Hi: I'm New Here & Like to Get to Know You
1 Attachment(s)
I was doing some research on RSD and found your site. I have RSD, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome, a chronic, neurological disorder characterized by incredible burning pain. Mine started in my right hand from surgery but has since spread to almost every part of my body.
I am looking forward to meeting you, I am housebound, and enjoy meeting and exchanging information and ideas with people. Especially concerning pain management, disabilities or anything like that. I have lost the use of both hands, most use of legs and back has deteriorated. Enough of me for now. I believe in keeping a positive attitude, fighting back this disease I have even though there is no cure, because someday...... Bye for now, TheMatrix777 Attachment 2766 |
Welcome to NT...this is the best place there is to meet wonderful caring and of course fun people...

WoW ! Such Fast Reply's! Thanks a Lot
It's very nice to meet you too. I hope it does change me; for the good of course. Everyone here seems so thoughtful and caring. That's wonderful.
It's funny how a common thing, in our cases, any illness, can bring people to together. Makes you wonder why the whole world can't get along. Here we are or at least me, am thankful every morning if I can walk that day. Sometimes I can, other days, I can't. When you look at our small "victories", this world bickering business to me seems very small.:grouphug: |

Mindful Pain Management
If you like to read, you might try "Full Catastrophe Living" by Jon Cabott-Zin. He teaches stress management, meditation, and non-judgement as a way to cope with, and actualy reduce pain. I was reading it when I had my second whip-lash accident, and found it very helpfull. I now recomend it to clients regularly.

Hi, Matrix!
It's really great to meet you! I'm very sorry for all the pain you are in, but I'm glad that you've managed to find our site. You sound incredibly positive for someone in your condition. I admire that. I like talking, too, and I can talk all day about pain, but I'm afraid I don't know a lot about RSD. Sometimes I just like to talk in general. :p
Anyway, I'm glad you visited, and hope you'll visit again and again. Good luck and best wishes to you, Matrix! :) Idealist |
Idealist: Thanks For the Welcome
Thanks for the welcome note. I take it your name reflects your outlook on life?
Although my pain is always there, I try to get my mind off it as much as possible. I'm not a whiner; you have to fill those profiles out and that's my life... The reason my website and most of my blogs are about RSD is to get the name out in the public eye more. Even though it has been around since the Civil War, most people have never heard of it and don't know anything about it. I didn't until I was diagnosed with it. Boy, was that a surprise. But, I never give up hope. Well, this has to be short this morning, but I'll be back posting later. Nice meeting you and we'll be talking soon. |
