A lurker converted

I am Alfee's sister and Bizi's Aunt. I have been lurking for months and Alffe has pestered me to do this. I had lunch with Alffe today and she got Curious to help me register - nothing is ever easy with me and my computer. I have only had it for a year and still have much to learn! Thank you Curious for the help - here we go!

tamiloo 05-06-2008 01:10 PM

Snoopy 05-06-2008 01:34 PM

Hello Barbo and welcome to NeuroTalk.

I'm just wondering if you are the sister who's daughter had MS

Please feel free to ignore my "wondering" :)

barbo 05-06-2008 03:04 PM

Yes, Snoopy, I am the Mother of Pam who wrote that neat poem that Alffe posted. What a woman she was! She just got very unlucky, as only 2% of MSers ever lose totally to the disease. Hope we communicate some more!!

DM 05-06-2008 04:03 PM

What? Another sister of Alffe's named Barb??? Oh, just two threads!
WHEW! I was looking for your other brother Darrell for a minute.
:D

I'll just say it again Barb~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I can understand why she felt like that.

I was diagnosed before the ABCs were available.

From what I had read Pam seems to have had an inner strength - something you should be very proud of.

LOLOL! That is hilarious!! Where on earth do you find these things? LOL

who moi 05-07-2008 03:53 PM

welcome, barb!

I am still honored to inherit some of Pam's art supplies. I plan on getting some good use out of them in the next few years (now that I have a semi-studio set up).

Pam was such a talented artist/poet. She truly shined in her short life and I believe she lived her life to its fullest.

And I love Barbara Manatee.

Alpho, you don't know the Veggie Tales? I am dropping you a CD in the mail this week. LMAO...we got addicted when we got it for the grandkids...

We ALMOST did Barbara Manatee at our weeding....ROFL......

one of my other favorite song is my motto...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XaWU1CmrJNc

but be careful, the songs are so addicting that you'll sing it again and again even in your sleep...LOL

I remember how mad she got over the Multiple Sclerosis Society's magazine/Newsletter - All of the ads were from drug companies!

You lucky - getting to see manatees all the time! Alffe got me a gorgeous tin one for my wall! It is right beside my computer.

Dmom3005 05-07-2008 07:22 PM

I'm envious of all the nice pictures. I love to look at them.

Keep them coming. My computer wont oblige for me to post
any.

I'd love to show everyone my son's art work.

There are ads all over the place now for these drugs. The Multiple Sclerosis society recommends those diagnosed and even "probable MS" patients use the drugs ASAP.

The Mayo Cllinic takes a wait and see approach.

As far as the MS drugs, I agree with Pam.

How old was Pam when she was diagnosed?
