Shiney Sue has been pretty sick lately....
Tho she's posted a bit on and off in the last couple of weeks, she's had a bad time of it lately.
She just got back from the hospital earlier this week. She has/had a kidney infection, kidney stones, very high fever, fell, broke some teeth before going to the hospital. She's finding it hard to type rite now due to a pic line for IV anti-b's. From the little she wrote me, she's not a very excited camper? I hope you all will send her some good wishes, as she's always been there for all of us. I believe she has access to a 'puter, it just hurts to type rite now. Thanks all! -j |
Sue,
Sending :hug::hug: your way. You are in my thoughts and prayers to get well soon. |
Shiney Sue
We miss your smile and humor:):) Sending good strong thoughts to get better soon - hope those IV anti-b's do their job quickly. And regarding your teeth - can say I can totally relate - we need to learn to fall not on our faces!!! Hope those are easily fixable!
 |
I am sorry to hear this....
Get better Sue... seems like you've had your share already!

Humm, so the nite nurse is having fun with BOB? Oh My...what a 'situation?' Can life, let alone medical life, get more complex or 'furry'? Here you are, bummed up with goshes knows what all, and your neuro is outta commission and your nursie is playing with Bob? Really, tell me we aren't in the Twilight Zone now? Tell me!!! As for feeling better...click your heels 3 times saying: 'There's no place like home!' emphatically and see what happens.. SallyC - like your quote! Good one. Sue? Here's a hug for you:hug: Billye |
I hope you feel better soon Sue and get back to eating food and typing with all fingers and using CAPS
|
Checking back in to see how you are doing... Still got that sense of humor, I see... :) Boy, you guys have cornered the market up there on being sick.
Glur... Glur??? Hmmm... Must be some new kind of nurses' talk... Meanwhile, Cowboy Bob and the nite nurse COULD be giving Gray's a run for their money.... Notice I say COULD... You know how that Bob is though. He has such a way with the ladies... :) :) :) Nah... Doctor McBob is a good guy, probably training her on some new technique or reviewing an old one... Heh heh heh... Do they still use that doll named Annie to teach CPR? Could this possibly be sort of like an Annie review? But, lasting 3 hours??? The thought of all the possibilities here is making me light-headed... Cathie |
Sorry to see you're out of sorts, to put it mildly.
Speedy recovery, and well wishes ........and no, I'm not that BOB (durn !) |
Glad to see you posted--

|
Hello there, my shiney friend! Forgive me, I've been wallowing in my own woes and had no idea how you are suffering.:( I'm so sorry that I have been so utterly clueless. Cheap help, I guess.:o
What are we going to do with you, missy? I would sing a nice song for you but I'm under strict warnings from my local police department about that. I would blow up a thousand brightly colored balloons for you, but then I'd pass out. I would paint a mural on your ceiling to amuse you, but alas, I can't even paint well with a professional taking my orders. I would row a boat to rescue you, but, well, we'd both drown and I think that would be littering. I could just say from my heart that I hope you feel much better very, very soon, so I will. I hope you feel much better very, very soon, and do keep on shining! |
Sue...
Hi there,
So glad you've got enough spunk left to make jokes. You always amaze me! :) No miracles yet for my eyes. But there is a new product coming out (hopefully in the next month) which will be like goggles but more cosmetically pleasing. And they hoping that some people will be able to wear them under glasses. It's a clear moisture goggle. It will be sealed enough to allow some humidity to build up..which will keep moisture close to the eye. I could have really used them in the two hospital stays I had. So dry in those places. I'm very well acquainted with the manufacturer/designer of this product. They already make a nightime moisture goggle that a lot of the eye doctors carry in their shops. www.eyeeco.com I've worn them for almost 4 years now and even took them to the hospital this last trip Anyway, hoping their new product will be as successful. I'll be sure to let you know about it. Hope Dr. John gets your feet out of the air. He is such a wonderful person. You take care of yourself. Be a good patient but take care of yourself. Billye |
Hi Sue:
I heard you have not been well. I truly hope you are up and about soon. Until then, here's a pretty picture to make you think and relax. Just picture yourself (maybe with John?) and a nice picnic basket, with this view. It's really breathtaking!!! http://dl.glitter-graphics.net/pub/9...j8egsn33wl.gif |
thanks susan how's that son of your's,have you talked to him,be sure
you tell him there's a bunch of nice, but sometimes crabby people thinking of him, right her in cyber space... gosh cindy you could find tire slasher for me,but i;ll take those jugs. billye going to try the night time goggles,i wake up with such dry eyes..years ago they use to put such gel in her eyes and taped them shut. does your skin get dry..john got my legs down and poped me out of the chair. mel thanks for the picture that's where i would love to have are commune. when you look out at our snow ,weird weather... if you have time sing me a song,i have a feeling you have a good voice..my picc pit is starting to feel better but sleepy i am...night all sue |
Yes Sue
To answer your question, I have very dry skin. I soak myself in an oil/cream lotion after every shower. I looked and looked for one and tried so many things. I finally settled on one that I make myself. It's been so much more pleasing than others. The secret is in putting the lotion on immediately after the shower to lock the moisture in.
Feel better, Billye |
Don't you worry Sue:
I'll sing a song just for you. I'll post it here when I do it. You'll laugh your head off. Take care, Melody |
It's good to hear from you, Shiney Sue! My son in Iraq is doing fine, thank you, except for being a little cranky due to the plumbing in his area needing repairs -- no showers. Minor problem compared to what many are suffering. I am sending healing thoughts your way.

I have a funny story (and I didn't want to start another thread because there are some people in such pain, that I didn't want to take any attention away from their problems).
But I did have an odd experience today with my shoes. I was given a pair from Dr. Comfort. I was measured, they came with inserts (which I promptly took out because I hated them). So when I first got them (about 8 months ago during the summer time) I used to go for walks. Sometimes they pinched in the toe box area, but I attributed that to my toe nail having not been trimmed on one of my toes. But I always make sure my toes nails are cut properly. I haven't worn the Dr. Comfort shoes in about 6 months. Well after that one incident I began to wear crocs during the summer and into the winter. I got used to my crocs. I LOVE MY CROCS. Got them in every color. I think I've worn these Dr. Comfort shoes about 4 times since I got them. So I haven't worn the Dr. Comfort shoes until today. The sun was shining, so I decided to walk 20 blocks to the produce stores. Well, (and I didn't race walk or anything), just walked normally, listening to my music). Well, by the time I got to 10 blocks, my toes (especially on the left shoe) were killing me. I stopped dead in my tracks and said "what the???" I knew immediately I had to take it S L O W until I got to a ninety nine cents store and see if that had a cheap pair of crocs. (That's the only kind I wear). I've paid from $1.99 to $3.99) for all my crocs. Couldn't find a store for 4 blocks. Then I limped into the Value City Store, and there were a whole display stand full of crocs in every size and color. I immediately bought my usual Size 11. I wear a Size 10 normally but in crocs I'm an 11. Well, you should have seen the relief on my face when I walked out of that store. I also bought them in white for the summer. $3.99 each. That is the only shoe I'm putting on. I had absolutely no trouble walking the rest of the way home. I know that Crocs have a wider than usual toe box (and Donald Trump had a whole episode devoted to Crocs just last week). I will never put those stupid Dr. Comfort shoes on again. And these are special diabetic shoes??? I don't think so. Anybody else have horror stories about wearing shoes and then you were saved by your Crocs??? |
So, how did they get named that? Crocs???
Just curious....odd name for a shoe. I suppose 'Gators' was taken already...(not that those are shoes?)....Maybe it is time to start a Croc thread....I have a hunch this could go on for a while.....:D |
Hi there.
A long time ago, there was such a thread. All about Crocs and how ugly they were. I remember saying "I'll never put a pair on my feet" Now, I won't wear anything else. Now how ironic is that!!! Mel |
I was going shopping today with my husband and dressed nicely. At the last minute I took off the shoes I had on and put on my Crocs! I just couldn't face all that walking and standing around on cement floors in any shoes except my Crocs! My ensemble suffered, but I was sooooo happy! The hilarious thing is, I have been in a couple of very expensive shoe stores lately that sell to people with diabetic foot problems. They are selling a very expensive knock off of Crocs for about $60! I do buy the real thing -- name brand Crocs. But they are only $30. I don't have all the low cost options here. But they are well worth it at any price! The best shoe in the world! (But I have to admit, I think they are ugly.)
