Ouchy
can i just complain? would anyone else like to?
my back and neck hurt soooo bad today. :( hubby was snoring. woudn't roll over. nothing was going to stop him, but duct tape. i was told that could be illegal of me.... so left the room. i layed on couch. not a good thing. i had flipped onto my stomach. the pillow was higher than i am used to. my neck was twisted...my back out of wack. i can barely move. so maybe just a thread were we can all commiserate over daily or chronic pain? give tips to releive it? if it can be? :grouphug: pain free hugs. |
Curious, next time it's HIS turn to go to the couch!
Sending healing touches for your poor back and neck!!! |
 TY twink.
i try and be nice. :o it's him that has to get up early to get to the club. (work..for those who don't know..not his own workout) but yeppers..next time his pah-too-tee to the couch! i really should have known better. i could have used the little blow up bed. guess i should blow it up before bedtime, so i don't wake everyone. i have i nice warm moist towel onmy neck right now. then i'll take a nice hot shower, see if that loosens up my neck. |
I am with you monkey.
I wake up every morning with a headache at the back of my neck and jut ouchies everywhere in my neck and shoulders. A hot shower always helps. I got a mouth guard for my TMJ but I think it makes my headaches worse. Curious those arm rolls on the couch are the worst thing to sleep on they totally mess up your spinal alignment.:hug: |
I slept funny last night too. It's Ibuprofin time.
Hope you feel better soon. |
Ouchie!!!
Have you tried ThermaCare (sp?) wraps? or, if you don't have any... A sock filled with rice and microwave for a few secs. |
that's a good idea bobbi. TY. i'll have to get some of those.
my neck is a bit better. i can move it. :p how are doing bobbi? it's not fun huh shelley? makes you not want to get up , by longer i'm down the worse it is. sandy..maybe it was all the dancing last night. :D i've the got the bone grinding going on in my back. that is not a good sign. ugh. any news on the back transplant? |
I thought of something else: Some times, when everything hurts, going back to sleep later (taking a long nap) helps .
Me? I'm wearing a heart monitor, and have no idea if the monitoring company is receiving the readings at this point (since its tech has failed to keep a scheduled appointment to do the re-setting and verifying the set-up w/a test reading); the vision in my left eye has gone squirrel-y; my PCP is farming me back to my rheumatologist for everything since she believes I need stronger medications (okay, so I got "stuck" on an exam table in her office :o:eek: a couple weeks ago); I've not, yet, received the paperwork for COBRA. How's that for a litany :D. And, the good news is: One of my sunflower plants has reached 8-feet :D. :grouphug: |
Quote:
when will you find out if the heart monitor is being monitored? one of hubby's friends went through that. he had to do all over again. found out his heart if only working at 30% :( sad, but he needs to lose weight and told hubby on friday that he won't get back in the gym until he hits 300. just 4 pounds to go. sending prayers that the cobra gets kicked in fast! i know that is big worry. lol..do you eat the sunflower seeds or let the bird have them? we used to grow them like that. it was fun. the kids got a kick out of eating some and feeding the birds. |
idiot me ended up on the floor last night. :( no way could i handle the couch.
i was trying to think positive about him not snoring. why? haven't a clue. there hasn't been one night in years. i had gone to the fitness center last night. worked out some of the kinks in my neck. did lots of stretches and the weights really slow. it helped. even with sleeping on the floor, my neck isn't so bad. my back is trashed. i am determined to get this extra weight off. i know it is causing me more pain. :( oh, a bright note, hubby promised me we are going to get insurance!! |
:hug::hug: Curious...Insurance would be great!
Has he tried any of those snorning aids like the strips? Dont know if they work or not. Yep woke up all kinked up again. My left arm is so weak. The spine doc says (lemme see if I get this right)...3mm retrolitehsis @ c6. I can raise my right arm to the ceiling but left looks like I am hailing a cag or hitler. And when I try to support weight with it, argh the pain. I tialy think I have been sleeping on it wrong. Anyway back to PT to try to strengthen. :grouphug: |
he has tried those, the sprays, the pills and even a $1000 special mouth piece made by our dentist. that thing killed his jaw. he still sounds like a freight train.
the weird thing, he is really hard to get to wake up and rollover. but as soon as i am out of the bed he is awake. by that time i am so grouchy ( nice word for it) that i leave even when he says he will. last night really ticked me off..he said he was just stretching out his back cuz it hurt. he doesn't know the meaning of a back hurting. have you asked hubby if he notices you speeping in a certain position? be sure to watch how you are sitting at your desk. crossing your legs will make you crooked. |

Possibly, he has a deviated septum ???
The heart monitor is for 21 days & nights/June 11. I'm supposed to see my cardio. doc, again and for the outcome, toward the end of June (don't want to post the exact date :winky:). Initially, I was supposed to wear it until June 6, but the count had to begin again after the sensor's battery cover had to be replaced; the first one was determined to be faulty. (I'm attaching a photo; I've noted its problem for the monitoring company, which had, first, told me to use tape to hold it together. Only thing that accomplished was skin irritation.) My cardio. doc is assessing how my heart is (over)working due to arrhythmia; he's already noted the other heart probs. And, the last time I wore a monitor, it ended up being for over a month. I don't want this time to be botched, but have a feeling something ain't right with this process with this monitoring company. I'll keep some of the sunflowers and let birds have a couple. I've got 48 growing. :D |
Bobbi did the cardio say what kind of arrhythmia? Keeping my fingers crossed that the monitoring goes smoothly.
|
Nope, he didn't specify, but did assure that he's other (women) patients who can actually see and hear their hearts, too. Loud swooshing sounds/hear blood flow and watching my heart pound at times is what led to this 'round of monitoring.
I'd seen my PCP the day prior and she said that he (cardio. doc) might want to increase the amt. of beta blocker I take; he opted for monitoring. |

I hope that you're feeling better, Curious, and have been able to get some solid rest.
 The monitoring ain't going anything like it's supposed to; the monitor is being replaced tomorrow since this one is no longer working. I think: My cardiologist might want to treat the results with a healthy dose of skepticism, since the monitors haven't functioned correctly since the first one arrived. It's not on this end that things have gone wrong; it's the monitor that was provided :(. |
Has you hubby had a sleep study done, that can be a problem with the snoring.:Zzzz::
If you like me even sleeping hurts, this week has been bad |
bobbi:
can't be on your end..you have a heart of gold bobbi. will you have to do the monitoring all over again? any clue on what they think is the matter? rfei57: he had a sleep study done that dx his PLMD. what they said about his snoring was from the position he sleeps in. flat on his back withhis arms above his head..head thrown back so his mouth is wide open. LOL. he can even snore with it closed. he is getting plenty of air and doesnt stop breathing , so it's not apnea. i sleep a few hours at a time. wake up from the pain. i can fall back asleep since i started taking melatonin. :hug:i'm sorry you having a bad week too. |
i missed this post somehow.
one of my aunts had a condition which was the opposite of mitro valve prolapse. i forget the name. :o she had said she could feel and hear her heartbeat. i am so sorry the testing is screwing up. Quote:

:hug::hug: Bobbi.
My DH had an arrythmia 5 years ago. It was supra ventricular tachycardia. Doc explained it like a short circuit where the charge keeps going round and round the circuit and would make his heart be fast on occasion. First attack happened after a batch of spicy chili I made. I thought I killed him  But they dx'd it pretty quick and zapped him with a wire to his heart to close the short circuit. He's been fine ever since. And I have never made that chili again just in case. :D Putting ya in my thoughts and prayers Bobbi  |
The last time (with monitoring), the cardio. said I have PVCs, SVT and (symptomatic) MVP, which I had already known. Possibly, it's the SVT he's wanting to monitor more closely this time?
I called his office and ... if the new monitor doesn't work right, I'm just going to ask him to give me a different one, from a different company. This is getting old. |
Just checking in on ya bobbi?
Is that monitor working yet? I have to say when my DH had his SVT all the docs and the treatment were quite impressive. he has not had a problem since. Keep us posted. Me...today in pain. Left arm and shoulder are a big ouchy....PT said its frozen shoulder. :(:(:( I said I want frozen waistline :p |
Frozen shoulder: Big Ouch!
I'm not convinced, yet, that these monitors are functioning as ideally as might be possible. The new one was set-up yesterday and a baseline was transmitted - after about 30 mins. of working with a tech. and trying repeatedly. I've followed the instructions to the letter, and... when I tried to send the daily reading, "Transmission Error" appeared on the monitor. I re-set the darn'd thing. If the same happens tomorrow, I'm calling my doc. I'm losing patience with this and am afraid of the quality of readings that may/may not be received. I also have to go for another DEXA scan (early onset osteoporosis) and can't do it as long as I'm wearing this monitor, which has to be active nearly 24:7 and kept within 10 feet. |
Oh man Bobbi I'm getting frustrated for you with this heart monitor.
Is it working any better? Well me and my frozen shoulder are chilling out :p. I have been putting heat on it and doing the exercise religiously and it seems a bit better. I have never heard of frozen shoulder until now but you are right it is painful. Hopefully I caught it on the early end. Still all ouchy in the morning from waking up all crunched up. |
I sure hope that your shoulder will start feeling better very soon. It's a real bear having pain and probs. in a body part that is needed. From the way it sounds, it seems that you and your PT did get on it, so to speak, right away. I hope that's key in your recovery from the effects; I believe it is, as with many things.
The prob. with this monitor, and I believe any type reliant on a cell to send readings is: my location. I live in a rural area of the county here. It's difficult, at best, to get a good signal; towers are few and far between. When I got my cell phone (2005), there were two choices re: service providers: One would be useful solely for local; the other, for local and national. So, in reality, there was one choice in providers. So far, though, the monitors have service with providers that are not known to work well in this area. Hence, prob. after prob. in sending the daily readings and event recordings. I'm going to be thrilled when this is over. |
Bobbi, hows the monitoring going?
Over here shoulder thawing :p Now where is that monkey? |
still playing catchup from not having internet for a week.
come to texas..your shoulder would thaw quick. i think it's going to be 99 today. |

yep. :D
and free training and meals. |
I'm giving the monitor a rest until later today; the electrode pads aren't removed very easily. I tore skin off near my collar bone removing the one that has to be placed there.
A few days: Done :D. Hope you're feeling better today . |
Wow! Talk about pain. I hurt everywhere!! My skin even hurts.:(
I had an epidural on May 7th and on the 21st. They worked really well for a while but they are wearing off. I'm starting to feel my oldest pain that I was born with...back pain. The only relief I have is to load up on my night time pills and wait for them to work. I am so worn out all the time because so much of my energy is spent fighting my pain! I'm looking at this fall for my 5th back surgery.... Oh wells, sorry to have complained so much... |
 this is the place to complain...whine...moan and groan tam.
we are all right there with you have have been there. you hit the nail on the head. I am so worn out all the time because so much of my energy is spent fighting my pain! |
I am sorry to see that you've an upcoming surgery but ... gotta do what you gotta do. I sure hope it helps to alleviate most (if not all) of your pain.
|
Hows's everyone?
:hug: Tam, I hope the surgery helps. Bobbi you done monitoring yet? Doc have any results Hey monkey hows your back today? My shoulder is relatively the same. Got an ouchy cortizone shot..can you say cure is worse than the disease  Range still the same but pain down a little. Been doing PT...all that stretching seems to have aggravated a little sciatica. Oh well...ouch. :D |

http://www.spearboard.com/rofl.gif That'd take care of the problem. :D http://www.spearboard.com/rofl.gif Let HIM know who's BOSS.

Yippee... the monitor is way gone. I sent that thing back the first day I could. I got a huge $$$ bill for its use today. Oh, like it was elective or done for cosmetic reasons. What a bunch of vultures, hawking for every tight li'l penny they can try to squeeze outta someone.
The sum of the bill was $2,400. My share? over $800. "Allegedly" because the diagnostic stuff was not done by "a preferred provider." If life went perfectly, I would not have opted to wear the thing. My cardiologist doesn't make them, and, it's highly unlikely he has the time to actively monitor each reading from every patient he thinks should wear a monitor. Like, uhmm, he does do surgery, too. When's he got the time? Of course, some things are "brokered" out. It's foolish to think otherwise. Anyway, the woman who does billing for my doc's office told me not to worry about it. She said, it's most probable I'll never see another bill even if I don't pay it (and that it won't go to collections). She also told me to call her if they try billing me again and she'll jump in. And... my cardio. doc went over the results of wearing the pesky monitors. But, before he did, I mentioned that I was concerned about the reliability of the data since there were so many problems and a basic inconsistency inherent in having to use cell monitors dependent on signals not always available in my area. That didn't matter. He still got what he needed. He showed me what my heart looks like when it's doing its things. I guess, one way to put it is, the wiring is messed up . It beats way too rapidly at times, and he said that some of that is valve related, and, other times, it slows too much. Soooo, he's sending me for a nuclear CT scan. He wants to make sure that I'm not going to suddenly drop dead. He's not worried about any artery prob.; he said that if that were a prob., I'd already be dead - in the time since the last stress testing was done. And, I am so worn out, and slept hours after the appointment. The rancid smoke outside isn't helping, I suspect. The doctor cracked me up. It was such a politically incorrect appointment so I can't pass along the funnies he shared. :D. P.S. I don't know how cardiologists know what they know, but he did say that it was his job to find out what makes things worse. In my situation, he believes that stress is one of those things. It can be good (happy, excitement) or bad stress. He did seem quite pleased that the monitor provided him with a lot of info. He did throw me when he said, "See, it's not in your head." I asked what he meant and whether he thought I may have been embellishing. Nope, but said he does see some people who think they have something wrong and there's nothing wrong with them. "You know what you're feeling," he said. Duh. If it wasn't bothering me so much and making me feel so fatigued, I wouldn't have mentioned it. |
Well Bobbi I am glad that the doc got the data he needed from the monitoring.
Keep us posted on the CT scan will ya. Shoulder still frozen here but only ouchy when I sleep on it. |
