OT - Better Than Sex

Cake.

Get your minds outta the gutter. Sent this to Ms. Alffe and she suggested sharing it.

My cousin Dawny brought it to the 4th of July picnic this year. An aside note, she is still suffering with all of the trauma from a horrible accident 2 years ago when she was sitting in a car at the side of the interstate, while a friend helped with a disabled car. She was in a seatbelt just sitting in the car when someone in an SUV struck her car going 80 mph. She spent over 2 months in the hospital and doesn't remember one minute of it.

Anyway, she's a dear and her cake is totally awesome!

Box of any kind of German Chocolate cake
Bake this like it says.

When the cake is done baking, Poke holes in it using a straw or whatever works. The amount of holes is up to you.
Then pour 14oz.can of sweetened condensed milk. over entire cake.

Put in refrigerator to cool at least 1 hour.

Spread ice cream CARAMEL topping over entire cake
Spread HOT FUDGE topping over entire cake.
Spread COOL WHIP over entire cake.
Drizzle HERSHEYS SYRUP around cake, making any design you want.
Sprinkle broken HEATH CANDY BAR pieces on top.

Refrigerate and should be refrigerated when not eating it.

ANd to think my first thought was SHOPPING!!!!!!

snoozie 07-29-2008 04:45 PM

How about sex while the cake is cooling??? At least then you can compare the two LOL :D:D:p...Sue

Alffe 07-29-2008 04:47 PM

:D woulda, shoulda, coulda....:D

Doody 07-29-2008 04:57 PM

Goofy girls.

Lordy, Moi will be ALL OVER this thread! :D

Wren 07-29-2008 05:18 PM

OK OK OK ............ If moi will be here ;)

NUTTY CAKE

1 cake (chocolate or white) prepared in 9x13 pan. (white is best)
1 can of coconut milk
1 can Eagle Brand milk
2 Cups Coconut Flakes
Big container of Cool Whip (I use real whipped cream if I'm being picky)

While the cake is still warm poke lots of holes .....I use the handle of a wood spoon.
Slowly pour the coconut milk all over and let it set a bit so it soaks in.
Slowly pour the Eagle Brand Milk all over and then cover the whole thing with plastic wrap and put it in the 'fridge for a while (over night is fine)
When you're ready to eat - cover the cake with the Cool Whip and cover that with the coconut.
If moi is coming cover the coconut with pecans or any additional sort of nuts.

Curious 07-29-2008 05:26 PM

:D i have a yummy "poked" cake recipe too.

Grass Hopper Cake

bake a white or yellow cake ( from a box!! :D) in a 13x9 pan.

cool. poke holes with a straw or the handle of a wooden spoon about 1 1/2 inches a part.

pour 1 can of hershey chocolate syrup all over the cake..into the holes. put the cake in the fridge while you prepare the topping.

topping.

1 large container of cool whip
creme de menthe ( NOT MINT EXTRACT)

add the creme de menthe to taste. you can use the stuff from the grocery store or the liquer store. i use about 2 -4 tablespoons. you know i don't measure. spread onthe top of the cake and refridgarate an hour or so...longer actually tastes better. i make it the night before.

sabimax 07-29-2008 05:37 PM

stop stop.....now I want cake...that sounds soooo good...mmmmm but I dont like the kind of candy bar pieces suggested..but I could pick different kind hehehee hugsss, sarah

Curious 07-29-2008 05:38 PM

you can switch that up sarah. it's great way to use halloween candy. my kids love to make it. and eat it. :D

Curious 07-29-2008 05:39 PM

this sounds weird, but it is soooo good. i made it many times for a church brunch.

Snicker Salad recipe

6 Granny Smith apples
6 large Snicker bars
12 ounces Cool Whip
Chocolate sprinkles
Chop the apples and Snicker bars into small bite-size pieces. Mix thoroughly into the Cool Whip. Use the sprinkles for garnish over the top. For best flavor, refrigerate for several hours.

it's like eating those awesome carmel apples they sell at the mall.

megveg 07-29-2008 05:40 PM

what does the condensed milk do? it sounds gross to put on there lol, the only thing i can think to put it in is magic cookie bars lol

Quote:

Magic Cookie Bars

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, melted
1 (14-ounce) can EAGLE BRANDŽ Sweetened Condensed Milk (NOT evaporated milk)
2 cups (12 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/3 cups flaked coconut
1 cup chopped nuts

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (325°F for glass dish). In small bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and butter; mix well. Press crumb mixture firmly on bottom of 13X9-inch baking pan.
Pour EAGLE BRANDŽ evenly over crumb mixture. Layer evenly with remaining ingredients; press down firmly with fork.
Bake 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool. Cut into bars or diamonds. Store leftovers covered at room temperature.

Curious 07-29-2008 05:42 PM

it helps turn the cake into a creamy carmely gooey goodness. it won't taste like it does straight from the can.

Jomar 07-29-2008 05:47 PM

here's another one-
[BETTER THAN ROBERT REDFORD DESSERT]

1 c. flour
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. finely chopped pecans
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 c. powdered sugar
1 (12 oz.) container Cool Whip
1 lg. pkg. instant vanilla pudding
1 lg. pkg. instant chocolate pudding
3 c. cold milk
Grated chocolate candy bar

Prepare bottom crust by mixing together flour, butter and pecans until crumbly. Press into greased 9 x 13 inch glass pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until lightly golden. Cool. Beat cream cheese with sugar until smooth; fold in half of Cool Whip. Spread over cooled crust. Combine vanilla and chocolate pudding mix. Beat in milk until smooth and thickened. Spread over cream cheese layer. Spread remaining Cool Whip over top. Sprinkle with grated chocolate bar. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Serves 12 to 16 people.]

LOL-----Justy kidding:p:p:p...Sue:eek:

Wren 07-29-2008 07:19 PM

Snoozie...............eat some cake while you're waiting for moi to talk :winky:

Junie 07-29-2008 07:49 PM

While I can think of many things better then sex I like to fill my poked holes with choc pudding then frosted with dark choc frosting or fill holes with mixture of van pudding and cream cheese before choc frosting:):)

Wren 07-29-2008 09:42 PM

I've been trying to remove my "Thanks" from this one ..........
I went to bed and can't go to sleep. I keep thinking about the Snicker Salad recipe. I've never seen one anything like that and can't even imagine it. Out here in the woods we don't have open-all-night stores.
I can't get those apples and Snickers until tomorrow .....I'll have to drive into town ..... all the way into town .......if I go into town I'll have to stop for lunch.......I'll eat pure junk for lunch..........more weight ..........then I'll make that salad ....... what will I do with that much salad .... sweet salad ......... I'll have to eat it all myself......... I'll gain more weight .....

Curious 07-29-2008 10:27 PM

awwww wren...i'm so sorry. :( i should have waited until tomorrow to post it. but really..it's worth it. but you can make it with 1 apple and 1 snicker bar. use just enough cool whip to hold it together.

i justify eating it, cuz an apple a day keeps the dr away. :D

watsonsh 07-29-2008 10:29 PM
