Nosey Neighbors

i feel let down that i have fallen prey to nosey neighbors. one such neighbor actually spies on people and reports it to the hub of information apartment here. I can not believe that one such person who is host to the hub of information has lied to me as fast as she could think of the lie to make excuses for her 2nd hand the spy. It upsets me that I haven't seen it before and fell into their trap. It upsets me that the one who was lying to me today to make excuses for the snoop was once someone I trusted.

Oh it is so unpleasant to have conflict.
I avoid negative people if I can....hard to stay away from immediate neighbors though.....

Hi,

I don't have any suggestions.
But I'm wondering if you could stop needing to control it and instead let it go on. Let it grow and become its own animal feeding off itself. Each neighborhood has its own personality and flavor.

Or ignore me.
I say hello to my neighbors. I don't know what they say about me.

Well, this neighbor thing is keeping me up.

Bizi, I never liked conflict either.

Mari, it would not be so bad but the one neighbor is so bad that she will pick at me over and over to dig personal information out of me. Then she brushes it off when I complain saying she doesn't care what people know about her but then again she doesn't tell a whole lot about herself.

Dear Befuddled,

That neighbor is a weird one.
I hope you get some good sleep tonight anyway.

Barb

Tell her hello, and anything about the weather you would like her to
know.

Also anything about the cold or how you feel. LIke I've got a cold today.

Or I need a flu shot so I'm headed to my doctor. THings like this.

Or if you are wanting to plant some flowers maybe say. I sure wish I
had a extra $5.00 to buy some pretty pick a type of flowers to plant
today.

And then politely say oh look at the time, I've got to go.

Good point Donna, but she will drill me like a seargeant to ask me personal questions. I made the mistake of telling her a little about my husband's estate and ever since then she's been hell bend and determined to keep up with it. I needed someone to talk to but neighbors are not the ones to talk with I am finding out.

Have a few excuses made up so if she starts in just say "oops gotta go do something"

or even if you see her coming glance at your watch and make the
" oh no, I'm late, or forgot something look" and turn away and go somewhere else.

sooner of later she will get the message that you aren't gonna talk with her about personal things - or much of anything.

Those are good excuses Jo. Thanks.

Hi Donna,

Things are not better with some of the same neighbors but I have found new freinships with other neighbors that had been developing over the past couple of weeks.
