Something We Don't Know

I am not sure if this has been done but how about sharing "Some We Don't Know About You".....

I will start....

I HATE to shop!!! I am not a woman who likes to go out and just go shopping for a day.... David says it is one of my better qualities! :p

Jodylee 03-22-2008 06:10 AM

Wow, Char! You made me realize that there's hardly anything I HAVEN'T posted about myself, LOL!! Here's one thing though: I love to read cookbooks even though I hardly ever cook anymore! Tehe. :) Great thread by the way.

AfterMyNap 03-22-2008 08:58 AM

Sometimes my MS issues really get to me.

Kitty 03-22-2008 10:08 AM

Although I don't talk about it much or show it (I don't think) I am truly frightened when I think about what my future holds.

FlyFishin Momma 03-22-2008 10:16 AM

WOW..so serious and tender girls.....

I agree JO JO I dont know what to put that I have not already told....

I am terrified of water, I dont swim well (swim like a rock)
I love flyfishin and that consists of being in the water (IN my book its the ONLY way to flyfish) and I am finding I am more and more skeered in the water....with currents and slippery rocks and any depth.....It doesn't stop me from doing it (YET) but I do get skeered.....

I secretly wish I could have a wedding planning business......
I know pretty fo fo for a country, farmin, fishin, hunting girl to wanna do THAT....HUH?

soxmom 03-22-2008 10:17 AM

In my late teens and early twenties, I was a punk rock party girl:eek:

Sox

SandyC 03-22-2008 10:18 AM

I don't hate anything but I dislike not being able to concentrate in a crowded room. As I get older the background noise distracts me.

Something I love to do is get in the car by myself, roll the windows down, crank up the tunes and sing like I am the next American Idol!

Something I may not have mentioned is I used to occasionally sing with a band when I lived in Tennessee. I wasn't part of the band but they let some of us come up. My signature song was I'll Need Someone to Hold Me When I Cry by Janie Fricke. :o

You want to deal with those "bridezillas"??? Talk about skeery!!!

FinLady 03-22-2008 11:05 AM

Wow. Gotta think of something that I haven't said yet, LOL. :D

Music is my poetry - after all, I am a child of the 80s. I listen to music when I need a pick me up. Have a little for every possible mood I could be in. I even have what my hubby calls a "theme song" for when taking my shot, LOL.

:Music 2:

AfterMyNap 03-22-2008 11:15 AM

When my fingers worked, I played bluegrass banjo in a group with friends.

kicker 03-22-2008 11:32 AM

What most said - but not the musical. I once played the cello when young and very badly. When my brothers were bad Mom punished them by making them listen to me practice. They became really good kids. My then 2-year olds would say "Mommy don't sing" also. Sigh.

SallyC 03-22-2008 11:39 AM

I was a true blue bobby soxer in the 50s. Just think of "Grease" :D I wore boys Levis and Saddle shoes:cool:....My big Bro wore a DA (know what that is?) and white buck shoes.:p

GladysD 03-22-2008 03:47 PM

Something you don't know about me...

hmmm...I know that there's quite a bit I could choose to tell you here :D

I'd have to say this.... when I was 11, I entered a drawing into a contest and was able to decorate with paint a downtown store window for Halloween :) It was pretty cool....I made a skull with crossbones surrounded by ghosts. :D

tovaxin_lab_rat 03-22-2008 05:43 PM

AZjanie 03-22-2008 06:20 PM

DH is my third husband. :p

This marriage has lasted 33 years and counting so guess I'll keep him..besides; the dog likes him!

I know this will come as a shock but I was always in trouble in school for being the "class clown". :D

Too cool Sally! BTW Grease is one of my favorites. And DA - yep, my brother wore one in his school picture. :D

MSCherokee 03-22-2008 06:46 PM

Hmm, DH is also my third husband AZJanie. And I'm thinking he's a keeper too. :p

In school I was painfully shy until my sophomore year when I started to come out of my shell. Hmm, funny that everyone I tell just can't believe I was *ever* shy. :D

suzyqz_2007 03-22-2008 07:00 PM

When I was 7 I died during surgery. Drs. almost couldn't save me.

FlyFishin Momma 03-22-2008 09:18 PM

This is fun....come on who is next to spill thier guts.......

I had a lil note on the bottom of my report cards many times during school.....

* Karen is a great student...she just visits with her neighbors a little to much*

can you believe it....ME? talks to much???? whatever...............

and.......I cannot sing nor do I play any instruments....but I sure can boogie.......

MSacorn 03-23-2008 12:24 AM

I want to start an organization for people w/MS who don't have family or don't want to be a "burden" to their family. They can live together and use their strengths helping each other. Kind of like a Real Stumble Inn.

One time I went on a tri-state meet and greet shop stop tour with Yabbit. I can swear she is truthful in her reveal here because I am SURE we WERE the fastest shoppers in Freeport Maine one day. They still jaw on it in town about them theyuh girls...

Thank you our leetle Corny, you are truly inspiring! Every one of my room-mates and I are still family and we support each other through every life event. We lost folks early and we made an agreement that we would get old and ready to rock and buy one big beach house together so we could aggravate the crap outta each other 'til one of us was left! Almost 40 years later we are still at it! I am sure that even my MS will outlive them old #$%^&*

Truly, I believe that Common Sense Housing works. It's beneficial to everyone involved if the group works. I've seen housing that was a constant stress to everyone who lived there, to actual co-op housing arrangements that have been in place and working since 1969.

Y'all posted such goood stuff, I read the whole thing!

I have a strange reaction to music or at least I have rarely talkied to anyone who reacts like I do and the usual reaction from those I mention it to is either a really weird look or they tell me I'm strange or weird.

Anyway

I know I like a song first by the music - If it's good I get goose bumps and the hair stands up on my arms.

I guess that brings up something else you don't know about me - I have hairy arms :p (not under arms )

Well, LA, I hate to admit it, but we have that in common (the music part, not the hairy arms).

I have been in the habit of buying entire soundtracks from obscure movies only because I liked the overture/credits track so much. To me, it's the melody first, the lyrics are secondary.

ewizabeth 03-23-2008 05:58 PM

I come from a family of artists. My oldest sister was good at drawing and painting. I decided to take an oil painting class with her in my late teens. It was a night class and I enjoyed our conversations to and from class and going out for a sandwich afterward. (She was really cool!)

In the class, we learned how to do six different types of paintings. My sister did all of hers quickly, and expertly. I finished one. ONE! But it's beautiful and it's hanging in the livingroom. It was my first and last attempt. :o I don't regret the experience though!

Nevada Leftie 03-23-2008 06:25 PM

I am the oldest of three girls and I am the only one who was born in the United States. I have a sister who was born in Mexico and one that was born in Venezuela. My dad was not military. My husband was and we have been lots of places. :)
I miss travelling but now we are put and only go on short hops here and there.

jmiller 03-23-2008 09:42 PM

Im huge into meterology but I go into the closet when I see lightning. Ill bring a light, my scanner and a drink til the lightning passes. I will video tape hurricanes and tornadoes but dont like lightning.

I marched with a Drum and Bugle Corps from the age of 10 until I was 21. Music is still very important to me and I agree it is the tune that comes first. Then the lyrics if there are any.

Risby 03-24-2008 07:23 AM

I would love

to spend a vacation "Storm Chasing" in Tornado Alley
I would be scared poopless but would love to see a big tornado out on the Plains.

Girlie Girl 03-24-2008 07:43 AM

I have been dancing since the age of 3. I loved it so much that I went to college for it and now I teach it. I feel like I'm 100 yrs old sometimes now when I have a flare but the kids are just so great and comforting! :Dancing-Chilli:

braingonebad 03-24-2008 06:26 PM

Hard to come up with something I haven't already fessed up to!

:p

Okay. Can NOT dance. Not at all. I'd like to but maybe I was born without that gene.

tkrik 03-24-2008 06:45 PM

Brain - I'm the same way! LOL.

I took 6 years of Spanish and can't speak a word of it.

I am really enjoying this thread - thank you so much for participating with me!

I twirled a baton when I was 10 - 15 in State & National competition. I won over 100 trophies and 350 medals. I really enjoyed it and actually taught it through the local rec department for 8 years. Haven't twirled in many many years though.....

Jappy 03-24-2008 07:14 PM

I learned to play the violin.

I also was planning to become a Nun till age 13.

Everyone that knows me today does not believe that.

Jappy
