Hi, I am new to this site. I am being diagnosed as having vascular thoracic outlet syndrome. I say "being" because I still nee to have other tests done. I have had a sowllen, blue (off/of) right hand for almost two years and my workman's comp doctor was taking care of my shoulder and didn't do anything about my hand cause he said it was coming from my shoulder, dud...Well wanted to get info/advise on others with same problems and and also to ask how is this condition treated??

Hello Susiet, and welcome to NeuroTalk.

I'm sorry to hear that you have TOS as I know how painful that can be, but we do have an active forum here on NT where others may be able to answer some of your questions.

Here's the direct link just incase you haven't found it yet. : http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum24.html

One big, warm, tight, hug, handshake and howdy, moose-size official type welcome to the site. This place is amazing!

I'm not familiar with the TOS, but we have many members here who are. Poke around some of our forums, one is specifically for TOS related issues. We have a great support system here... all you have to do is speak up. But more importantly;

You are not alone.:)
You are one of us.
And we are here to help.:grouphug:

Hi, and welcome to NT ! ! !

Your cry is all too familiar to us. We do understand :grouphug:

Been there... no fun...

I wrote "51 TIPS FOR TOSERS" that has some good helpers in them.

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...tips+TOSEr%27s

This was in "2008"

I've progressed very well in the last 2 years.

Hang in there. You'll find something here to help you for now. Hopefully, you wil find things to help you in the long term.

Nobody needs TOS. I think it's far from being understood by many in the medical community. You must become your own advocate for your own protection. Don't just jump into anything. Be careful...

It will not be an easy path to walk. We're here for you :grouphug:

TOS caused by extra set of ribs that created aneurism on right side

Hello,

I had TOS caused my an extra set of ribs. It all started with a pin prick feeling in my right finger tips (the right side is the affected side) it then went to my fingers turning white and then my hand going fully tingly and the full hand turning white then it moved up my arm and it started getting weak when holding things or using it. My whole arm and hand starting tingling and getting that over worked feeling when I was doing nothing. It then started hurting but that might have been due to blood clots that were in my arm so that might not happen with just TOS. It took the doctors forever to figure out what was wrong with me they thought I had reynauds and I can't even remember now half the stuff they thought it wasn't until an angiogram that they saw what it was and I was in surgery two days later! I hope this helps!!!!
