I NEED help or explanations...I just hurt in so many ways

A few weeks ago I posted regarding a situation I had felt. It was entitled "crackle and pop, but no snap", I think. Anyways at the time, I felt something in my head crackle and pop, like an electric shock. I had at the time a sinus infection, so some suggested that it may have been that, however that has cleared up and is doing o.k.

This a.m. however, I had another weird feeling. It was snap and then a very weird feeling like my body was floating in the air. The snap hurt like crazy. It was in the same location as the other "electric shock". I have been having these severe things going on in my head and back. I am jumpy in those area's and I mean literally my whole body moves when this happens. It doesn't whether I am active or not, they happen. It hurts so bad. It interrupts my sleep and bothers me at all time. Did I mention it HURTS!

So I have some questions...

1) Could these be spacisity?
2) Clonic jerks
3) Any other idea's/suggestions/thoughts.

I have a schedule to see my neuro on Aug. 26.

Please help me

Missy,

I do not know what it is, but if I were you I would go to the neuro on Monday and not wait until August. But that's just me.

Missy - I agree with Vic. I wouldn't wait until August as this doesn't sound right. That is too long to wait.

Please take care and let us know how you are doing.

BTW - Do you get seizures at all?

hurtsobad73 07-06-2008 07:37 PM

I have been dx with Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures. I have not had one in almost 4 weeks. I have been doing neuro-feedback, which I am catching on to. Maybe I am trying to have a seizure, but what I have learned is helping me stop them? What do you think?

I still feel though that it is more than that. I was dx as "Probable MS" in 2004 they have just never had concrete evidence of such. However, someone mentioned to me to have the neuro do an MRI on my spinal cord. He has never done that. Actually he is my third neuro and none of them have done that. They have only done MRI's on my brain. So I am defintely calling them tomorrow and getting in there.

Thank you all for your help. Please keep it coming with any other idea's/suggestions/support.

i would ask for at least a c-spine mri.
i couldn't venture a guess as to what's happening but i do think you need to see your neuro.

if they can't get you in maybe seeing your pcp would help.

call the neuro's office each am and ask if they've had any cancellations.
sometimes that helps to get an appt.

Hey Missy~ I'm in agreement w/the others. Please call your Neuro tomorrow. Sounds like something going on that requires attention and you need to put your mind at ease. Keep us posted, OK. *sending hugs*

Ditto. Especially because of the pain factor and it waking you.

Called my PCP today. He "doesn't wanna" go the mri route (even though it has been almost two years since I have had one). He doesn't recognize the problem (I have to say he is a very smart dr. Graduated top honors at Yale and then MIT). I trust him with almost my inner parts. I just wonder if he is missing something here. He has asked me to come in and he will do a complete neurological check before sending me back to the neuro sooner than August 26.

Should I be insistant on the MRI? Should I ignore his request to not go to the neuro sooner, if possible? I don't want him to think I don't trust him, because that is SO not true. I just don't want to be the one that slips through the cracks and ends up getting a dx of something "a little bit too late". You know what I mean?

I would love to hear your thoughts on this...but only IF YOU WANNA...lol

I would go for it. Go to the appointment, get the complete neurological exam done and then take it from there.

Let us know how the appointment goes. Wishing you the best.
