Hearing tomorrow...

Well I have my long awaited hearing tomorrow. I was thinking I probably need all the help I can get, so I figured I might do the following.

1. Get partially drunk on Amaretto so my balance is worse than ever, even with my cane.

2. Tell the judge(Biloon) that I have trouble formulating words and if I call him Baboon, its nothing personal.

3. Fall asleep during the proceeding, explaining the fatigue just gets so bad at times.

4. During the proceedings drink way too many energy drinks so I can have tremors that would set off a ricter scale.

5. Tell the judge that I can't remember what my statement to him was going to be because of the cognitive issues and I don't remember what I wrote down or where I put the notes.

6. If all else fails...rant and rave like a lunatic and then say: What happened, what did I miss? Then burst out in tears and tell him the Cymbalta, Xanax and other ADs don't always do what they advertise.

Well...I figure at this point waiting since 2004 for this day to arrive...I really don't have a lot to lose...well just my medicare. lol

Take a break do something relaxing for yourself...go, now, do something fun!

Blessings2You 04-15-2008 04:27 PM

I'll relax later. Right now I'm busy praying for Momma.

Momma's Kids 04-16-2008 03:48 PM

My attorney, whom has been doing this for 14 yrs and disability cases only...told me I won. She told me before we went in that the case was won before any words were spoken.

I was listening to the judge and looked over at her pad and she had written in huge letters WON. I calmly thanked her and said, glad this is over.

I will know for sure in a few weeks. The judge was a very nice man, soft spoken and understanding. The vocational rehabilitation guy was there also...when asked "hypothetically" what could a person with these issues do.

He said nothing is available in the job market that a person with these issues can do. He then explained in detail to the judge, why.

I'm glad its over after 4 years of waiting and I thank all of you for your prayers, thoughts and good wishes.

I am so glad this is over for you. Geez.....I can't believe you've had to wait this long.

Hopefully, they will make it retroactive like they did mine. You'll get a nice big check & then you really party! :Dancing-Chilli:

Thank you for good words...it will be awhile and I'll just do like I've been doing...sitting, swinging, waiting, sitting, swinging...oh did I mention waiting
sitting in the swing waiting...my life is so dramatic and eventful...

Wonder which ball gown to wear today...hmmm? lol

SandyC 04-17-2008 10:47 AM

Momma, congrats! Now you just have to wait to see how big that back pay is going to be! Where will you go? What will you do with it? :D;)

Momma's Kids 04-17-2008 12:46 PM

I already know where it is going...to pay for four years of long term disability and an attorney.

I will be fortunate if I get 20 bucks when all is said and done. lol

SandyC 04-17-2008 01:41 PM

Well shoot! It's like every hand is out huh?

Momma's Kids 04-17-2008 05:37 PM

Yep, but I'm thankful I had the LTD...cause without that income...I would be living in front of Hillary Clinton's house with a sign...

Just give me some food. I ain't able to work. lol
Said in jest, but I know of several people in this situation...One family with seven kids they have lost both vehicles, their house and are now looking for somewhere they can afford. They worked so hard for the future, their mtg company is no help, interest on their house jumped from 2.5 to 10.25 in less than 5 years. Payments are over 1800.00 a month, forced bankruptcy is their only option at this point.

I'm thankful, my banker works with me if I'm late on a payment...but then I know all his deep dark secrets. lol

Sandy...how is your mom?

SandyC 04-17-2008 10:07 PM

Momma, I updated in the spiritual thread about my mom. She was in the ER last night and she may have to stop working. They believe she is having seizures and she's back on dilating. Speaking of being down on your luck. If she leaves her job (hopefully they will offer LTD) she may lose her insurance and have to move in with my sister until she can get disability. Which means, no income. The ride is just starting and she's only 63. They also took away her driving privileges until further notice. She is very angry and not just at life, at all of us. Say a prayer for her please?

This whole health care thing has to change. People like my mom and your friends are the ones suffering. I wanted to call into the debate so bad and tell what happened to my mom and what are they going to do immediately about people like her? How are they going to protect our citizens when a health care crisis hits and they are left without insurance or no income to support Cobra? Arghhh.
