as some of you may know

A couple years ago, around xmas we took in a young lady and her baby boy Landon. We have helped her as best we can and guided her too. we dearly love her child.

she and her husband got back together about a yr ago and we helped them out, today heather mckenzie was born 7lbs 13oz 21 inches long mom and baby are doing well, this time dad showed up for the birthing and not drunk he is cleaning himself up, told my wife she wont be needed as a coach, hugged deb and said he had something to prove to his wife that he will be there,

I hope for there sake everything works out, I just thought it would be nice to pass on some good news

What a great act of kindness...hope that hubby turns his life around so they can be a family.

I am so thankful for my family...

What great news! I hope things continue to improve for that family.....and bless you and Deb for taking them in during their time of need. I know that must have been stressful (at least a little bit) but rewarding at the same time. :)

Thanks for sharing Frank....I had a dream about a baby last night...prayers for the family as they step up to the challange....

lady_express_44 07-10-2008 10:01 AM

Nice of the hero to step up to the plate in the final hour.

Of course I wish them all good things . . . but it doesn't sound like this guy has it in him to be a man YET. Personally, I think 2 months of reconciliation with a drunk is not enough time to evaluate whether having another child is a good plan.

Sounds like they both need to do a bit of growing up.

Good on ya for being there for her, in her time of need. I suspect it won't be the last time you'll need to be . . . but hopefully I'm proven wrong.

Cherie

weegot5kiz 07-10-2008 12:18 PM

yes it was rewarding and refreshing to have a baby in the house once again, besides his first words were gwranpa lol as hard as grandma tried to get him to say ,memaw and mama , those were not his first words, what can I say landon is a smart kid

I also agree with you cherie, I hold a fearful reserve he will fail he hasnt been the model father or parent, Yet i do hope I am wrong in my fears, as does the mom she feels she has to give it one more chance and so far he has been doing well, keep fingers and eyes crossed, thanks everyone

peace

hey frank, You prove the point that one act of kindness can have the opportunity to change the world. That one baby and now the newborn are better off because you gave the mom an idea of what life can be.

So even if the father does not manage to step up, you have given the mother the chance.

You made the world a little better. what a gift.

WOW! What a delightful story Frank.

I do remember you telling us about the older child and his mom, but another baby for you to love.....even if from a distance? How wonderful! :)

You and Deb are such special people, and it's people like you who give hope to the next generation.

Thank you for sharing. :grouphug:
