Hi there from KY

I already know some people here and am looking forward to getting to know the rest. Know that I don't post a lot, though I read pretty often, and that I work weird hours so that when I do post, it tends to be really really early AM.
About me...not much. I have an adult autistic son who I refer to as The Kid, He is 26, very autistic and the light and joy of my world. I am a widow ( ten years now...cannot seem to wrap my head around that one) and suffer from depression....ummm....I have a warped sense of humor and a low tolerance for meaness....I love reading and writing and music...and I am a duck. LOL. That's all, I guess. Look forward to seeing you all about...
:D

Alffe 05-18-2008 11:36 AM

Hi Ducky......and welcome to Neuro Talk! What took you so long? :D

da duck 05-18-2008 11:48 AM

Hi Alffe! :D
I did it for Doody's birthday. LOLOL.
No, I have ben feeling pretty isolated and finally figured out that I have friends and where they were...so here I am. Late but, as always, glad to be here at all

Hi Da Duck!

:Wave-Hello: and :welcome_sign:

Any friend of Doody's and Alffe's is welcome any time.

Now you got any dirt on those two?

Alffe 05-18-2008 12:39 PM

Resist your impulses Ducky.....:D

da duck 05-18-2008 12:43 PM

Shelley,
Oh yeah, I got dirt. Problem is, they got dirt too. LOL. We tell people we keep our dirt out of respect, but don't be fooled. It's fear.

Doody is funny and sweet and hopelessly scatterbrained. At one time she had more glasses than Dr Bizer...and I love her to death.

Alffe is a good, caring person...a joy to sit and listen to and even more fun to watch..especially if Mr Alffe is talking. She also has a wicked smile...and a wicked mind behind it :winky:

Thanks for the warm welcome...it is good to see friends, both old and new.
( Doody, do not assume I mean you by "old"....but don't assume that I don't either)
Ducky

Welcome to NeuroTalk!!!

Sorry for the loss of your dear husband. Happy you have "The Kid" so you can look after each other.

Riverwild works nights, so look for her on the boards after midnight. Also Koala is usually on during those hours.

Glad to have you, da duck!!! Welcome!!!

I know this doesn't exactly fit your situation, but I like to read the "Wonder" threads. Here is the most current:

Hi Ducky,

I now reside in Colorado but I am a fellow Kentuckian, born and raised there.

Kentuckians must have those warped sense of humors. My Dr. and Pa says I have a sick one. LOL I guess I learned growing up that you have to find some humor in what you are dealing with to help you through it.

I hope you enjoy the group. There are a lot of great people on these forums and you will make some great friends along the way of learning.

Thank you all so much! I am really looking forward to getting to know everyone I don't know....course I already know some (and of course I remember you jaded! My long term memory is fine....but otherwise..LOL)
I am not FROM Kentucky,Ada, but I was lucky enough to fetch up here when Dad retired from the Army. Whined about how I wanted to get out...met a local boy...stayed. And now, of course, I love it so much. I am originally from everywhere ( Army brat thing) but the family is from Georgia. I think of that as the ancestral home...LOL.
I am looking forward to talking to everyone. I forget how many friends I have online, and how many more there are to make...
thanks for the reminder.
Ducky

Hi Again,

I use to hate Ky. even though I was raised there but as years go by and Bill and I went back so many times, I really learned to love it.

I have 6 brothers and sisters there and Bill has 6 brothers and sisters left. I want to try and go back this year as I have yet another sibling dealing with cancer and I want to see relatives that I haven't seen for about 5 years. I am still trying to work up the strength to go since I lost Bill.

I am glad you found happiness there. I am sure you will enjoy it here on the forums also.

Ada
