6 More weeks of winter...

Guess that means only 12 more for me!

PunkDizzle 02-02-2008 12:10 PM

bah what does that little rat really know anyway... there again his "guess" is probably just as good as the weather persons..

hollym 02-02-2008 12:14 PM

Stupid groundhog. I should drive over there and shake some sense into him. I only live about an hour and a half away and we certainly didn't have sun here. Fool doesn't even know that the shadow he is seeing is because of all the stupid camera crews and their lights!

snoodles 02-02-2008 12:22 PM

Ohhh he is such a pretty little "hog" he can't help it - he is just the messenger... ;)

I just wanted to reach through my TV screen and pet him in spite of his bad news....

smiles 02-02-2008 12:25 PM

Is it ever anything else?

sugarboo 02-02-2008 12:25 PM

:Thats-Funneh:

AfterMyNap 02-02-2008 12:59 PM

LOL! :ROTFLMAO:

Foggy Brain 02-02-2008 02:06 PM

My DD (5) is learning to spell and write sentences in kindergarten, and her class learned about Groundhog Day yesterday. On a page where it asked to give a Groundhog Day's prediction, she innocently wrote, "He will see his shadow." LOL  And sure enough, it was beeming with sunlight here in MO this morning.

kimmydawn 02-02-2008 03:11 PM

That is so special!!!

I'm looking forward to spring, but still holding out for a good snow yet. :)

KD

Nevada Leftie 02-02-2008 03:54 PM

I am sorry for all of you guys in snow, sleet and cold! ;)
Weather is perfect here. Not quite warm enough to swim, but almost.
We are expecting some relatives on their way down from Wisconsin for a two week vacation.
Spring will arrive across the nation and we here will be wishing for cooler weather.

MooseasaurusRex 02-02-2008 06:45 PM

Ahem. I live in Pittsburgh! Phil, however, is not to be trusted anyway, but it isn't because of his proximity to the Burgh or your ex:p.

AZjanie 02-03-2008 08:40 PM

I'll have two burgers and a side of fries please. :D

barb02 02-03-2008 08:52 PM

Okay, there is several inches of snow on the ground, temperature is now 38 degrees, and we are having thunder storms. Does this sound normal to you?

Oh yeah -- don't pick on "Picksburgh."

Yeah. Alaska, huh? I grew up in Canada; we always thought, if we had only 6 more weeks of winter, that would be the good news!

Heber is a beautiful place. Our valley is a lot like Heber's...lots of mountains all around and lots of snow!!

DM 02-05-2008 03:56 PM

MooseasaurusRex 02-05-2008 06:15 PM

Unbelievable!
It got up to 78 here today. Warm yesterday too.
The 'peeper frogs' are out.
Not sure of the technical name...

Come to think of it, not even sure they're frogs...

Um, Moose, what is a "peeper frog"? (I could run with that name, but I'll be nice.) :D

Yesterday I noticed some trees BUDDING already. Pretty unusual this early in Missouri, usually happens in March when they bud and then we get hit with cold temps. Supposed to get hit with a big snow storm tonight . . . DD (5) will be happy about that!

weegot5kiz 02-05-2008 08:45 PM

look at it this way Green the sun wont be setting soon,

we have had all four seasons this past week here

hope everyone makes it through all these tornado warnings

reillymo 02-05-2008 08:45 PM

Spring on the horizon here

Here in Seattle spring is on the horizon. We are in a bit of a cold snap right now - and the mountains have been getting a TON of snow - but in my yard, the daffodils have poked through the ground, my wild irises are starting to bloom <in their pot> ...so hope is here!

I have only lived here 5 years, but I have seen that the Seattle area is about 5-6 weeks ahead of New England on spring:)

Mo

SallyC 02-05-2008 08:54 PM

We have a Tornado Watch logo on our TV.. Spring is coming.

tamiloo 02-05-2008 09:36 PM

I think I would rather have the winter storm warning on my TV...

weegot5kiz 02-05-2008 09:54 PM

I too would rather a snow warning which by chance we do have tonight, deb needs to call her ma down in arkansas to make sure she is ok, cant get through right now so hopefully its just weather related

SandyC 02-05-2008 09:58 PM

Ummm, it's eerily quiet in my neck of the woods.

tamiloo 02-05-2008 10:06 PM

Quiet here is good...what does it mean there??

I don't know. All I know is we are supposed to get over 6 inches of snow or more. It's starting to get windy now.
