Hi all ... I've landed a place that is open for disabled and seniors ... and I move in THIS Friday ... (officially - Saturday, July 12) ...

we've been having some wet weather here ... but, by the weekend - should be good to move the big stuff ...

I'm excited ... it's all new(er) and clean!! ... and healthy ... I can't believe how bad the mold smell was while living in the trailer!! I think I actually am feeling SO much better ... hmmm, maybe mold is something the docs should run a test on to come up with a cure??

thanks for all your prayers and thoughts and encouragement thru this transition .. I found ALOT of postcards during my packing ... so I will get back into that shortly!!

Yay for you! Von, that is great news! Be sure to post lots of pics of the new digs once you're settled into it. How fun, new scenery and hopefully, better landlords. :)

i am so glad you finially have a place ... now comes the fun part ... unpacking everything you have just packed away ...

Vonn, I'm so happy for you. You deserve this and I hope you'll share pics with us once you have a chance to settle in. You've waited so long and worked so hard for this.....I just know this will be a positive change for you!! :hug:

it's been only 3 hours since the news ... and I'm getting a bit excited!! have the new phone (broadband - wizzing speed!) set up for friday ... so I'll have it for the weekend .. (about $35/mon) - still out in the boonies, but will be nice!

it's starting to sink in ... clean carpets, fresh paint, wider doorways, water works, power works .... geez, what more?? yes, yes - I'll pick up a digital camera too .. have to start posting pix of the quilts, etc!!

howdy all - thanks for the kudos and well wishes! ... just got back from setting up a new checking account in my new town ... and it's HUMID outside - so, that has zapped a ton of energy out of me until it gets cooler out later ...

this feels good ... totally different ... but, good!

I know that I have to get rid of my towels and such - I'm really sensitive to 'that' smell now - weird!! and one of my friends wants to buy me new towels as my house-warming gift ... neat, huh???

on sunday - ran into a friend at church (that I knew when I lived here a few years ago) ... and he, too, has MS ... and it was just so awesome to talk to someone that understands!! he's had it since 89 - he too has touble with walking (like me in the hip area) ... and poops out with the heat! wowza!

when I said that I don't have any family - he says 'you have your family now!' (meaning my church-fam/frds) .. which is cool .. :D

Hey Von~ Your thread made my day! Congrats on the new digs and you just sound so much better. Keep us posted and don't work too hard unpacking. Take it slow....

thanks all ... well, not only do I have one place - but two to choose from .. and the 2nd one is here in town... uh, by the water!! ... and cost wise between the 2 - only $6! and the one that is here in town - close to friends etc ...

I'm weighing the options right now ... the 2nd place seems a bit larger too! hmmm ...

I did it .. I chose the one facing the lakefront ... and closer to my friends ... it was a tough decision .. and I had to make a choice ...

the 2nd place is bigger and offers more amenities ... includes frige, stove, mike and dishwasher ... and extra storage within the room ...

now to get the internet set up ...

thanks again for all your thoughts and well wishes! I'll be able to move in TODAY (well, if their computer system is back up and running) ... or tomorrow .. but, I won't be homeless anymore!

Hi all ...

well, I've been IN my new place just over a week ... still unpacking ... but it's a beautiful scene outside my window ...

I even feel so much better (healthwise) ... don't smell mold or anything here!

had to move into a low-income/senior independent living housing ... and it's going good .. haven't lived in an apartment-type housing for over 20 years ... but, doing okay ..

still waiting for SSDI .. and now with the move - hopefully everything gets forwarded ... didn't have a 'real' address for almost 3 weeks ... semi-homeless! LOL

just wanted to say thanks for all the encouragement ...
