OMG!!! You had the a/c on already! I am so jealous...not that I want it to be hot! I just wish it would warm up already! Enough with the ups and downs.

DM 04-08-2008 09:12 AM

We had about 70 on Sat, but it's damp, dreary today. It is 40, but the dampness is yucko.

RW's probably out playing in her canoe, or is it her yacht?? :D

LOL. Girlie Girl, I've had the house a/c on for a few weeks now as well as using the a/c in the car.

AfterMyNap 04-08-2008 09:31 AM

Our max so far was 64° the other day and I would love about six months of that! We're scheduled for 40°s and 50°s all week with some April showers. That's okay, my car is dirty.

I just can't imagine that! The last pile of snow in my yard just melted last week! I am pretty sure Yeahbut and RW still have piles of it in their yards.

I like the "free" car washes. It never fails when I do wash the car...it rains. So why bother :p

Amen to that! When we need rain, all we have to do is go pay for a carwash!

I do need to go get the undercarriage rinsed one more time, we use a lot of salt on the roads in these parts.

tkrik 04-08-2008 09:40 AM

I think our high so far has been 87. :(

AMN - 64 sounds perfect. And a free car wash to boot! More than likely, I will have to wait about 3 months before I get that free car wash. (monsoons)

Girlie Girl - Growing up in CT and NY I used to love it when that last snow melted and the signs of spring were sprouting. There was always an unspoken excitement in the air. I really, really miss that. There are no season changes here. It goes from nice to he!!ish hot in a matter of a week.

OMG! I never thought of this. When I have that need for rain, I can go one of those automated car washes and just sit there and imagine it raining. LOL.

Girlie Girl 04-08-2008 09:48 AM

tkrik, where are you at? Not sure I want the heat that much!

I love the spring...just not the flux in the temps. That is when my MS flares up.

LOL, no no no, what I meant is that in MI, if we pay for a carwash, it's sure to rain and mess up our brand-spankin' clean cars. We have our own brand of Murphy's law when it comes to weather here.:D

Same law applies here during monsoons. Never wash your car during that time. It will always rain. Besides, when it does rain it is fast and hard. Lots of flash floods.

Girlie - I'm in AZ. We too are in the fluctuations of temps right now. The days can be 87 and the nights 40.

tkrik 04-08-2008 10:04 AM

BTW - We have a law here called the Stupid Motorist Law. Seriously! During monsoons there are areas that flood and become river like. If you go through there, get stuck, and they have to rescue you then you have to pay.

weegot5kiz 04-08-2008 10:06 AM

enjoy the nice weather we had two nice days this past weekend here,

even saw a wasp on sunday it was 63 way too early for wasp around here,

Me too AMN. I worked outside this past weekend, but I paid yesterday and today. I would love to have 64 degrees and sunny year-round. :)

Well at least it was a sign of spring...maybe not a pleasant sign, but a sign.

I want to see RW on the river! I would love to do a road trip to watch!

yeahbut 04-08-2008 06:37 PM

I am getting a little worried.... I called her house tonight but no answer - left her a message hopefully she will check in.

BTW-64 degrees this afternoon!!!!!!

AZjanie 04-08-2008 06:54 PM

NO FAIR!!

At 64 degrees you are warmer there than we are! We are having another one day, high wind, fast moving cold front again so it only got up to 63 today!!

Oh well; guess we can suffer through this bitterly cold day as it will be back in the 70's tomorrow and 80's in a few days!! :)

Some of my cactus are blooming and the iris, jonquils and tulips are beautiful.

Will post pics if I ever learn how.

SallyC 04-08-2008 07:10 PM

It's a balmy 70 degrees here in SWohio..:D We may have some rain later in the week. It is now officially Spring in my back yard.:Trapeze 2:

KarenMarie 04-08-2008 08:43 PM

In Kennebunk we registered 51 ???? Maybe I will move further north - but how's the snow up there - melting some ????

Riverwild 04-08-2008 11:11 PM

I'm here!!

(Sorry Char (and everyone else-Nice weather you're having!)

Life just reared it's ugly head during the past few days!

I'm doing the annual tug of war with the pharmacy and the insurance company and my authorization on my only non-formulary med- Provigil.

I ran out before I remembered it was that time of year. So I'm bottom- draggin' here folks!

I made it through two night's work and have the next five off, so I am gonna try to rest until I get a refill...but I have to do taxes this week...and I went to the DSD's chamber music recital tonight at the U, drove 2 1/2 hours and I did a doctor/dental double appointment, and...you know how it goes...:thud::Zzzz:

I'll be back tomorrow! Thanks for thinking of me y'all! I have open water coming up the shoreline! I'll take a pic or two tomorrow from the back door!

yeahbut 04-09-2008 07:02 AM

Take Care my friend and if there is anything I can do for you on Saturday/Sunday let me know! I would be more than happy to if I am needed. You take care of you first!!! (that is what you would tell me ;))

:hug::hug:

The south and north of Ohio are so different, they should be two different states, lol. It's SOOOO pretty down by you. And 10 degrees warmer, lol. And y'all have a different accent.

:D

:D

Hehehe..You're the ones with the different accent. A little Gangsta-ese..:p I lived in Buffalo for awhile and they thought I was from the deep south, and yet when I was in the deep south, they didn't understand my Nawthern accent..:D

It's gonna get cooler here in the next week..40s and 50s, but it will warm back up.

tkrik 04-09-2008 01:05 PM

OMG! I guess I tried to blow the warm dry air to the east a little too hard as the cool damp air circled around to here.

It is so weird as today it is cloudy and 73. Really not normal for this time of year. But I am going to enjoy it because I know what is coming.

FlyFishin Momma 04-09-2008 02:41 PM

Its a very warm almost muggy 72 here in SE MO oday. Again with the A/C in the truck....got windows and doors open on the house.....getting ready to go out an putz around out doors for the afternoon....

Were due for storms tomorrow and some rather cooler nights this weekend.....
aaahhhh gotta love spring weather........

But the red buds are bloomin and so are the dogwoods and tulips.....grass already needs mowed and saw two hummingbirds today.....its for sure springtime round here....

OK NOW!

I won the battle with "Wellpoint" ( who the #$%^ are they and why are they peeving me???) It seems that my insurance company (AnthemBCBS) contracts with them for something or the other and they somehow got hold of my prescription and refused to authorize my provigil refill. I have a full service plan with no exclusions and they shouldn't have had their noses in any of my stuff.

I took care of them. :D I also took care of BCBS for allowing them access to my information. :D I asked for a written letter of apology and a written plan of correction for their HIPPA violation.:D I gave them 14 days.

Nowwww...spring! It seems to be trying to poke it's nose through the curtain of winter here! I am willing to bet Char is completely thawed out, being more easterly of me, even if she is further north!

Here's my look out the back door!

#1 is the last of the snow pile and the open spring holes across from my dock.

# 2 is the open water moving up towards my house.

#3 is the open water along the shoreline off my wall and the freshwater mussel shells the underwater creatures left there this winter ( otters? They leave the shells after they crack them open on the rocks and eat the meat. This all goes on under the ice all winter long!)

#4 is a look away from my house up the lake...as you can see, it's got a LONG way to go yet!

AfterMyNap 04-09-2008 06:11 PM

Beautiful! Always stick it to 'em and make them beg for your business! Good job, RW!

Okay, the pics, KEWL! Do I need reservations????:D

DM 04-09-2008 06:56 PM

RW???? Your'e OK!!!

*wiping sweat off on AMN's shirt*

Boy, good for you for giving those ins people "what for". Remind me to stay on your good side. Hope you stay high and dry and get some rest. Thanks for the pics.... they were way KEWL!

Glad to have ya back.

Taffy 04-09-2008 07:39 PM

Wow....I wanna camp at your house!!!!!:D

FlyFishin Momma 04-09-2008 10:30 PM

Check out those pis.....that is so awesome.....They look cold...but are so beautiful.....
thanks for sharing Nanc....

Want I should send some warm teps your way to met that all off????

or maybe you would rather have the wind and thunder and lighting and hail and rain were about to get here in about 20 minutes????

yeahbut 04-10-2008 05:24 AM

We still have some patches of snow here and there in the fields but the woods still have quite a bit! I did some some buds on the maple trees yesterday though! My dad has been maple syrup for two weeks now - last week he said was a good week! Warm during the day cool at night great for the sap running!

Girlie Girl 04-10-2008 11:08 AM

Nanc, those pics are great! They do seem cold but what a view!

And good for you to give it to them! What nerve they have giving out your info! Hope they come through with that letter of apology! :sorry:

Yeahbut, how cool your dad does syrup. Do you get a whole supply for the year? Is he able to sell it or just for the family? Hope you are doing better:o
