An Open Apology

It was brought to my attention a few days ago that my language on the board can be too coarse and vulgar.
I'm thankful that I was called on it and I deeply apologize for offending our members here.

I will keep the crude jokes and 'locker room' humor out of my posts and instead focus on trying to help or assist our members in any way I can.

Sincerely,
Tim Harvey
aka MooseasaurusRex

Alffe 05-06-2008 05:59 PM

I find this very hard to believe dear Moose....pssst..who was it...I've got pepper spray. :hug:

hmm...I hadn't noticed. :wink: Guess I was reading between the lines....cause all I heard was encouragement!!!:hug:

I appreciate you!

Kitty 05-06-2008 06:05 PM

I can't say that I've ever read anything from you that was vulgar or off-base, Moose. Gosh, now I'm wondering about MY OWN posts.....:eek: We had quite a colorful discussion today regarding ummmm.....bodily noises :o :o.

Honestly, I cannot remember a post from you that was inappropriate. :confused:

weegot5kiz 05-06-2008 06:51 PM

I dont recall anything vulgar coming from you, did you mention the word peas? was that it :rolleyes:

dont go changing too much moose, I thought you were always encouraging and humorous

Blessings2You 05-06-2008 06:53 PM

I consider myself rather conservative (background sounds of my kids choking and snorting with laughter, saying "RATHER conservative??")

Every now and again a thread or post here (or on other boards) creeps toward the edge of what I find comfortable. When that happens (not often) I either try to move things in another direction if appropriate (for example, it's MY thread), or if I'm really uncomfortable, I just move on to other threads and ignore the one that bothers me.

Whether you are "guilty as charged" or not, I have no clue. I must say that I appreciate your response to whoever contacted you with a concern. You could have taken an "attitude" and been defensive, but you chose to respond in a sensitive and respectful way.

tkrik 05-06-2008 06:53 PM

Never saw any of "those" posts but your apology is accepted.

PolarExpress 05-06-2008 09:15 PM

Now see, this proves it..I always miss the good stuff. :hissyfit:
I don't know what post this is about, but I have to tell you I've always enjoyed your sense of humor, your supportiveness, and your honesty. I respect you even more for your response to another's discomfort. Now..Pass the peas, please. :Starvin:

MelodyL 05-06-2008 09:25 PM

Me too!!!!

Never noticed anything out of the ordinary.

Hey, we all have our pains and aches, and we come her to socialize and laugh our butts off. (notice I said butts).

If we can't laugh here, where the heck CAN WE LAUGH??

Releases endorphins. It's good for ya!!!

You're fine, don't worry.

Melody

I cannot even imagine that anyone found anything you said offensive. Maybe they just had a bad day....a really, really bad day....and you were the one they "saw" first.

Please don't change Moose. You have provided me with so much laughter that it just wouldn't be the same. :hug:

AZjanie 05-06-2008 10:24 PM

I am in the same boat with you Moose; I got sorta scolded for something I said awhile back.

They put it very nicely and I could see where my comment could have been taken the wrong way.

We just are having so much fun and get carried away at times I guess.

Nothing bothers me at my age! :p

If I were sensitive to others comments I would not join in the conversation but instead find another I was comfortable with. :rolleyes:

If you've had some course and vulgar language in your posts, I've missed it. (Darn, now I've got to go back and read everything you've posted so I don't miss the good parts!)

All I've read has been very empathetic and supportive.

I don't "own" the boards, so I can't tell you what is O.K., and what isn't...but I would think that with all of the good that you've posted, people would give you a little bit of leeway.

I'm sorry if you offended any one in anyway...but I would hate to lose the "real" Moose.

SandyC 05-06-2008 11:51 PM

I missed it again. Sheesh, maybe because I was too involved with bodily functions and snakes around my neck. :cool: :o :p

Seriously, kudos on the apology. I am sure that person appreciates your apology. I know I have been guilty of coming close to the edge. It's how I roll so that's why I haven't noticed. If I have offended anyone, I am sorry too. Maybe we should have an open apology thread.

Koala77 05-07-2008 12:26 AM

I have no idea what happened Moose, but I hope that your apology to the person or people has been accepted, and all will be good.

Hugs Moose. :hug:

kicker 05-07-2008 08:13 AM

WHAT!!! Are we talking about our Moose? Now I have to re-read all his posts, because I must of missed that one. Jeez, bet I have trouble finding one. Moose, just sounds like someone had their panties in a bunch.

Curious 05-07-2008 08:44 AM

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the matter was taken care of in a respectful manner by all. :D
the guidlines need to be followed on the board as well as in chat.
yep, when conversations get going, things can slip out or get posted that can be offensive to some or all. in the written word you can't hear inflection in a voice to know it was joke or to be taken light hearted.
no reason at all to go searching mooses posts for something offensive. if it was there..it ain't no more. :)
MelodyL 05-07-2008 10:40 AM
Well,
So far I've advertised my:
Shark Steam Mop
Pedegg.
One Touch Can Opener
Bonzai Chopper
and Debbie Myer's green bags.
Don't know if this constitutes advertising on this forum.
I DO KNOW THAT MY APPLES ARE STILL CRISP, MY CARROTS ARE STILL CRISP, MY ROMAINE LETTUCE IS STILL CRISP AFTER 9 DAYS,
And my floor has never been cleaner.
See, I don't call this advertising, I call this SHAREING GREAT TIPS THAT BENEFIT EVERYONE.
I think the advertising pertains to electric gizmos that are purported to cure something, and shouldn't be advertised on these sites.
Don't think advertising pertains to my PEDEGG!!!!
Wouldn't be without it by the way. lol
My landlord now has my SHARK STEAM MOP and is cleaning her basement.
The guy around the corner bought his two days ago and his wife just came up to me and hugged me and said 'my god, I LOVE this thing!!!
So don't know what Moose did. But to me, he's aces.
Melody
P.S. Just know, that if I run across any more 'TIPS, you gotta know I'll post it here.
Pro or Con, I'll you about it.
Like the Tater Mitts.
Biggest waste of money I ever did.
But all the other stuff I got from "as seen on tv, like the light bulbs, the handy reacher thing, the bonzie chopper, and of course, my favorite, the Pedegg, well, it's like a little slice of heaven.
Melody
Curious 05-07-2008 10:43 AM
melody, if they were YOUR sites and YOU profited from them, then that is NOT ok.
so do you own the shark steam mop company? :D
shiney sue 05-07-2008 11:04 AM
Hmmmm going to have to go back and read all posts. Yes Mel owns that
mop company ,how do you think she lives in A New York Penhouse,
Ok I'll stop if Mel tells me if those bags will keep my peas fresh???
Moose doubt if it was needed but takes a real man to apologize,to whatever.
Hugs to all Sue
MelodyL 05-07-2008 12:11 PM
Not only will they keep the peas fresh, I just came home from buying two sacks of apples (3 lbs each) for $1.49 a sack.
I put ALL of them in one of the BIG green thingees.
I put my radishes, in another green thingee.
I did that to each and all of my produce. Haven't had to throw out A SINGLE THING OF PRODUCE since I bought the bags. Who else can make such a claim.
The bags do what they say they will do.
Berries, however are a whole different ballgame.
Don't mix them in the same bags. Put blueberries, blackberries and strawberries in their own little bags cause they are juicy.
None of them got moldy on me. I used ALL OF THE FRUIT when I make the juice. I give the fruit to Alan, and I juice the green veggies with parsley. Sounds yucky, I know, but it's really delicious.
You get lots of energy after you drink the green stuff. Don't know why but it's true.
Also, since I'm juicing green in the a.m., my sugar readings are constantly better. Now don't get me wrong, I do eat a sensible diet which includes a lot of fish, but I do allow myself a brownie on the weekend. Alan LOVES my brownies, and the IVIG nurses LOVE my brownies, so once in a while, I'll enjoy a brownie with a cup of coffee.
I really had to re-train my brain not to want to eat 5 brownies. The old me would have easily done that.
And no, I don't own a steam mop company, nor do I own the pedegg company, but if you go to my videos, (I did my own infomercial for the pedegg), the guy who discovered the Pedegg, thanked me and left a comment on my youtube site.
Amazing, these "as seen on tv" gadgets.
DocJohn 05-07-2008 12:18 PM
No worries, Moose. The problem sometimes with certain types of innuendos is that our friends understand them, but people who don't know us can take offense at such talk.
I think it was very kind of you to apologize for this issue, thank you.
DocJohn
Kitty 05-07-2008 12:34 PM
This website is just the best..........hands down the best around!! :winner_first_h4h: :Thanx:
Debbie D 05-07-2008 01:45 PM
Moose,
I appreciate your apology.
But I don't understand why someone would have complained about your posts.
You use humor to reach out to those of us who are feeling crummy, frustrated and depressed about our health issues. You help us feel less alone in our misery.
You, my dear friend, have a heart of gold. Your ways don't offend ME at all, and I appreciate the Moose that you are!:hug:
Vonn07 05-07-2008 02:28 PM
Hey Moosey ... your Wisconsin-gal here ... no apologies necessary ... you're a good sport ... I like ya! we all falter - and we don't realize it ...
still working on the "penny for my thoughts" letter ... keep in touch - even 'shout-outs' work for me .. always here for ya bud!
Doody 05-07-2008 02:38 PM
((Moose)) Say it ain't so!
I've been called to the carpet in the past for being 'naughty'. Got caught talking about my ulcerative colitis in a manner that was, well...quite humorous I thought. :rolleyes:
Maybe we should start our own Let It All Hang Out forum. :winky:
I think you're great. You pop into the SOS forum at the best times and contribute so much. :hug:
Blues Girl 05-07-2008 02:41 PM
Heya Moose, I guess I missed something. I've never found any of your posts to be offensive. I like your sense of humor. Youmakamelaugh Mooseman!:D:p:hug:
suzyqz_2007 05-07-2008 03:18 PM
I have not seen anything offensive from you or anyone, but I can understand where at times things can be taken out of context or misinterpreted. We all have bad days and sometimes things just hit us wrong.
Don't worry Moose, all is good. Your apology shows just what a caring and great person you are. (Of course we all knew that!) :hug:
Bannet 05-07-2008 05:39 PM
I agree with all the posts Moose. You are one of the best:hug:
You used to pull me out of holes alot and you didn't even know it. I love your humor and your insights.
Thanks Buddy;)
Never have I thought you to be coarse and vulgar or offensive - you have made me chuckle on many a post - when I first got to NT I didn't see you and was hoping someone would bring you here - so Moose - stay yourself - whoever might have complained must have been having a really bad day and should apologize to you for causing you to doubt yourself !!!!!!!
Jodylee 05-08-2008 05:41 AM
Sheesh!! Don't change too much Moose!! Heck, I don't think you need to change at all?!? I'd hate to think of you sitting there thinking for a half an hour before ya post something, that would really stink and make you a bit paranoid too :). It is great that you apologized though. I musta missed something that I'm sure I would've found HYSTERICAL, teehee.
I agree Moose! Don't change too much! That is why we love you, for you! Kudos for your apology! Must not have been easy.
I have never been offended by your comments, I must have missed them. But I am blonde so it doesn't take much to get by me...hehehehe!!!
Be Happy Moose!
I'm not surprised by Mooses's apology. He's a gentleman, right or wrong apoligizing is what they do.
as always way over my head, hey bring it down to a short person level...hint me....giggling:p
Riverwild 05-13-2008 12:13 AM
Moose,
I have never known you be anything but a gentleman. Your compassion and support for others shines through each time you post. Your humor in the face of adversity is amazing. Your humility when you think that you have done wrong is a lesson that I take to heart.
Your apology was gracious and whatever it was that was perceived in whatever you said must have been misinterpreted, because I have NEVER seen you set out to hurt anyone or be rude to anyone intentionally.
JMHO:)
