MRI Tuesday
This is my 2 year check up. I was dx in '97. My MRIs have been exactly the same ever since, only one lesion in the Pons area. I don't feel any different so i don't anticipate any change. My sister says that I don't have the same activity tolerance as I have. I said that maybe I have just maybe showed my true tolerance to my family and have giveb in a little bit.
Only problem is that it's 8:30 AM!!!!!!!! I am not a morning person. Maybe it will help me sleep through it more. |

I'll tell you how mine goes if you tell me about your's :D Hugs to both of us. |
good luck for the MRI and the early morning start!

I'm confused. This is your two year check-up, but you were dx in 1997 . . .? Does that mean you've only gotten bi-annual check-ups (not annual) over the last 10 yrs?
I also don't understand what you mean by "My sister says that I don't have the same activity tolerance as I have. I said that maybe I have just maybe showed my true tolerance to my family and have giveb in a little bit." Good luck on your MRI and hope everything has remained status quo. :) Cherie |
You'll do fine, Doyd! Maybe they'll have some cool graffiti in the tube, one of ours does and I love it!
|
Good luck, doydie! Here's hoping for a good result! :)

Good luck tomorrow Doydie! Just pretend your'e lying on a beach in the Tropics. Maybe a cute technician will rub lotion on your back for you.

:Good-Luck:
Hope you get a good report |
Well with the major winter storm that hit us yesterday, I had to cancel. It is rescheduled for Friday eve.
Yes Cherie. My nuero does every two year MRIs if everything is OK. I was having problems in '99 and 2000 and she did a couple of extra. I had been able to put on a false facwe with my family for a long time and I have just decoded that I can't do that anymore. Plus two grandkids are a lot different than one especially with the second one so much bigger than the first. We say that Trinity was a china doll and Ellie is a Gerber baby. She is just a hunk and I can't do the same. Well I try to do the same and it wears me out enough that the family notices! |

Thinking of you in either case. |
I'm not worried about it at all. I don't think I have changed in the last 2 years. I'm just glad I don't have to get up so early. My only problem now is that 8 PM is part of the day that I am very much awake and alert. The 8:30 AM appointment would have let me doze some.

I wish you well dodie. I did mine yesterday and it was a breeze. Hope your's is the same! :) |
When i was dx in '97, I was in that tube 11 times during that week. I can take it one more time.

Doydie - Good luck this evening. I had an MRI on Tuesday. I will find out the results today.
If you feel anxious about the MRI let the neuro know and they can prescribe a sedative (of course you will need a designated driver). I am so incredibly claustrophobic that I always go sedated. One time, I thought I would be "brave" and tough it out. NOT. They had to pull me out of the tube twice. On the 2nd time the gave me a Xanax to put under my tongue (works faster - within 15 minutes). No more being brave for me; sedated is how I do it. I also let the techs know. I lay as still as possible - didn't even want to swallow. LOL Tuesday's MRI was done in less than 40 minutes (head and C-spine) and she said she got great pictures. As for the slowing down, it is part of aging as well. Although I am in my 40's some days I feel like I'm in my 70's, physically and cognitively. LOL. Hang in there. It is OK to slow down some. |

Good luck tonight Doydie. I wasn't aware there was a limit to how many times you can go through! I've only had 3, so am in no danger of having too many at this stage. |

Good luck tonight Doyd!!!! Let us know how it went. |
Koala, there are no limits as to how many times you can have an MRI. I said that to say if I could do 11 in one week, I can do this 1 this week.
They had another person scheduled to have an MRI about a half hour ahead of me and he was slow filling out his paper work. So they put me in the back up machine. It's a mobile MRI and I could tell the exterior walls to the small room it was in were quite cold. Also they couldn't hook music into me!!!!! So this was my first one without any music. I just hope the back up machine took as good pictures. They told me I could have waited for the other machine but when I left, he was still in it. |

Thanks for that. I seem to have misunderstood. Quote:
Sorry the other machine was cold, and no music!! Woody Woodpecker at your brain without any music to cover it up? Drat! I guess when you learnt the other guy was still in there, you were rather glad you took the other option. Good luck with the results. Hope you don't have to wait long. |
I called the neuro office today to see if I was to bring in the films or a CD of the MRI which I had never heard of. The nurse said that the doctor had told her to telll me that the MRI was stable and that one of the lesions had even shrunk. My response to that was that I had never known I had more than one lesion!!!!! She sort of went, oops I'm sorry. I told her that I'm not concerned because I'm doing fine and will discuss the issue with her at my appointment on the 28th. What I am concerned with is that she had never told me I had an increase in lesions at some point in the last 11 years. I do remember at one of my latest appt's she discussing with me that she was wondering whether I did have MS since I had only one lesion for so long and MS means multiple. So she has some explaining to do.
