My new 'DO"
Okay, just came back from around the corner. Got my summer haircut.
Cost me all of $10.00. I get the Senior Citizen's discount. Not only do I love the beautician, but it's like a social outing. The woman in the seat next to me was 82 and recently widowed. We had each other hysterical telling off-color jokes. She had a good sense of humor. She also had a HEAD OF HAIR that I wished I had. So here's the new me (at least for the summer anyway). http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/j...newhaircut.jpg |

Short and Sassy... You wear it well, Melody!:)
|
Very pretty!!!
Now you're gonna hafta change your avatar! :p |
Okay, I shall try and change my avatar. But it never works. Someone always has to rescue me and resize it and then I get to put the new one in.
I actually don't think I look THAT much different, but I guess with the bangs, well I'M STILL SASSY!!!! lol Whoever thought I would wear bangs at my age. I think it's a hoot!!!! Thanks for all the kind words. OOHH, I CHANGED IT. I ACTUALLY DID IT ALL BY MYSELF. It's small though. Maybe I'll take a closeup and do it again at another time. Hey, at least I'm still learning something on this computer. TWINKS:: Why is your avatar bigger than mine??? The rectange on mine is smaller. Did you do anything different?? Thanks, Melody |

( yes I KNOW it's a cayman, Ro!! LOL!!) Melody, the new "DO" looks good on you!!!:) |
Thanks for the nice comment.
Now here's something to REALLY make you laugh. I didn't know she was carrying a croc. I thought it was a scarf. That's how blind I am (looking at small photos). I gave it another look and said: "holy cow, she has a croc in her arms". We now have a new FEMALE crocodile hunter. Reminds me of when I first saw Paul Hogan, in Crocodile Dundee. There was a part in that film when Paul Hogan is accosted by some hooligans in the subway system. So one of the guys pulls out a knife. And Paul Hogan says:"you call THAT a knife??" And Paul Hogan pulls out HIS knife and says; "THIS IS A KNIFE" I never laughed so hard. I remember that like I saw it yesterday and it must be 20 years or so. I wonder what ever happened to Paul Hogan?? |
A SCARF!!! You thought I was holding a SCARF!!! Hahahahaha!!! I can't quit laughing!!!
Geez, I risk my life for a photo op and she thinks I'm holding a scarf, RW! :ROTFLMAO::ROTFLMAO::ROTFLMAO: Oh and BTW, my avatar is bigger cause I shop at the Dress Barn Plus Size Women's clothes!!! ;) I just couldn't fit in a smaller one, Lol!! |
I love your new 'DO'! It is really cute!
|
Thanks Taffy: I'm getting used to my shorter "do". Never really wore my hear off of my shoulders before. But I'm at a certain age and I don't want to look like Dolly Parton or Joan Collins, so I guess SHORT IS THE WAY TO GO.
I also wish it was MY hair. Didn't tell you that did I? I have very little hair on the top of my head. I've been using Jerome Russel Spray on Hair for years. It fills in the bald spots and it blends in with your hair using micro-fiber something or others. I bought a whole case on ebay 4 years ago and I still have some. Best investment I ever made. I just spray a bit on the top. And it fills in the volume (and continues to do so for a few days). Then after 2 days or so, I wash my hair and do the whole routine again. Thank god for this kind of product. I might sound vain, but I really did need something to fill in my hair. Did the trick. Everyone thinks this is my own hair. My beautician never knew I used this. When she did my hair, I pulled out my Jerome Russell, she went nuts, she wrote down the name and the phone number (because she has other clients with thin hair). So now she's getting her own supply. Hey, I shared, I did my part. Now others can benefit, right?? AND LADY WITH THE CROC, all kidding aside, how did you get your avatar pic to be bigger than mine. Is it in the photo, the upload, what?? thanks much, Melody |
Sorry, Mel, I dunno. Not techie enough to figure out anything.
Just a thought: how long since you changed it? Might be bigger next time you put one there. |
I JUST CHANGED IT (THE DAY I GOT THE "DO"). lol
|
Melody, I love the new do.
And hey, if a little spray makes you feel better, that's very cool - and good for you, for sharing. I consider things like that good karma. You rock. |
Hey Melody! I love your new haircut....wish I could wear short hair. It just doesn't suit me. But it looks so cute on you! And I love the bangs. I've had bangs for years and love them. You can change up your look just by fixing them a different way.
I'm going for the "just got out of bed" look today....needless to say I'm not venturing out of the house tonight! |
How the heck can you change the look of bangs.
I comb them down, and there they are. There are different ways to wear bangs??? Tell Tell Tell lol |
HereKitty's avatar is as big as both of ours together!!! How'd she do that? *shrug*
|
Twink, I have no idea!! I just uploaded it and that's how it came out!
Melody, you can use a little styling gel or hairspray and "sculpt" them - you'll just have to play with them a little and see what looks best. Maybe comb them to the side or spike them up a little. |
My bangs are curly, so ya never know where they're gonna end up. LOL I weish I could just comb them, and they'd be straight.
:p |
I am 60 years old. I'll 61 on November 4th.
I heard a beautiful phrase today. 60 is the youth of old age!!!! |

By the way, Melody, nice 'do". It is very cute and sassy - easy maintenance for the summer! |
I guess if I squint my eyes just right, it COULD look like a scarf..Wouldn't suggest wearing it, though..:p
Melody, your haircut looks great! I wish I had the guts to cut mine, but I know how much work it is when it's shorter..When it's all long, I don't have to blow dry or anything..Just stick it in a ponytail & go. I still can't believe that's not all your own hair..What a great find! |
Hi Polar:
Believe me, this product at least gives me some self-esteem. Here's a link to what it looks like, and there's a photo of a guy before and after. http://www.asseenontv.com/prod-pages...k_dark_bn.html I must be using this stuff for over 7 years. I only wish I had the moola to go for a weave. Not extensions or anything like that. My friend around the corner (her grandaughter came yesterday). She's 29 and she has long long black hair. The odd thing is I never have seen her with long long black hair. She goes "how do you like my new weave?" And I said "really??? I've never seen a weave close up, where is the weave and where is YOUR hair?" You couldn't tell ANYTHING. I saw HER hair. She bent over, showed me the top and she parted her hair. I still couldn't tell. She explained that they use some type of glue process. It was also real hair worth $5000. I said 'you paid $5000 for this head of hair?" and she laughed and said "no, this is a friend of my dad's, I didn't pay any $5000". OH my god, if I could just get a bit of hair (weaved into the top of my head), I would never have to use this spray every day (every other day actually). But it's much too expensive. But I'd do it. Call me vain, I'd do it!!!! |
