Me too -- must be the greenhouse effect, lol.

Picture of me holding umbrella to protect others from my perspiration: :rain::grouphug:

I am a walking rain forest. :p

Jappy 01-26-2008 07:47 PM

CRAIG Male Menopaus :D:D:D

Put me on the list also. The temp. can be low and I am Hot. It can be
high and I am cold.

Then there are the times it is normal and bang you are dressed for the
temp. out and away from home and everything goes crazy.

I have been in places when I got to hot that I nearly passed out because I was dressed for the cold.

When I feel cold the ms doesn't act up to much, but when I feel hot
I get sick and loose control of this mixed up body.

Joyce

I don't think so. I had a hysterectomy when I was 35 yrs. old. Even if I didn't, I hate to admit it but I am slightly over the age
for menopause. :Noooo:

YOUNG AT HEART :heartthrob:

Jappy :)

HSPCraig 01-28-2008 10:57 AM

Soooo! I take it no other male members here are going into, in, or coming out of male "MAN-a-pause?"
