Anyone watch American Idol tonight?
 

I thought David Archuletta was so cute, I wanted to pinch his cheeks. He sang GREAT!!!!

David Cook is mine.....he is a homegrown Missouri kid just like me....

The Davids were both Hot tonight I thought. Either one of them could win in my book...

And, oh my, poor dreadlocks, he really messed up tonight didn't he? Little David is so cute he could win just standing there lol And Syeesha (sp?) is a cutey, really making her place. I really love her voice.

David Cook is my fav but he was a little off tonight. I think he is so worried about his brother. :-(

Yeah. his poor brother has brain cancer. How he got the courage to go through all the American Idol shows, and he's thinking of his brother, well I give him props for that.

As for Jason Castro. I have no idea why he is still on that show.

Alan looks t the tv and shouts. Go and mop the floor with that hair.!!!!

He has NEVER belted out any tunes. He has never even raised his voice. Now Carly Smithson. She was something.

But to me, I can just close my eyes and listen to David Archuletta and just mellow out. I thought he was soooo good last night.

It really should be between the two Davids.

If Jason doesn't go home tonight, I think Alan will shoot the tv!!!!

I watched it.....seems like David A. was the only one who got brownie points from all the judges. Poor Jason really messed up - it almost seems like all the wind has gone out of his sails. He just seems very unmotivated to do anything beyond the minimum. I'm sure David A or David C will take the title - it'll be between those two.

I can only tell you what Alan told me. If Jason Castro is still there tonight, Alan will get up, go over to the tv and kick it.

And Alan really is not supposed to KICK ANYTHING BECAUSE HE'S WEARING THE SHOE BOOT!!!

So I just might have to buy a new tv over this whole debacle.

People seem to think that Jason Castro deliberately muffed the lines.

That he WANTS to go home.

He really doesn't look professional and he doesn't seem to take it all seriously.

Now David Cook, Archuletta and Syesha...well, they DO take it all seriously.

It's going to be very interesting.

I wonder though, why Kelly Clarkson, and the others, have not made any appearances on this season's IDOL!!!!

I said this same thing to my DH last night. It seemed like he was trying to screw up. It came across as goofy and jokey. His performance was all really weird to me.

My fav is David Cook, but I love Sayesha and I do really like David A., but sometimes his performances are all too similar - last night he was really good, though.

I think Jason screwed up after all the judges ripped him a new one. Jim is convinced he's doped up. If he doesn't go home tonight I wont be surprised. He has a huge following and people will still vote for him. That's kind of how it goes these days. I think in the end it will be David vs David.

the web site votefortheworst has jason as their person to vote for. this really messes up the voting. we saw that with taylor hicks. pretty sad huh?

Well, I for one, am going to hide Alan's shoe boot thing. Before he tosses it into the tv.

Oh I do hope David Archuletta makes it through. But you never know.

Certainly hope David Cook wins - thought perhaps vote for the worst had been shut down - I thought that was probably the reason Taylor Hicks won in that year -

There's always someone waiting to screw up something that has good in it so the rest of the world can't enjoy it - they'll start on Dancing With The Stars next and screw (if this word is taken out - it's a little like a nail but with ridges) that up too -

The best show that I LOVE to watch is So You Think You Can Dance.

I have never seen people fly in the air, land on their heads, spin around, and not die.

Never in all my life.

I love So You Think You Can Dance!! And, I love Mary's screams, cackles, and woo-hoos!! I must be strange, but I think she adds to the show. I wonder if there are anymore siblings left in the Schwimmer family??

I have missed so much of AI this year. I'd go downstairs to watch it, but my DVR hadn't recorded it (user error?) :mad:

But, I do like Sayeesha (sp) and both Davids. Doesn't matter which David wins cause they will both likely be successful. Really like David Cook, but David A is a Utah boy. I hear he is going to sing the Nat'l anthem when he comes home this weekend for the Jazz vs. Lakers game. Go Jazz!!!

I read that David A won $100,000 in a singing competition when he was just 12!!! So he has lots of experience considering his young age. Can't believe he missed his own Jr. Prom! Prob. a good thing: doubt he could have found a date shorter than him. (That was mean, wasn't it?) :D

I hadn't heard anything fm Katharine McPhee until yesterday. I needed to leave for work, but had to hang around to see who was singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." She sounded fabulous!

Carmen Rasmussen is a Utah girl and I read a newspaper column she wrote about the AI competition. (She wasn't carping, just commenting).

Seems that certain singers got more training and advice than others. She said that while she waited outside the door for her turn to practice with a coach, that she could hear what was going on inside with Clay Aiken (bleah!) He got all kinds of helpful comments and critiques. But when Carmen went in, it was like they'd just say: "Oh, just keep on doing what you're doing. You'll be fine."

Okay, that concludes my comments for today. Just PM for additional opinions. :p

I for one cannot WAIT until next week.

They all went home, met their mayors, got keys to the city, etc.

I want to see how David A fared. He's my little honey bun. When he smiles to the camera, all my pain goes away. I start yelling out loud to the tv.

Alan gets hysterical. I'm telling you. While this show is on, we forget about our aches and pains, and we just go into another zone.

And if they send home David A, next week (or any week), I will take Alan's shoe boot and throw it at the tv myself.

I'll tell you. This weather is killing me. Here in Brooklyn, it's been raining all day. Forget what this is doing to my whole body. I feel like I'm 90 years old.

It's astounding that I can feel so good when the temp is above 80. Everybody is croaking and I'm smiling.

And god forbid if the weather decides to change from one minute to another. It's like I became a cripple in 5 minutes flat. I will never understand how this works. I know that the barometer affects the fluid in our bodies, but jeez. My wrists, my shoulder, my knees, my this, my that. And the sciatic nerve going down my left buttock. Holy Moly. Stopped me in my tracks yesterday.

It also affected my neuropathy. Everything was tingling. It's calmed down some. I think the nerves are inflamed when the barometer changes.

It only happens to me when the weather changes. If it's hot, I'm fine.

If I ever win the lottery, I'm moving to the desert where there is no humidity. Humidity is a killer. It's like I'm two completely different people from one day to the next.

I was diagnosed 20 years ago with degenerative joint disease, and I remember my doctor (years ago) telling me

"Melody, you DO know what the word degenerative means, don't you"? and I laughed and said "oh, yeah, my whole body is going to fall apart".

He wasn't laughing.

But I used to be 300 lbs and had to use a cane.

Now, when it's hot, I'm able to go walking just fine.

So I need to move to the desert. That will be my only salvation.

One can only hope.

I am so impressed with the voice of David Archuletta, I taped him and listen to him sing all the time. He is amazing, his eyes that sparkle and when he sings, I get goose bumps. His family is so proud of him.I want him to win American Idol.

I think David A will win the competition. I read that his Dad was banned from the rehersals last week - he interferred somehow and cost the show a lot of money.

His Dad might cost him the competition.

What a shame. Imagine, having your dad banned from the competition.

I have a question about what the dad did. I know he changed some of the lyrics to Stand By Me, and added a line or two from another song, AND THAT COST AMERICAL IDOL some money!!!

Didn't the guy know this before he made this decision? I mean, it's not like David A is new to the business. He's been on Star Search, etc. I mean, don't they give the singers, parents, agents, etc, THE RULES before they begin this competition.

The guy took some chance. Thank god, the judges like David A!!

Mel - I was wondering the same thing. When his father first brought up the idea, someone from AI could have nipped it in the bud by reminding him it was beyond their budget or contract agreement. Banning the kid's father seems harsh.

I like both Davids, but I get a little ticked when the contestants act like they've already won - even if they have. It's still a competition, and there's still no guarantee they will be successful. David A still has his humility. David Cook seems to have lost it a little - kinda acts like he's already a superstar.

Poor Syeesha - always on the bottom, yet has a beautiful voice and performance style. I can see her hitting it big on Broadway. It would almost be a waste to hide her away in a recording studio.

AI pays royalty fees to use the songs or any part of the lyrics. so adding lyrics from another song..more royalty fees.

All I know is I want David Cook to do well and smile a little tonight. haha
