Weather changed, what a pain?
Our weather has actually warmed up but the wind blew yesterday. On days like this I am worse off.
I was hurting in bed so bad last night, I couldn't move. Even my butt hurt. LOL. I never had felt pain there before. My thighs and legs hurt, my feet. I just don't get why weather change can make such a difference, even when it's changing for the better. Ada |
Hi Ada,
I know what you mean, the weather here changed yesterday for the better....got up to about 70 mid-day but at night it went back down to about 38 or so and today it looks as if it is going to be doing the same thing. This morning when I woke up my entire body didn't or wouldn't move. I hadn't experienced that is some time and had forgotten just how frustrating it is. Then once I was able to sit up I really wasn't sure I wanted to put my feet on the floor....but that bathroom was really calling my name...lol.....I believe that was one of the longest walks I had ever had. But I was able to lessen it when I did my relaxation routine, but my muscles are really sore and they usually aren't. I'm not sure what's going on, but I do know it's different. I feel as if I have done aerobics for 4 hours followed by 8 hours of jogging!! I don't think I will be doing very much today, might go sit out in the sun and suck up some Vitamin D, could be lacking that?? Wishing you all the best in your butt....hahahahahaha. Love, Peace & Blessings, Marla |
Hi Ada,
Here in MA it seems like the rain has not stopped and now we are getting snow. My body hurts so bad. Even the meds don't work. Places that don't hurt are worse than the RSD limb. I just wish the sun would come out! Hope you feel better. Sue K. |
Hi Marla,
i hate those trips to the bathroom too. I have way too many due to the IC and other problems.
I try to figure out what is happening at times if it's the RSD or Fibro messing with my body. I have trouble straightening out my legs at night due to not being able to get them warm enough so I think that makes a lot of my lower half pain worse. I have as much pain with the heat as I do the cold. It's in the 70's here today too. I have had to take more meds today then when it is cold. Now we know what they mean by the saying " pain in the butt". don't we. It's not only our Grandkids and kids that can be. LOL Ada |
Hi Ada,
You are so right about the "pain in the butt" not always the kids and grandkids causing it.....LOL!! Yesterday I went out and soaked up some sun rays and I felt so much better last night. I am thinking I am going to try it again today and and see how I feel tonight.....may be cause to get a membership at that spa or invest in my own sauna after all....hahahahaha, wonder if I could sell that to my husband, it's worth a try.....lol Love, Peace & Blessings, Marla |
Hi Marla,
I think a spa would be a great ideal for you. Convince your hubby by going somewhere where you can both go a couple of times then maybe he will buy you one.
I am dreading the summer sun at this point. The heat bothers me as much as the cold. Today I am on extra meds and using patches. I do love summer but not at this point. Ada |
Hi Everyone,
The weather here is getting worse by the minute. Today we are getting snow, ice, and then rain, rain, rain, tommorow. The pain will just not let go. I don't think I CAN STAND IT ANYMORE. Sue K. |
Hi Sue,
Sorry you are having such a bad day. It's around 50 here today.
Yesterday was very nice and I was in so much pain, I called my PCP and I'm going in tomorrow for TPI's. I just can't stand it either. Hope you are feeling better soon though. Ada |
Hi Sue....I am so sorry you are having such horrible pain because of the weather. I hope you get some relief soon!!
Hi Ada, I hope you get some relief as well, this weather is causing havoc all over the place.....UGH!! You know the temp here was up in the 70's for 3 days and it wasn't a "hot" 70, there was a cool breeze along with it. I had sat out in the sun a couple days, but something really weird started happening to me that I had never experience before, so tell me if any of you have had this happen to you before..... It seemed like when I was getting warmer from the outside temp, I felt as if there were swords being stuck in me from head to toe and back up again. It was horrible!! Needless to say I can back in the house and turned on the fan to cool off and it went away. I really don't think I want that experience again, but I am curious if that has happened to anyone else.?? Have an Amazing day!! Love, Peace & Blessings, Marla |
Hi Marla,
That is exactly the feelings I get in the heat. I feel like I am being stuck with needles all over or like I have electrical zaps going through me.
I cannot handle the heat at all. I just turned on a fan because it is hot here today. I am miserable when it is like this. I can't stand to get out into the sun. I use to like to lay out but can't do it now. I really don't know if this is part of the RSD or something else going on. My Dr. has PN in his feet and we talk about this all of the time. My whole body feels like his feet do. Burning pain, zaps, you name it. He opens a window for us when I go in there because he knows I can't handle heat even in the winter months. Ada |
It has been warm enough earlier this week I was able to sit on my front porch & follow the sun across it to keep my achy breaky feetsies warm & read to my hearts content. Until the sun no longer hits the porch anyway *LOL* I have not been able to do that since last Oct. One of my favorite things to do. Today when we woke up it was way cloudy but didn't rain or anything. In fact the sun started shining again before noon. It was about 10 dgs cooler today. I have problems keeping my feet warm in weather like this, but it beats the super cold we had about a week ago. In fact we have damage to our car from a week ago Tuesday (yesterday). Enough our ins. has to fix it damn it, & we have to come up with $500 cash. Sheesh!!! We sure could have used it for something else.... A slab of ice & snow slid off the roof of our darn garage & hit our engine hood & dented it to heck. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Always something tho huh?
So I am glad that weather is hopefully over for the season here, but it could still get cold & snow again. I have seen it snow clear up thru April before our here on the West Slope of the Sierra Mtn's. My pain is also wayyyyyyyyyyyy improved. And that is always helpful to me. Well I need to go see about a short snooze before TV this evening. Hang in there, peoples, hoping it gets better for all of you. DebbyV |
Hi Debby,
They're calling for 4 to 8 inches of snow here tonight. We have not seen the whole ground around here for at least 2 months. I'm ok with it though, as I said, I can't handle the heat.
I went tonight and got Triggerpoint injections in my chest area and my left hip area. It's been hot today so I have been miserable. Marla, I am thinking that this thing we are dealing with where we have these problems with the heat is not part of RSD. I think it's something else going on. Ada |
Hi Ada,
I am not sure if it is RSD related either. I have not experienced that the entire time being diagnosed with RSD, but recently it is difficult for me to determine what pain goes with what diagnosis....hahahaha, it's enough to make your head spin!!!! My meds have not changed since being diagnosed with Fibro, or MS, but with the Osteo they did put me on a Actonel, but that is the only change, well other than the added diagnosis'......hahahahaha I appreciate you letting me know that it is something that happens to others, so now I can figure out a way to make it go away...hahahaha. Of course I won't have to worry much about that for the next couple days around here.... Have an Amazing Day!! Love, Peace & Blessings, Marla |
Hi Ada,
It very well could be something else going on, but what makes you think that? Did you ask your doctor when you went to get your injections? How did that go for you by the way? Smoothly I hope. Well, we need to find out what the heck it is then, because you are right, it is horrible!!!! Talk with you soon. Love, Peace & Blessings, Marla |

Ada, sorry you are having such a rough time of it, I hope things improve for you soon. Not too long ago I also had pain in my butt, both hips, both knees, both shoulders. both wrists and hands. Darn arthritis and that stupid sciatic nerve. With a body like this I should qualify for social security as my body felt like it way 120 yrs old.LOL I dealt with it for 6-7 weeks and then it just mostly let up. That was better than winning the lottery. LOL Take Care of yourself I know it is hard. Marilyn

Hi Marla,
My visit went great as usual. He's been my Dr. for almost 18 years and he's been my friend for about 10. He gave me my injections in my chest. That's the first time I have needed them in a couple of years. I've been doing too much at the computer so I believe I got my Thoracic Outlet going again. He'll keep giving me shots until we get it calmed down. The pain was in my left shoulder, my neck, and down my left chest area all the way to my breast. He gave me 4 injections. No cortizone though. Then he gave me some in my left thigh area.
We talked after that because he councels me too. I am still having a hard time over Bill and too dealing with two teenage boys. They both have girlfriends now, which is ok. Travis has taught them all he can about what's right and wrong in a relationship but my oldest was having problems with some of his friends and what they do so he's had to quit hanging around so many of them anymore. I think though now he is getting back to his normal self. Also he is 14. My Dr. said he was going through his puberty and had to figure out what was going on there. Like everyone else said on here money has been an issue since losing Bill but hopefully that will improve soon. As far as what's going on and what makes me think it's something else is because other people I have noticed don't have the problems with the warm weather that I have had. Mine has been going on for about 4 years now. You mentioned MS, I never thought about that. I was diagnosed with MS about 2 years ago. I don't know if that would be a symptom of that or not. With me too, if it's out there I'm going to get it. That's one reason I quit going to Drs. I'd go for one thing and then they'd tell me I had another. I go to the ones that help me with the worst of it and my PCP helps me with all of it so that's enough for me. We deal with whatever is acting up at the time. I did forget to ask him about that new myalgia he diagnosed me with but I will do that when I see him again. I hope this don't continue with you, if it does you won't have a good summer. As I told you, I can't stand the heat and if I go out for any length of time, I am popping my Methadone and coming back in. I have never took the Actonel. I don't know if it could be doing that to you. There are some meds though that you can't get into the sun with. Country Mom, It is like winning the lottery when one of our pains give up. lol. As far as SS, yes you should be on it. I hope you have put in for it. I fought mine for years and then our State Rep got it for me in a week. You should try for it. As far as the weather, the snow missed us. I don't know if that's good or bad for me. It's been in the 60's here and that isn't good for me. Ada |
I inquired about SS but was told I didn't have my credits in the right time period as I qiut working when I had my son 15 yrs ago except waitressing for a short time when we built our home. When we had the farm I did not treat myself as an employee and therefore did not pay into SS. So I have the 20 credits but in the wrong timeframe therefore I do not qualify. Bummer, huh? I guess someone else gets to use that money I paid into SS, oh well. Sorry about the loss of your husband, I am sure it is tough on you and your sons. I hope your money issues improve soon. Your plate is so full. Hang in there Marilyn
