Chris??

How are you feeling, Dear One? Any better? Is the Pneumonia still attacking you? Momma Sally is worried about you....

AfterMyNap 03-10-2008 10:44 AM

I've been wondering about our cheeky one as well. Chrappy? Are you still feeling crappy?

DM 03-10-2008 02:05 PM

*looking behind sofa, under table.... Oh Chrappy??? How ya feeling?

I did see you have been posting, BUT you have not reported in to us.

*tapping fingers*

tovaxin_lab_rat 03-10-2008 02:13 PM

Hi Chris

How are you doing? Check in when you can...

SallyC 03-10-2008 06:52 PM

Tapping foot, wringing fingers...waiting.....Oh, Chrissssssssssssss, are you there?

SallyC 03-11-2008 02:26 PM

OK, I see your little Thank Yous, so I know you're alive, but, other than that, how was the play?:D

Chris 03-11-2008 02:27 PM

Thank you, you lot. I just returned from the Dr. AGAIN!:( I have to take another 3 days of antibiotics. I am still wheezing. I'm exhausted still, and have to go back again on Friday. If I'm not any better, they are going to send me to an Infectious Disease physician. I'm sick of being sick.:o

Thanks for asking and for caring. I haven't been on much as I've been sleeping so much. Has anyone else had pneumonia like this? I'm going mad here.

AfterMyNap 03-11-2008 02:31 PM

Aw, there's our little Chrappy! Poor kid, I'm so sorry that this junk is kicking the Chrap out of you.:( Thanks for checking in, now get your bum back in bed!

*brewing up some nice barley water*

SallyC 03-11-2008 02:34 PM

You Poor Thing....This doth Suckith....sheesh..

Maybe they could cure you faster in the Hospital? You aren't on any DMDs or IVSM or anything that could lower your resistance to infection, are you?

Feel better Honey....Sending all the good thoughts, I can muster.

D You aren't

Chris 03-11-2008 02:48 PM

Thank you Sally and Cindy. I'm not on any DMD's or IVSM. I was to have started on Tysabri at the beginning of this month but we put it off until I am well. I think I probably got this from the hospital now that I look back at it, so going to be a patient in one is hopefully now what they are thinking about. I think they are going to send me to the Infectious Disease doc because they are worried I may not be on the correct antibiotic. I'll know more on Friday.

I've been in bed. I think I'm beginning to get bed sores. I can't even make it awake for more than an hour at a time. Poor Michael, I think he has lost at least 10 lbs. between having to wait on me, and not eating well. But, he's a good egg.:)

All the best to you,
Chris

Riverwild 03-11-2008 04:36 PM

Awww Chris,

I am sorry you are feeling so crappy! Hurry up and get well soon!

Taffy 03-11-2008 04:41 PM

Rest up! Do what the Docs say!

DM 03-11-2008 04:58 PM

Well, that just stinks that you aren't feeling better yet!!

My DS is on his 3rd antibiotic. *He's immunosuppressant and hasn't been able to kick the bug*

I hope you feel better soon, Chris.... I'm thinking of ya!!
Poor lil Chrappy!!!!

Chris 03-12-2008 11:28 AM

Thank you all so very much for your sentiments. I just got up because the doorbell rang. I am in a t-shirt and a pair of Michael's boxers. I thought it was the UPS man who was just leaving a package. I answered the door, and there stood the landscapers:eek:. I think they were as shocked as I was. I have my hair on top of my head in a ponytail, and I think my coulouring is a nice pale grey from being in for so long. They wanted to ask about pruning a tree, but instead they got this horribly looking hag anwering the door.:D

I don't think they'll be back soon. I had to laugh, it was mad funny. I was hoping Cheryl was around to ask her. I suppose I'll leave her a message. I had no idea what to tell them, so they are going to wait until next week. the weather here has been just lovely. I hope it is getting better for all of you, and I hope all of you are doing well.

All the best,
Chris

SallyC 03-12-2008 01:31 PM

Too funny, Chris...Been there done that...The prison pallor adds that special touch.. :D

Thanks for the spring wishes...It's 45 degress right now and tomorrow will be in the 50s.....Snow is melting...Yippy Kai Yeaaaaaaa..:p

Chris 03-12-2008 06:46 PM

It's about time, Sally. I kept watching the news, and seeing all of the weather you've been coping with. It's so lovely to at least look out the windows and see the flowers and the trees blooming.:)

SPRING IS ALMOST HERE!

How is your son doing DM? I hope he is starting to feel better soon too. This gets OLD very quickly.:(

AfterMyNap 03-12-2008 07:40 PM

Well, I sure do hope that this means that our little Chrappy is feeling a little more cheeky now.

*making another batch of barley water*

It must be my barley water!:Blush2:

He's still sick, Chris~~ The sinus/cold/ear thing he has been fighting for the past couple of months is now bronchitis. I am concerned as he had a Timpanogram & hearing test last Fri and there is neg pressure behind his ear drums.... W/his visual impairment, I just can't fathom his hearing being compromised too. Thanks so much for asking.

Now, just have to get the DD through her labwork tomorrow to check kidney function. No wonder I'm stressed... Sorry for going on..

Hope you are better today.....

tovaxin_lab_rat 03-13-2008 10:33 AM

Looking up how and when to prune trees in Atlanta. Will have answer for Chris today! Yikes!

Hope you are feeling better soon Chris!

I'm sorry DM.:o How are your son and daughter faring today? I'm going to the Dr. again tomorrow. I washed my hair today, so I wouldn't scare him away tomorrow too.:D I'm still VERY tired, but I'm trying to stay up more during the daytime, as I've been having a terrible time sleeping. Whatever this thing is, it's NASTY!!:(

Thanks Cheryl. I just read your Tovaxin thread, and that's FABULOUS! Thank you for being our lab rat!:)

AfterMyNap 03-18-2008 09:45 AM

Chrappy, honey, you fell to page three! Are you okay? Please tell us that you're not in the hospital or in a plastic bubble in some freaky science lab at the CDC!

SallyC 03-18-2008 10:18 AM

What she said.....

Chris 03-18-2008 05:21 PM

I'm here!:) One of the other midwives I work with came over today and brought lunch. She told me that a patient of mine (I delivered her last baby just about a year ago) is due with TRIPLETS!. I'm not going to be able to take care of her because she is now considered "high-risk", but I just got off the phone with her, and she is going to ask the neonatologists if I can be at the delivery. I am SO excited!!! Triplets!!! I almost wanted to ask if she would lend us one, but I didn't have the nerve to ask....:o

I go back to the Dr. tomorrow. My last dose of IV antibiotic is in the morning, and I'm feeling lots better. Thanks so much for your concern. I do appreciate it.:)

Riverwild 03-19-2008 02:13 AM

Glad to hear you are finally feeling better ya lil' Limey!!:D

And TRIPLETS???

( how weird am I that I would LOVE to be in the delivery room?)

That's about one of the only things I never had the pleasure of dealing with on the ambulance...I used to beg women to call us so we could get a stork on the side of our rig...no one would wait until it was too late to go to the hospital...ungrateful, I tell ya!

Chris 03-19-2008 12:50 PM

:mad:They just cancelled my appointment! I was so ready to hear that I am fine, and to get the "OK" to go back to work. They rescheduled my appointment for tomorrow at 1:30. It's raining like the dickens again, so I suppose it best that I stay home again today.:(

Chris 03-20-2008 05:30 PM

:Excited:We are back from the Dr. and from getting another chest x-ray. I'm CURED of the Pneumonia!!!! Yeah! No more antibiotics, no more nebulizer treatments, and I was cleared to return to work on MONDAY!!!:D

Thank all of you for your kind thoughts these past few weeks. I don't know what I would have done without you lot. Michael is taking me out to dinner tomorrow night.:D He's going to be watching a bunch of basketball games tonight, but I'm fine with that, as I'm still quite tired. I suppose it will take me a while to gain my strength back. Thank you all again for everything. I hope everyone is doing well, and has a lovely Easter weekend.:grouphug:

All the best,
Chris

AfterMyNap 03-20-2008 06:09 PM

That is great news, Chris! You must be so relieved to be past all that junk! I'm so happy, I think I'll take a nap!!!

Thank you Cheryl. Are you still not feeling well? I hope you will be able to make it to your last appointment for your trial. When is it? I'll send you good thoughts in the meantime. I hope you don't have what I had. We're just starting to get insurance bills, and so far we owe over $900.00 on my Pneumonia fun. I can't imagine what it finally cost everyone in the end. I must have a set of very expensive lungs as of now.

Fell better soon!!!!

All the best,
Chris

Chris
I'm doing fine. Getting used to this walking cast. It's day 4, 10 more to go.

My nephews son was born today, 7lb 13oz. It officially makes me a Great Aunt.

He was due Monday, but didn't want to leave his comfort zone. :D They induced labor Thurs nite and this morning after he stayed distressed, they did a c-section. His name is Andrew Tristan and his nickname is Tigger. My sister wants him to be a Tigger, not an Eeyore.

My sisters and I are planning a road trip to Iowa to visit in late April. We will have a "shower" for her then. Hopefully I will finish the baby blanket I've been crocheting for 3 months by then.

A snow storm is heading our way, they are saying 4-8 inches. So if you wouldn't mind, I'd sure appreciate some sunshine if you can spare it. Thanks in advance.

Poor Chrappy, honey, you fell all the way down to page 4!:( I guess that now you're feeling better and have your life back, us gimpy types can only dream.

*choke, sniffle sniffle*

:icon_cry:No! That's not it at all, Cindy. I am so tired  everyday when I get in from work, and on my days off that all I've been able to do is sleep. I'm so angry. I don't know if I should have waited another week to go back or if something else is going on. Yesterday, I got home at 5:15, crawled into bed for a short nap, and didn't awaken until after midnight!

I think I've scared Michael out of his wits, so he's made reservations at a Bed and Breakfast not too far from here, and we're leaving tomorrow after he gets in from the office. I'm planning on packing a few books, and staying in bed the entire time we're gone. This has gone on long enough. It's so lovely here this time of year, and I can't even enjoy it because I can't keep my eyes open.:(

How is everyone else doing? I was going to stop in earlier this morning, but it took all my energy to do a load of laundry to get ready for the weekend. Have I mentioned lately how much I HATE MS??????:icon_sad: I honestly don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to work if things don't improve A LOT soon, and that has me quite down.
