Today is just a day when I get to find out if my vote next week will mean anything.

Seriously, I always vote. I try to read up on the issues and come to an informed decision. Sometimes I even feel as if my decision is informed...at least as much as the next guy who marks all of the boxes with a D or an R in front of them.:o

If you accomplish nothing else today,GO VOTE!!!It is the single most important right you have as a citizen of this great nation. Let your voices be heard!

Usually by the time it gets to Texas it is decided. But THIS YEAR MY VOTE MAY COUNT :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Since my vote doesn't usually count for the presidential primary I usually end up voting in the Dem primary because that is where all the local elections take place. I lean Republican, so I may have to make a strategical decision on how to handle my voting next month.

I voted here in Michigan seems ages ago!

Jodylee 02-05-2008 05:13 PM

Hey J! You know I voted, LOL! (Even though it probably won't count)

Nevada Leftie 02-05-2008 05:16 PM

I did not vote today. I live in Florida and our primary was not today.
However, I did vote in the primary even though according to the Powers That Be, we will have no delegates seated.

GIGI69 02-05-2008 06:14 PM

Hang in there Nevada. Sounds like someone is fighting to get those delegates seated ;)

Chris 02-05-2008 06:24 PM

I voted in the first election I could after I became a citizen of the US. I feel it is my obligation to vote, as it is an honour to be living in this country. Today were the primaries in our state. I voted on my way to work, but there were very few people there when I got there. My husband and neighbours said the same thing.:(

There was something on the news tonight that said twice as many people voted in the primaries today than voted four years ago. Way to go!

Nope. Didn't vote. Of course, I'm in Texas - gotta wait until next month.

I usually vote in primaries. I need an excuse to leave work early...

I'm leaning towards Ann Romney's husband for purely non-political reasons...

I'm just happy my vote next week will matter in the Dem primary! :D

sugarboo 02-06-2008 11:24 AM

I was SOOOOOO confused about how the vote went down last night!! I finally figured out why I was confused!!! A CAUCUS!!! I've never been involved with one, so I didn't know what to do!!!!!!!!! This was the first time Alaska has held one

Turns out the Rep's and Dem's went to a local convention center and one of the middle schools. Traffic was so backed up (picture a city with a country road set up) and they had to keep extending the time for people to show up. Some left because they got tired of waiting, while others walked 2 miles to get there (in -20 weather!)

I never figured it out in time so I was 'disinfranchised'

I think they will (have) to do a better job next time....it was a disaster!!!

At least I can still vote for President in November!!

I wish we could talk a little about the Candidates here, without fussing, of course.:D I really really really don't know who I want as our next President.

I agree....what if we set some rules? My main objective is to pick the best person for the job....and the party really has little bearing at this point, IMHO! I have one issue that I realized the other day only one person supports, and he will be an unlikely runner in this election (at this point).

Maybe if we picked one topic daily, stayed on topic, and used alot of thought before posting, we could avoid bad game?
