You gotta love Verizon!!!
I say this in jest. But in this particular case. YOU GOTTA LOVE VERIZON!!! Why?
Well for some time, my phone bill IS NEVER WHAT IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE. Never. Every month I have to call and speak to a person (try getting a live one), and I always get it changed to what it's supposed to be. So last month, same channel, same story. So I got this lovely lady who says "because you are a valued Verizon Customer, I'm sending you a 100 point Verizon prepaid Gift card. I said Oh, Thank you. (not knowing what the heck a 100 point prepaid gift card was). So it came a few weeks ago, and I look at it and I read the instructions and 100 points equals $100.00. Of course we got all excited thinking this is a $100 prepaid card. HOWEVER...it can only be used in participating companies. So they give me this insert which lists all the companies. Mostly furniture companies (I have no need of this), children's clothing companies (I have no need of this), and other such stuff. So we put away the card and said "oh someday, we'll use it". Welll I've been looking to buy the Shark Steam Mop. In the commerical on tv it's $79.99. plus delivery, etc. So I'm thinking today, let me see if I can get what I need at one of these participating companies. BINGO. Linen N Things is a participating company and they have a AS SEEN ON TV department. I just ordered the Shark Steam Mop. ISN'T THIS A HOOT!!! OH, yesterday my item from ebay came in the mail. I bought a BONZAI food chopper dicing, mincing thing with 3 plastic containers, brand new, sealed. Guess how much I paid on ebay?? I won the auction .....$.99 cents and $7.00 shipping and handing. That's right. Total cost was $7.99 for an item that sells online for $19.99 plus shipping and handling. It arrived yesterday. I am absolutely delighted. And today, I got the SHARK STEAM MOP (thank you Verizon gift card people). I mean, miracles do happen to me, SOMETIMES!!!! Take care, Melody |
Congratulations Melody! Verizon screwed up my bill last month and gave me 500 free minutes this month...do you think I could use them all...I tried. I wish they would have left them for me to use over a period of time rather than just in one month!

Let us know how that steam cleaner works! I need one of those! If it works like they say it does, I want to bag my house and steam it whole! (it's a very little house!)
Oddly enough, I also want to know if I can steam food in a pinch with it too...:p |
Interesting ...
Actually I had GTE; and Verizon bought out GTE
therefore ~ we didn't have an option. So Verizon was on the horizon for us. Since Al Gore invented the internet ... *laughs* I did some research on Verzion ... and I was like "(ahem) ... so far - it looks like Verizon has lost its horizon ... from all the reports and findings that I was reviewing ..." So trust me, we were N-E-R-V-O-U-S ... as what to 'expect' ~ 1st month came, 6 months came, 3 years came, more years came - "Hey! Verizon's pretty awesome!!" I said to myself ~ I was wondering where and why these people were making such drastic and hideous reports? Then it dawned on me that majority of the employees at Verizon were GTE employees! Oh D'oh! I suddenly felt like Homer Simpson! :Bang-Head: I never was so embarrassed! |

JUST IN TIME FOR SPRING CLEANING!!! :D Will we ever see you again since you've gotten your brand new toy??? :( PS: When you're done, want to do practice on my house to make sure it really works really good? ( ::: crosses fingers and hopes Melody falls for it ::: ) |
I'm thinking about buying that Steam Mop - I have a coupon for 20% off at Linens 'N Things. It's $79.99 there, too.
Let us know how you like it. Is it really everything they say it is? Seems like you'd have to fill up the water reserve frequently but as long as it heats up quickly that's OK. I hope it's a good product because it looks like a great way to clean hard wood floors without using chemicals. I'm always afraid to use chemical products because of my pets. Glad you got a good deal from Verizon!! I have the same problem with AT&T each month but never get the offer of a gift card. Maybe I'll tell them this month when I call to get my bill straightened out that I'm going to switch to Verizon because even though they can't get the bill right either at least they give me a prize!! |
This is for everybody who has had a problem with their phone bills, dsl service, or ANYTHING HAVING TO DO WITH VERIZON.
Get a rep on the phone. Complain a bit, and then say sweetly. "don't you have a promo going on where you give out 100 point American Express Gift Cards". Explain your financial situation and your disability. Chances are you will get a compassionate person who will say "We are running a promotion and we are sending you a 100 point gift card". Give it a try. Let me know what happens. Oh, I just ordered the mop yesterday. When it arrives, I'll do a demonstration via webcam. I'll upload it to youtube, and you can see for yourself how it works. I love youtube. I have various videos up there on stuff I bought. If any of you haven't seen any of my videos, (me and my hubby), and me explaining how I love the PEDEGG.(and believe me, the PEDEGG), is the best thing since sliced bread, I'll post a link to my infomercials on youtube. I ADORE INFORMERCIALS. I must have every gadget. But I use them. I have the one touch can opener, the grabber, the lightbulbs, Now I just got the Bonzai Chopper, I have the Tater Mitts. WHAT DON'T I HAVE!!!! lol |

MY DH called them a zillion times but they never could do a thing. So....when he's near a store he opens the door and says "Can you hear me now?". IT's all what works for you or in your area. We went with SunCom which will soon be T-Mobile. So far we love the service, but the phone sucks. Oh well....it's a toss up. Melody: let me know how that shark steam thingy works....I wanted one and I have wondered. Tootsie |

I doubt I'll ever go back to the salon for a pedicure again! This little gadget works wonders. :) |
i have been using steam cleaners for 9 years, we use them in our gym too. combine that with micro fiber towels..you have sparkling clean..germ free everything. :D i have 2 commercial grade ones by euro pro. lots of fun attachments. :D
on wood floors, be sure to not leave it in any area for very long. you can ruin the finish. just glide across. i think the one you are getting is just for floors. when you get hooked..i bet you will get a small hand held. it's worth it. you save so much in cleaning products. |
I just ordered it online from Linens "N Things and opted for the store pickup so I will go later this afternoon to get it! I can't wait to try it out on my hardwood floors! :D
|
I have been debating a steam cleaner but hubby did not think it was for real and would really clean well. Think I will try again.
|
try some boiling water on your shower track...it will make a believer out of him.

why buy anything?
you could use prepaid phones |
I have a Shark steam cleaner and love it. Mine is not only for floors but everything else too. I use it on everywhere. It makes cleaning the microwave and refrigerator so easy. I do windows with it.
It is at DBF's rental as we have been using it there to clean up. I miss having it at home. The downfall is that mine is the portable kind that you put on your shoulder. It doesn't work well when you balance is off. LOL. (You can set it down which is what I do). They have a new one on wheels that I have been thinking of buying and letting DBF keep the other one. Cloudz - Prepaid is a great option for an occasional user. I have been using Alltel for years on a prepaid service as they had the best deal AND your minutes don't expire after 90 days like some plans. I just now switched to a "plan" but since I have been with Alltel for so long I did not have to sign a contract. |
I think the Pedegg is the single most inventive and useful gadget I have ever used. My feet never looked better. I LOVE THIS LITTLE THING!!

I wish I could find a hand held steamer THAT ACTUALLY WORKED!!!
I just threw mine out. I had it for over 5 years. I think it was called "My little Steamer", I really can't remember the exact name of it. You fill it with water, wait a certain amount of time, then you bring it over (it had a long long cord), and it was supposed to get in the grout, get in the oven, well it was supposed to STEAM CLEAN anywhere the steam went. The only trouble is IT DIDN'T STEAM FOR MORE THAN TWO MINUTES. I kept pressing the button thingee but no steam came out. I tried this numerous times, but then kept it in the closet. I had all kinds of attachments. Never worked right. Can anyone recommend a good little hand held steamer. When they work, they WORK GREAT!!! The thing is to find one that WORKS!!!! lol |
Save the Environment!
I have a very small hand held steamer
that I use to clean windows, dry clean garments, shower, stains out of rugs, etc ... while it's small, it doesn't hold much water. It's a mini-Steam Zapper. I also bought 2 more - one for my mom and sister - 5 years ago; as Christmas gifts and they adore it and have used it, my sister uses it more than both of use and it saves her a lot of time with the ironing. I DO have a Hoover Steam Vacuum, with 5 power brushes - and it's 4-5 years old now (and my mom, sister, and some neighbors/friends have borrowed it). While it is EXPENSIVE piece of equipment, I'm allergic to dust - I use it twice a year and it also cleans upholstery and drapery (but I don't have any drapery except for the dry clean ones in my bedroom which I use the steamer for that one) .. I found out that the hand head attachments will clean the vertical blinds with it! COOL! Is it worth the money? ABSOLUTELY! If you're allergic to dust, dander, etc - it's worth it and will pay for itself. But always remember to vacuum thoroughly first before and if necessary: I usually use a little ammonia and Mr. Clean or Spic and Span and a scrub brush to clean some tough stains off if any. Then run the Steam Vac. I've thought about buying the Steam Shark, but this mini-Steam Zapper does just fine. I recommend it - it saves you $$$$ on having to buy CHEMICALS and you get to save the environment! |

Trust me, the first time you use this little gizmo, you are going to say to yourself "where has this been all my life".
I am going to buy another one and use it for grating veggies on my salad. It's so easy and I AM a sucker for the latest gadgets!!! |
