Tim Russert died
How sad. God Bless him and his family in this difficult time.
The elections this year will not be the same without his coverage. |
very very sad.
|
Oh, I just read this on Yahoo...
yes, Shelley, I totally agree with you.
A huge loss for all of us. RIP Tim! (I am looking in the graphics...and there are no flower icons!):( |
You just never know, do ya'? Dang.
Thanks, Shell. :( |

I have been watching the news on-line for about two hours about Tim Russert's death, and all I can think of is how my wife is going to deal with the news. She does not know yet, as she is at work at the Arboretum in Arcadia. Tim Russert was one of the most amazing people that she knew. I am so sorry for Tim's family but even more sorry for what I know my wife will be dealing with in a few hours. -Vic |

so many will, Sue. |
OMG, how very sad.
:( |
Meet The Press will never be the same and the election coverage this year will not be complete without Tim...what a sad loss, for his family.
"This is Big" his famous quote...this is a big loss. He will be missed. |
Awwwww, No, I will truly miss him.
Rest in Peace, Tim. |
I am so sad about Tim Russert's death. I have been watching MSNBC this afternoon.
I always looked forward to his interviews because he was the only one who wasn't obvious about his political position. I watched him interview Steve Martin a few months ago and it was one of the best I have ever seen. He could interview movie stars as easily as politicians. May he rest in peace. |
I'm going to miss him. You could always count on an enlightening and fair interview and coverage from him. From what they're writing in the press, he was just an all-around great man.
|
I'm shocked and saddened. He was who I looked for to try to get to the truth. A great guy.
|
I am really sad about this.:icon_cry:
It ached me when I heard his wife and son were still in Italy where he had been with them celebrating his son's graduation from Boston college Apparently he had returned ahead of them. I cannot begin to imagine their devastation and sorrow, as well as that of his elderly dad "Big Russ":( I pray God's comfort for his family and colleagues. |
I have been watching the coverage all afternoon and into the evening.
They just mentioned that he was recently saddened by the fact that 10 days ago he had to put his dad Big Russ into an assisted living home. :( He sounds like he was an amazing human being. |
How sad. He was an amazing man.
|
I too, am very saddened about his passing.
He gave me a reason to get up on Sunday mornings to watch "Meet the Press". I will miss his insight and reporting during the coming presidential election. I have never been a political junkie, but I always enjoyed his reporting on political issues. R.I.P. Mr. Russert. |
Mornings on MSNBC won't be the same. He was sometimes a "guest" on "Morning Joe," which I watch nearly every day. Listening to his friends/colleagues... I did learn that he just loved Yogi Berra, and stammered like a kid when he had Yogi on "Meet the Press."
Also, what resonates is that if those who appeared on "Meet the Press" picked up bias, then, they weren't on-air with T. Russert. He sure did love his family! Very sad he died - and that he put work before health (as do so many). He had only recently learned that he had an asymptomatic condition and was beginning to work on that - to change things. |
Last night I was in tears watching just a few minutes of coverage on Tim Russert. I adored that man. And he was so excited about the political arena this year.
My Sunday morning will never be the same without him in Meet the Press. We'll miss you Tim Russert. Until we meet again. :heartthrob: |
I am right there with you all. I was so shocked when I heard the news. So, so sad. I thought he was simply amazing and in hearing the stories after his death, am not surprised that he touched the lives of so many in such a deep, personal way. So many of the memorials have been so touching. I had tears in my eyes non-stop as I watched this morning's news programs. Tom Brokaw hosted "Meet the Press" and couldn't get through the show without breaking down. My heart goes out to his wife, son and "Big Russ".
A few times over the last 2 days I heard this wonderful quote that Tim used to say: “The best exercise for the human heart is to bend down and pick someone else up.” R.I.P. Tim Russert -- he will be sorely missed by so many. |
This news broke my heart...what a giving and wonderful person he was. His time was too short and I'll miss him!
|
The world has lost an amazing Political Analyst. The next election just won't be bearable w/o Tim.

I was right there with ya Steve, cried like a girl during Meet the Press...and I am a girl.
I tivoed the Today Show this mornign because his son Luke will be on. |
Bearygood, I hope you don't mind me taking that quote from Tim Russert from you as my siggy.
I was watching the bunch of different tributes to him on different networks. One of the things he said really resonated with a current situation of ours. It was about Tim's dad telling him that the world doesn't owe him anything and that he needs to work hard for everything and how Tim tried his very best to instill that unto his son (with some modifications, of course) looking at Tim's son who turned out quite well. I believe Tim succeeded... We've been having situations with our kids and we hope our kids will learn that...eventually... boy, who CAN they find to replace him???? |
TIM RUSSERT MEMORIAL SERVICE LIVE ON MSNBC
A private memorial service for Tim Russert will be held tomorrow (Wednesday) at 4 p.m. ET at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. MSNBC will provide live coverage |
I was shocked when I heard that Russert had passed. My dad died on the kitchen floor of a heart attack when I was 17, so I felt this deeply.
I felt so sorry for his son and his dad...no parent wants to survive their children. Tim, rest in peace. Go get 'em! |

It really is a great loss. He wasn't full of himself like most you see on TV nowadays, and he could ask tough questions without acting like a jerk. There were plenty of times he'd ask a follow-up question that was completely in tune with my thinking. It was so refreshing (really hate it when a question isn't answered, lol). When he did speak of himself, he was always humble and gave credit where credit was due. He died way too early. My prayers go out to his family. However, in looking back on recent clips, I suspect he died doing what he loved. His book also gave him the opportunity to resolve any issues and fully connect with his family again. His son will have a good and strong story to carry with him for the rest of his life. Rest in peace, Tim. You were a beautiful man. |
My most favorite thing I've heard is about his son's tattoo. His mother had bought him a new shirt for Christmas and had asked him to try it on. His T-shirt got caught up in something and ... she saw it. The tattoo.
She told his father, Tim, about it. When he asked Luke about the tattoo, his son explained. It was the initials T.J.R., his grandfather's and father's initials. He said that he always wanted them at his side. |
Did modern medicine fail Tim Russert?
There are some medical details and facts on this site that
are very illuminating about the way modern medicine treats patients today: http://www.naturalnews.com/023472.html Why give statins to a person who doesn't have high cholesterol? |
