So how did all of you nice girls celebrate??

Today, Alan and I went to the Japanese Restaurant around the corner. Now YOU KNOW I HAVE A FUNNY STORY RIGHT??

The last time we went there, friends were in from out of town and they wanted Japanese food, so of course we went there.

As we went in, there was such a racket in the back where the kitchen was, all the hammering, ...well, I was quite annoyed. I thought "who does construction in a restaurant where there are customers trying to eat?" But I said nothing, and the hammering stopped.

So today (and I told Alan before we went there), if anyone is making noise, I'm speaking up.

So we get there, we are seated at a table, and sure enough, the hammering starts. I stood up, turned to the people behind the counter and said "Excuse me, but when people are paying for a meal, at least have the decency to provide a nice quiet place in which they can have their meal".

I am met with dead silence.

It was like they had no clue.

So I looked at them, and one of the girls say: "what do you mean (and the hammering was deafening, believe me). Alan looks at me, I look at him as if to say "is everybody deaf or am I crazy????"

I again say to the girl "Go in the back and stop the guy hammering, we want to eat our meal in peace".

Everybody bursts out laughing. I mean, there are three asian girls who think what I just said was the funniest thing on the planet.

So now I'm annoyed and I say: "are you people out of your mind, can't you hear the hammering?"

FINALLY!!! someone comes over to me and whispers in my ear:

"That's the chef, he's flattening the meat for the Kobe beef dish".

I just sat down.

Alan was hysterical and I was mortified.

But my SALMON was great!!!! lol

Happy Mother's Day

Didn't do much today . . . I was recovering from a marathon shopping spree on Saturday. . . something I rarely do for myself. I am just happy to know that my motherly duties all those years ago paid off with a strong, intelligent, independent and very compassionate daughter! I am blessed. . . . :)
