Just that one scene
 

There are some movies that, when on TV, I will actually watch just to see one 2-minute scene. I just saw a commercial for "First Wives Club" and I will make an effort to catch the ending when they do their You Don't Own Me routine as they dance away into the night. I love love love that scene!

Another is the bridal luncheon scene in "My Best Friend's Wedding" when they all burst into song together.

Oh! One more is the first couple minutes of "A Few Good Men" when the silent drill team is doing their routine.

So, how about it, is there a segment of a movie that can suck you in over and over again?

Casablanca, "Play it once Sam, for old times sake." Sam says he doesn't know what she means. Ilsa replies, "Play it Sam, play As Time Goes By." Sam says he can't remember how to play the song and Ilsa says "I'll hum it for you. Da-dy-da-dy-da-dum, da-dy-da-dee-da-dum..."

I love that scene!

I'll bet you a gazillion dollars that you have not seen this scene (done this way). And don't worry, by the time they get to "You don't own me, it reverts to the original version, in English, in it's entirety.

But you HAVE to see the beginning of this clip. It's priceless.

Mr. D'arcy comes out of swimming in Pond at his beautiful estate , meets up with Elizabeth who is visiting it, goes to change into dry clothes and walks with her. In both scenes - bon pantaloons!!!!!!!

Steel Magnolias is my all-time favorite movie. I've watched it a hundred times and still cry.

I loved the character Ouiser (shirley McClain). I think my favorite line from her was "I'm not crazy, I've just been in a very bad mood for 40 years."

The Wedding Date
 

"The Wedding Date" with Debra Messing and Dermot Mulroney.

Her character asks his character about what makes him such a big deal.

He has her lean against the car and just talks to her. It is one of the sexiest scenes.

The scene in Devil Wears Prada where you see Anne Hathaway walking across the street in that montage of different beautiful outfits.

Oh and any scene from Harry Potter.

LOL, Kelly, I never get tired of it either. One of my friends' twins is, shall we say, a mystery when it comes to her mind's ways. Even when they were tiny, we'd wonder what the heck she was thinking when she went into her "zone". Even her sissy has always been perplexed by it. They're going on 17 now and I've been calling that one "Weeza" since they were about 4; over the years they'd ask me why I call her that... I told them I'd explain it when they're 18. Ruh roh!:D

My favorite lines from "Steel Magnolias" is when Clairee says "I love ya more than my luggage" and when Truvy says "Sammy's so confused he don't know whether to scratch his watch or wind his butt".

2. William Hurt's late entrance to the party in "Altered States".

3. Sid and Nancy. Semi-biographical account of Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols and his girlfriend. One scene, in slo-mo of course, they're kissing in an alleyway and all this trash and junk is falling from another floor near them.

Just seems very romantic to me. No matter what 'trash' and **** they had to go through, they still had each other.

Sid and Nancy is one of my favs! I LOVE that scene too! Gary Oldman was perfect.

Hey AMN, if you watch that scene you mentioned from First Wives Club, pay attention to Goldie Hawn's shoes. Inside she's wearing one pair of white heels, then when they get outside she has on a different pair.

Oh, I love Talladega Nights when Ricky Bobby says how when he's a winner and when he wakes up in the morning he "****** excellance"!!!!!!!! LMAO

Probably NONE of you will remember NOW VOYAGER with Bette Davis and Paul Henreid.

There is the famous scene where he puts two cigarettes in his mouth, lights the both of them, then hands one to her.

Wouldn't fly today, but boy did it fly 70 or so years ago!!!

Oh my gosh! It's ruined forever! The fraud! Seriously, if you look at the spikes she had on indoors and notice the road they dance down, it makes sense. Lloyd's of London probably insures her ankles (and the shoes!).:rolleyes:

I've always been obsessed with Diane Keaton's winter white Pendleton coat (I used to covet it every winter). I LOVE that coat!

How about "Make my day" - and "I just don't give a damn" - and Gandolf riding up through the castle on Shadowfax and the scene from Excaliber where the army is riding through the apple orchard all in bloom - that's spring !!

DM, that has to be one of my favorite lines or all time.

I also like Jack Webb in The D.I., when he make the recruits search a sandy beack in MCRD Perris Island for one single flea that was killed by a recruit. When one was found he asked "Was that flea a male or female?" Needless to say, the one that they found was the wrong sex and they had to keep searching.

It defines how D.I.'s worked on our minds...

I might as well admit that most of Airplane keeps me in tears of laughter, especially when all the passengers get in line with weapons of moderate destruction to clock the whiney dude. :ROTFLMAO: :ROTFLMAO: :ROTFLMAO:

AMN - absolutely! I love the people in the control tower, especially that guy freaking out in the background. :D

Blazing Saddles is another one that keeps me laughing, especially this scene....Madeline Kahn singing "She's Tired." :D
