Visit to california -GET TOGETHER/ SUPPORT GROUP
 

hi all,
I am coming to So California in November. We are leaving to come to California Friday November 14 and leaving on the following tuesday.

We are coming to a family wedding on the 15th and we hope to have a visit on the 16th Sunday November. I hope as many as are able can come to the visit at Cyndy's place in Anaheim. She has generously said we could come to have the visit at her place THANKS CYNDY:D:D:D:D:D:D

I hope to see as many people as are able to come....even if it is in spirit!
lets see who is able to come......we think around 1-2 pm for start time!

Victoria coming out has given me a smile thats been searching to find a place on my face for some time now.
I am so excited to have EVERYONE & ANYONE who can join us for a day, a few minutes or a couple of hours.
I have a medium size home with 2 guest rooms.
We will have plenty of munchies, thirst quinchers, pillows, floor space, hot packs, cold packs, couches, beds, quiet places & best of all, YOUR company!

I can't promise I'll make it be cause there are so many thing that can go wrong now when I trial, I do not travel outof my littlearea. But for you guys, I"ll try. Plus, Steveknows how to make a cozy bed in the bac of ourSUV.

I am DYING to see my old friends and if they are new friends now -thenew friend. I have been posting because I got some serious condiitons going due to that diabetes....

I have to say I was thinking that there would be more people responding and wanting to come!! Am I out of the loop?? Cyn are you getting messages from people ??? How many are we at....I know planning is a difficult thing for us tosers so is it to early to tell who will and won't make it????

Finally, after a good talkin' to from my girlfriend we called 911 last week. Been getting much needed sleep & relaxation without being over medicated. And I CAN breathe!

You coming out gives me hope & a goal to get me back on track.

Have to say Victoria, I have only heard from Catherine. Thats it!
Shelley seems ready to hope on over.
I'm really disappointed too not hearing from everyone. :confused:

Don't get discouraged, maybe the others just aren't able to commit to anything yet.

perhaps a new call out that is not in the sticky note area..
 

I don't always check the sticky notes....I head straight for the other ones so perhaps we should have a thread started in the regular notes???

hey cyn, i responded to your email long ago....but haven't been on here in forever. I'll be there if at all possible.

been very busy, the little kids were from their school for the summer, and then our school arrangements got all screwed up and now i have them home with me quite a bit. leaves little time for much else, as i am darn worn out.

I'm so excited to have you all & welcome Victoria from Canada.

CALI weather has been sweltering 95 degrees until this weekend. It cooled down to 85 & now a balmy 75. So, if we have 95 weather we can swim, if we have cool, the fireplaces & outdoor firepit is ready. I'll keep you informed.

Anyone coming, bring something CHOCOLATE!

Totally scary!!
We came home early from Palos Verdes from seeing the grandkids' soccer games. A fire had started just over the hill down by the ocean which they contained & only burndt 10 acres. My Mom had called us by cell to let us know about the fires & updated. Driving home on the south side of the 91 fwy was bright sunny blue sky with plums of smoke veering overhead towards the ocean. When you looked to the left of the fwy it was BLACK just like night & day difference. 10 miles to the east of us is Yorba Linda & 2 miles north is Brea. You cant even breath outside at our house. So, we wont doing any partying outside tomorrow. Everything is covered with soot & the pool is a mess. We are in between both fires.

North of us in Brea on the hills we could see the flames whirling, the structures & hills burning as we were driving to Trader Joes. Old & New home developments up in the Brea Canyon. There was blue sky above us & no ash or smell. Really weird. The wind was blowing south west towards the beach. You drive 2 blocks & its totally black & sooty from the Yorb Linda fire. Looking to the east you see Yorba Linda's hills & homes on fire. Its so sad. Just devastating. And here I was just sick about the Santa Barbara/Montecito area. My daughter went to college at Westmont for a time. So we have many vivid memories about the area. So many gorgeous homes & estates.

And whats worse is Victoria, her beau & the bridal party are staying at a hotel in Brea. Closer to one of the fires. And the church wedding is being performed is in Corona where the fire originated in Yorba Linda. The only way to get there is the 91 fwy through the thick of things. She hadn't heard from anyone at the church. Told her to take her belongings with her & call me if they need me. Anyone was welcome. Haven't heard back from her. Welcome to California, Victoria.

Everyone say a lil' prayer for all the family's that have lost their home, lifetime of treasures or in danger.

WE ARE STILL ON FOR TOMORROW UNLESS THE WIND & FIRE SITUATION BECOMES MORE UNCONTROLLABLE & WE HAVE TO EVAC.

Olecyn.. I hope you are o.k. and Victoria is o.k..... Stay safe MF and everyone else out there !!!!!

Hi all,

I want to thank Cyndy and Phil from the bottom and top of my heart for their wonderful hosting of the tos get together.
Marc and I had a great time and it was so nice to see familiar faces again!!! It was a little more intimate this time as fewer people came but it may have been due to the fires in California. I have never been so close to a fire while here. We were almost evacuated from our hotel the wedding was at and had to change hotel from brea to lax hilton due to the smoke in our hotel room. It was really bad Sunday night. My heart goes out to all who are effected and who have lost homes and everything they own. I am awakened to a new way of life.

Anyhow the party was AWESOME Cyndy did way too much and cooked us a feast and boy was it great and so was desert!!! I had a great time and may have to make an excuse to come back another time to see everyone and Cyndy!! I wanna swim in your pool girl!!

It was my pleasure to have TOS friends at my home.
It gave me a well deserved opportunity for something to look forward to & get healthy.
I miss entertaining & it filled my heart with joy giving to my fellow TOSers with a place to share their optimistic views & new discoveries.

Even though there was a dozen who couldn't make it, we missed you. You would have LOVED this group & the food & champagne if I may say!! It was a FABulous day & night with friends who are quite smart, their willingness to share about TOS & it's compromising conditions. Not only do we have a medical condition bond, more importantly, a sincere friendship & respect of each others condition as well as their individual incredible strengths, intelligence & zest for life.

THANK YOU to Shelley, Johanna, Judy & of course Victoria & Marc for allowing me this opportunity to bring you into our home.

As always, my home is always open to anyone & so is my phone line.
