Oh no! The arch collapsed in UT!

I am so glad I got to see it, and even got a couple pics of it before it went down. "Dust to dust" now has a whole new meaning to me.

Wow! I'm stunned. What a brief time we humans are here for, really. Nature seemed eternal...until now.

tovaxin_lab_rat 08-10-2008 06:40 PM

NO Way!!! Geez and it didn't even make the news here in Idaho! I wonder if it did in Utah! It's one of the best known and most visited parks in Utah!

watsonsh 08-10-2008 06:48 PM

I think FG tried to fly her plan under it and knocked it down. :p

Such a shame.

As soon as I heard that on the news today, my first thought was, I wonder if that's one of the places AMN visited on her road trip west last year? Glad you got to see it before it went! :)

FlyFishin Momma 08-10-2008 07:49 PM

Oh Bummer..............guess it goes to show what time does to everything here on this earth!!!!!

I know it will be missed.........

Thanks for the update!

Gazelle 08-10-2008 08:15 PM

The left side kinda looks like the Sphinx with its jaw missing.

SandyC 08-10-2008 08:17 PM

How crazy is that? How cool would it be to see it? I wonder if they will try to "erect' it back up.

*shut up*

there ain't enough viagra or glue in the world... apparently it's in very small pieces on the ground...

rubble, as in Barney Rubble...

I have a family photograph of our ol Rambler station wagon going through the tunnel tree in Yosemite, in 1967.

http://www.alamedainfo.com/redwood_tree_ca.htm

and another of us all gathered at that arch in Utah.
