Chat rooms?
 

Hi, I am new to these boards, but not so new to Neuro chats etc.
I used to use the old MGH boards and then it went to the new chatrooms advanced and then the Braintalk and Brain chat... only found these Neurotalk ones last evening.
I used to go by the name KC way back in the beginning...my new name is a combination of initials and last name... hard to think of something new.
I have a daughter who has NF, she was only in jr high then, but is now 24 and working with her own apartment and getting along well.
I have gone through my own ups and downs, with migraines, depression and feelings of inadequacies etc. but right now and doing fairly well, not perfect but better.
I always found the chat rooms a great place to just chatter and get some comraderie, but it seems these days no one is chatting.. so thought I would post a message to introduce myself and see if perhaps I can make contacts with like minded people. etc..
make some new friends and be of some help.
I work in a Nursing home, part tme in the alzheimers unit.. I like it and find it rewarding.. though sometimes it can be quite difficult.
Hoping to become a regular member of this community.. thanks for recommending it.

Good timing, too, we just got moved to a new server this morning!

Personally, I'm not much for chatrooms, I can't keep up with the pace thanks to my MS. We don't have scheduled chats but keep an eye on the rooms, people pop in and out of there all the time.

Have a look around and let us know if we can assist you with anything. :)

I always find it so much easier to deal with lifes ups and downs when I know that I can be accepted and not judged for my feelings etc.

I can't use the chatrooms anymore because my visual problems have gotten worse. Those chatrooms were really a lifesaver back then, huh? So many flavors to choose from. :p

Well something good must have happened, or I'm online at a different time than usual, because I've never seen so many people in the chat room at one time before. 20 people logged in. How special is that? I must go see what everyone's talking about. :D

My computer shut down just as I was trying to get in, then DH came home and we had some chores to do so I've only just got back on line.

Do you mean there weren't 20 people in there?

Ok I went in and either no one was chatting or everyone stopeed talking when I came in :eek:

If any of you tried cuz you saw lots of names (or even if you just saw that there were alot, by looking above). It wasn't quite true. Evidently some ppl were in (maybe at different times) but they didn't sign out & their names stayed. Usually the names disappear in awhile, I think, if they are not talking. Most new ppl don't know they should sign out. Do you know how? Click on that red dot at the upper right, above the list of names. I was there most the night & the most at one time was 4 or 5. This was Thursday, 8/28

Good morning, was just in chat for a few min, and it was great to see some old faces or names from another time.
I used to go to mgh chitchat then advanced and then the braintalk hastypastry etc... never even knew these existed until a couple of days ago... not sure why, but am sure glad I found this place. Seem far more active than the braintalk ones ... though I am registered there and will go between both I imagine..
just nice to feel back home

Right now (Fri~4:55 EST) it says 2 but no one is there (no names to be seen there or down below)

The chat status indicator appears to be broken at the moment. It will be repaired sometime next week, but I can't give you a specific ETA yet. In the meantime, we will at least once a day go in and clear out the phantom users to try and keep the indicator accurate... sorry for the inconvenience.
