What do you think caused your ALS?
What do you think caused your ALS?
In the intrest of finding a cure for ALS, I would like to pose a question to people that have been diagnosed with ALS. Based on your history, lifestyle, exposures, family background, what do you think caused you to be "catch" the disease? Keep in mind, that you don't have to right about your answer; the objective of this question is to get your gut feeling about what caused the disease in you so that maybe we can gain more insight into what causes the disease for everyone. tell what you think here at neurotalk |
I believe that my ALS was caused by a back injury that compromised my spinal cord allowing heavy metals or a virus to enter.

Why I Have ALS
I am a type A personality..there was nothing in my past that would indicate that I would get this. I woke up one morning with muscle pain and blew it off. After having the pain for a good month, a neuro said it was fibromyalgia. As things got worse and I became unable to walk normal, I went to a new neuro and after tons of tests he said I had ALS. For me it was just life happening.

Aubrey's Response
My husband Aubrey's theory is that he "caught" ALS because of depression. That he had the potential for ALS, but that deep depression is what triggers it.

My symptoms started just after receiving allergy shots. Muscle twitching at sight of shot. Discontinued shots 6 months ago still have muscle twitching and progressive weakness.

I don't have ALS but two of my cousins, brother and sister-2 years apart in age, in their fifties caught this horrible disease. I truly believe they where contaminated many years ago. Their father was in the military (Army 30+years) who was stationed all over the world, in about every continent. There is strong evidence military service can and does pose a higher risk of contracting ALS and its not just the US military but modern militaries of many nations.

I'm suppose to get the pneumonia shot to test my immune system.
Then I thought a few months later, I would take the flu shot. I no longer wish to take the flu shot and am unsure about the pneumonia shot. Has anyone heard of ALS or other serious conditions being caused by the pneumonia shot? How awful!!!!! |
When two people in the same family develop ALS there is a strong possibility theirs is a familial (inherited) edition of ALS.
What was in the pnemonia shot? How do you feel? |
