So Off Topic LOL

Did you ever wonder if everything you are doing or that is happening is all in your head? Did you ever wonder if you may be in a corner somewhere dreaming this whole thing up? Ever wonder if we are really on the lower end of the totem pole of life and there's something bigger and badder out there?:confused::confused:

:p:p:p:p:p:p:p

Curious 08-27-2008 01:46 PM

or that you really live inside a speck?

horton hears a who is one of my favorite's. :D

SallyC 08-27-2008 01:55 PM

Actually, it is all in your head, Sandy. Didn't any body ever tell you that.

As far as the Totem Pole .......The dang thing has pounded me into the ground.:D

Twinkletoes 08-27-2008 01:59 PM

Yeah, as a kid I used to wonder about that a lot. I wondered if the whole world was a stage and I was the star -- like Truman.

How can anything be "OT" at The Stumble Inn? :D

Yes, I've often wondered this same thing. Sadly though, it makes my head hurt to think that hard so................

Are there people watching us right now? Are they laughing or are they crying? lmao

Debbie D 08-27-2008 03:28 PM

I had a spiritual teacher once who said try to think of your life as a movie that God has popped into a VCR (it was in the 80s); that our life is nothing more than an amusement for God.
Thanks for making my life even more meaningful, teacher!

I'm laughing! Particularly at herekitty's futile attempt to give a damn! Now I'm embarrassed....came here looking for something, saw this, and forgot everything else.

FinLady 08-27-2008 03:36 PM

Kinda like the Matrix or the Neverending Story?

AfterMyNap 08-27-2008 03:40 PM

*ducking head into thread*

Ever hear the term "paranoid delusional"?

*slamming door*

AfterMyNap 08-27-2008 03:46 PM

Jacques: All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages. At first, the infant,
Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms.
Then the whining schoolboy, with his satchel
And shining morning face, creeping like snail
Unwillingly to school. And then the lover,
Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad
Made to his mistress' eyebrow. Then a soldier,
Full of strange oaths and bearded like the pard,
Jealous in honour, sudden and quick in quarrel,
Seeking the bubble reputation
Even in the canon's mouth. And then the justice,
In fair round belly with good capon lined,
With eyes severe and beard of formal cut,
Full of wise saws and modern instances;
And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts
Into the lean and slippered pantaloon
With spectacles on nose and pouch on side;
His youthful hose, well saved, a world too wide
For his shrunk shank, and his big manly voice,
Turning again toward childish treble, pipes
And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all,
That ends this strange eventful history,
Is second childishness and mere oblivion,
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.

does it have a sequel?

barb02 08-27-2008 04:18 PM

Or maybe we all live in a snow globe. Isn't there a Christmas movie about that?

NaeNae 08-27-2008 04:28 PM

Perhaps Sandy ate a bad batch of brownies today................:Red eyes:

weegot5kiz 08-27-2008 04:31 PM

you mean a good batch of brownies:yikes:

SandyC 08-27-2008 04:57 PM

Perhaps Sandy isn't Sandy at all but a mere cell that has found its way off the beaten path?

weegot5kiz 08-27-2008 05:02 PM

lol you are killing me

So true. :Ponder:

dmplaura 08-27-2008 05:41 PM

I smelled special brownies in this thread, so I returned.

Who's the lovely baker? :eek::D

NaeNae 08-27-2008 05:50 PM

I'm thinking Sandy was standing next to the oven inhaling all of the yumminess and then partook of a brownie or two when they were done! And yet she still hasn't been brave enough to mail me any! LOL

SandyC 08-27-2008 06:03 PM

I am thinking Renee is wishing she was standing next to that oven.

It can't be me because I am in a corner thinking this is happening when it's really just an active imagination on overload.

Ever wonder how we got to where we are in life?

Ever wonder why we chose the paths we did OR were they already chosen?

Ever wonder why you shouldn't have done something yet did it anyway, like not getting your hair cut?

NaeNae 08-27-2008 06:07 PM

With the spasms in my legs the way they have been u may be right!

dmplaura 08-27-2008 06:18 PM

I wonder who's cruel idea of a joke giving me MS was. Does that count? :D

Sure it does! Right?

Debbie D 08-27-2008 07:51 PM

Curious,
Yes, there's a sequel...it's called reincarnation. My good friends, when I bring that subject up, say, "I don't want to come back. It sucks enough going through this once!"

Pass that plate of brownies...I don't need the herbal ones...chocolate will do it for me:rolleyes:

tkrik 08-27-2008 08:16 PM

Do you ever wonder why/how people have so much time on their hands to think up the things they do? lol

I admit, as a kid, I too thought of many of these questions. As an adult, I think I need to revert back to that "wonderment" of youth.;)

SandyC 08-27-2008 08:40 PM

Life is way too complicated to not wonder. The pure beauty is right before our eyes and that too makes me wonder.

Do you ever stare into the clouds and float away with them? I don't mean literally, but just lose yourself to their beauty?

Do you ever just sit outside and find something that catches your eye and ponder the beauty of it?

Do you ever just take a moment to sit very still and mediate. It is very calming.

Do you ever wonder if there is more than your seeing or choose to see?

I do.

weegot5kiz 08-27-2008 08:52 PM

ask deb I give magic cloud rides, when she is over stress I will massage her back and talk of lying on the edge of a big puffy cloud looking down at the landscape so green so peaceful slowly floating over the land watching the clouds shadow as it rolls over the fields and over hills and across creeks, just to slowly float over the land so peaceful so calm

meditation is very calming I miss my long walks into the woods(thank you MS) where I would sit and meditate, I have come out of meditation to find critters near me a deer a few times a ground hog once but I was of no threat so they were probably trying to figure why this weird oh was sitting in their area

YES!!! I do do some of this. And, I always feel as if there is more to see than what I am seeing. The difference is taking to time to SEE more (a closer look).

Have you ever laid done on the ground or looked up at a tree that was blowing in the wind and watch the leaves move? To me it looks so magical as they move and shimmer.

NaeNae 08-27-2008 09:01 PM

Thinking Sandy inhaled and is listening to Magic Carpet Ride! LOL

Phew . . . I'm ok then? Thanks, Sandy!! :Excited:

I learned how insignificant I was when I traveled considerably. I spent most of 5 yrs living in other cultures, and came to realize that the way I see things is purely based on the environment I was raised in, and the cultural norms I have been taught. (Hence my tag at the bottom of my postings...).

I live according to my own conscience now . . . not somebody else's vision of what is right and wrong . . .

I am but a speck of sand, trying to build my own little castle . . . just like the rest of us. Do I matter though? . . . probably not very much in the larger scheme of things.

... back to being confoosed. :Crazy 2:

Cherie

SandyC 08-28-2008 11:17 AM

Hmmm, that made sense to me. lmao

weegot5kiz 08-28-2008 11:22 AM
