Things just keep getting worse for me..........

(I posted this in the wrong spot earlier......sorry)

Some of you remember that I had bladder surgery in Dec. Well since then I've had pain in the right side of my bladder. I've seen the surgeon a cpl times and he's concerned. Well after hurting all weekend I saw the dr. today and he's now worried that the gizmo they put in to hold my bladder in place has punctured my bladder...or...a stitch from it is on the inside of the bladder wall. So I have to have a Cystoscope on Wed. (where he'll look inside my bladder with a scope to see if he can see the problem.) If he can fix the problem thru the scope he will. If not then I'll have to have another surgery
Also since I'm on the Prednisone right now for the lung issue I can't have the 3 hr gtt test and TRH test on Wed......now I have to reschedule after I'm off the steriods..... It's always something it seems!!

Hi Roxie:

I am so sorry that you're going through all this crap.

All I can do is hold you hand through cyber space and give you a hug.

Hope you feel a bit better soon!!

Brian 01-28-2008 10:36 PM

Hi Roxie, i hope you have a change of luck and they can fix your problem on Wednesday.
good luck
Brian :)

Silverlady 01-28-2008 10:40 PM

Roxie..

I posted in the other thread, but I'll repeat in case you don't read the other one again. I'm just so very sorry you are having all of these issues and all of this pain. It's just not fair that one person has to go thru so much. And you have been through too much of it. Hopefully he'll be able to do the work thru the cystoscope and it will all be over soon.

Then maybe next time I make it to your neck of the woods we'll go on an all day shopping binge! :)

Keep us posted.
Billye

Hi Roxie:

When it rains, it sure pours, lady... I am sorry to hear about this. Bladder pain is a pretty miserable feeling... People who have never experienced this can't begin to identify with the feeling. It is just always there REMINDING you that it hurts.. I hope they have you on something to at least dull the pain.

Anyway, you have enough on your plate without another surgery. Glad the surgeon is going to attempt to fix this Wednesday.

What is the gizmo they used to support your bladder? I thought they used some kind of sling made from your own tissue. Maybe I am dreaming this up...

Thinking about you and hoping for the best,

Cathie

Roxie2007 01-29-2008 09:24 AM

Hi Cathie, It's a litte mesh gizmo called a Mini Arc sling. I guess it's sutured in there so maybe one of the stitches went through the bladder wall or something. I too hope he can fix it all tomorrow because the last thing I want is another surgery!

daniella 01-29-2008 11:15 AM

Many hugs and this may mean nothing to you but like I said before you are my role model to keep fighting. As you know I am in a hurricane too of issues. One day at a time and I am always here for you. On the note of the fasting test it may not be a good idea or may because I don't know if it would throw the test off but could you start making some of the changes now incase you are diabetic or heading there? Melody who has made major changes I am sure could offer some ideas. It may help with your bloodwork, pain, energy, and weight. Just a thought.

Roxie:

I forgot to tell you that the lady across the street from me (Her name is Jackie) and she's 72 and looks 50, and still goes to work.

Well she had this bladder thing done a few years ago. She had described that they put some kind of sling thing inside her to hold up her bladder. Worked just fine.

Just thought I'd share this with you.
And here's a beautiful image to keep in your brain. Nice and calming.

good quote Melody, that made me chuckle. Thats how i think of medical things sometimes a lot of nonsense, but the nonsense is piling up.

I hope everything goes well for you Roxie and you get a break in health issues.

glenntaj 01-29-2008 12:37 PM

I also posted in the thread--

--but I'm adding my hopes that your bladder isn't perforated, Roxie, and they can find and repair what's causing those symptoms without resorting to an invasive surgery.

(We've got to get Roxie and Silverlady some good medical tort lawyers. Wonder if John Edwards will soon be available if his primary vote counts don't go up.)

HeyJoe 01-29-2008 12:46 PM

the law firm that took on the tobacco companies and won, Motley Rice is also very thorough.

RLuckyL 01-29-2008 06:54 PM

It is kind of small consolation, but at least is sounds like the doctor is not trying "gloss over" the situation. It would have been nice if he had come to those conclusions a little sooner though.

Hello

I have peripheral neuropathy. Need to talk with someone.

thanks,

Dan

Roxie2007 02-01-2008 07:26 PM

HI! Well my bladder isn't perforated and my dr. couldn't find anything wrong on the inside of my bladder. So he's wondering if this is just after surgery pain.....OR if the sling has come loose. He wants to see me in 2 weeks and then we'll go from there......so I'm still off work. :(

Yorkiemom 02-03-2008 08:22 PM

That is good news, but it would be nice to know what is causing the pain...

I searched a little on the sling, but was not able to find out what it is made of, other than some of the sites I explored mentioned mesh.

Have you thought about asking the surgeon what it is made from? Some of us are very sensitive to different things.

Meanwhile, has he offered you anything like Urelle to help tolerate the pain?

Cathie

Oh Roxie, I send you my Prayers

I had to have Bladder surgery before and it is so uncomfortable. I had to have a tube through my stomache and wear a bag on my leg for six weeks until I re-trained my bladder. It can be really uncomfortable. When they had mine in the tube was scratching the inside of my bladder and it was sooo painful.

I will say a prayer for you and hope you get through this with as little pain and discomfort as possible.

dahlek 02-06-2008 01:48 PM

OK Roxie!

HOW ARE YOU DOING?

You have been quiet and I bet I'm not the only one worried.
Do please, give us an update...either kind of news we can handle here. We always seem to... you know that!

Hi Dan. I just sent you a PM. I've been AWOL from the board for a bit. RL issues and a bit of depression kept me inside my own little world for a bit. Hope things are looking up for you.

Sorry to hijack this thread a bit you all. I now return you all to the thread as it was. :D

Silverlady 02-12-2008 10:43 AM

Where are you??!!!

Billye

daniella 02-12-2008 11:00 AM
