Happy V.D. everyone!!!
My Dear Mom always signed her valentines to me: Happy V.D. It made us both smile and snicker. Now she's gone and I've signed the cards to my girls Happy VD!
What did your DV (dear valentine) do to show you that you're loved? Mine left me long-stemmed STRAWBERRIES! Yum! |
Happy Valentine's Day!!! :circlelove:
My DH and I don't celebrate Valentine's Day so it's just another day for us. We don't need a special day to show how much we love each other. We do celebrate it with our DD, and I will be making her a special cookie cake today and give it to her with a present! This way I get to have goodies!!!! |
:pHappy Valentines Day Twink.
My dh got me believin today is just a hallmark day:eek: I think he might be tellin me a story:shocked: have a great day |
Twinkle, please tell me she didn't do this when you were a high schooler!! I would have died of embarrassment!!!

I'm a lucky girl.....
My DH treats me like a princess everyday, so I can't imagine anything more on Valentine's Day. Today, he did tell me to rest while he cleaned up the kitchen and folded the laundry. He also went to the grocery store and made dinner tonight. But that"s not unusual really. He shows me how much he loves me every day, much more than any amount of flowers or candy ever could. :inlove:
|
Another Happy Valentines' Day greeting here.
Wish every day could be a day to celebrate love and kindness. |
Just another excuse to buy myself some chocolates. I wait until the day after to get them half off. Shame on me.

This little piggy wears its heart on its hind
Thu Feb 14, 2008 1:37pm GMT LONDON (Reuters) - A heart-shaped black mark on one little piggy could just save it from being sent to market this Valentine's Day. http://img165.imageshack.us/img165/4...6652430cu5.jpg The Gloucester Old Spot breed normally have a smattering of black splodges on their pink bodies, but a piglet born on a farm in Gloucestershire has a perfectly formed heart shape on her hind quarters. Born just before February 14th, the piglet has predictably been named Valentine by farmer Eric Freeman, who says love must have been in the air when Valentine's mother conceived. http://uk.reuters.com/article/domest...49581820080214 |
I got a ScoobyDoo VD card from thecatsmeow today! Thanks Joyce!
Glad everyone had a happy day. And yes, you're right Twizzler: we should show our love for each other every day ... but I still like to get flowers. :) Makes me feel spayshul! An aside: I was getting a pedicure last night when there was a knock at the door. Steve, my Vietnamese nail tech, answered it, but here was no one there. He called out to some giggling girls who told him to look on his porch. They had left a cute plate of goodies and signed their names on a card. Steve was absolutely mystified. Why hadn't they stayed? Why had they run away? He wasn't really sure who they were, even though I read him the names (he can speak English, but doesn't read it). It is a peculiar tradition, and I couldn't help but laugh when I tried to explain it to him. Steve had already explained a Vietnamese tradition to me just before the knock. He wants to go home and see his extended family, but can't afford it. No, it's not the plane ticket to Vietnam --he could afford that. But you don't just show up from USA without bearing gifts for everyone! And "everyone" includes not just your family, but your girlfriend and her whole family. It would cost him about $5,000 in gifts alone just to visit! |
O.k., I did a double take on that title.....>>>>>Happy V.D. everyone!!! <<<<<
Happy Venereal Disease!!!! Huh??? Then it hit me...Valentine's Day :( Guess I should have figured that out sooner. My sweetie took me to Ristorante Avanti on the West side of Santa Cruz. We've been going there on V.D. (uh, that's Valentine's Day, not Venereal Disease) for about 12 years. I had champagne, bruschetta, mixed chickories with gorganzola and apples, chicken caccitore (spelling), polenta, creme brulee, some wonderful red wine and a glass of port that was older than I was!!! Yummy  |

I got a nice card, roses in a vase, and a nice box of chocolates. :heartthrob: Tonight we're having our champagne. :inlove: |

I lived in the Santa Cruz area for years (Aptos, Capitola, and even near the Beach BOARDWALK for a few months) glad you enjoyed an incredibly luscious and delicious-sounding dinner. your menu made me totally salivate, you lucky duck! |

We were practically neighbors!!! Well...I guess not "technically"...but *almost*!!! I can't believe you live almost around the world, but you lived practically in my backyard!!! It really IS a small world! |
I wished one gal at work "a Happy VD" and she rolled. She e-mailed me back and said that I had no idea how many people she wished a "Happy VD" (including her brother). Gotta wonder what's under people's smiles, huh? :D
My honey treated me well. I got two beautiful cards, played hooky for lunch in bed (mmm.... Thai food with desert of mango and sweet rice), got a pair of earrings (he has great taste in jewelry), and a 4 piece box of Godiva. Now everything was great, but I told him he only got the 4 piece box because he knew there was an exact split--2 for each of us. For that, I got an evil grin. I realized that I'm dating myself. |
