Do you drink tea? What kind(s)?

Stealing from Earl  and his coffee thread. :)

I love Peppermint herbal tea. I drink this in the evening generally. Or Vanilla tea (both Tetley).

I don't care for the non-herbal tea. Dehydrates me horribly it feels like.

What teas do you folks enjoy? :)

AfterMyNap 09-10-2008 02:05 PM

I used to love love love sweet tea but now even the thought just turns my stomach.

FinLady 09-10-2008 03:35 PM

I love green tea. :circlelove:

Peppermint tea is always on hand for upset tummies. Chamomile for relaxation when needed.

Desinie 09-10-2008 03:55 PM

I drink pretty much green tea. I usually don't drink hot tea though.

SandyC 09-10-2008 04:23 PM

I drink Crystal Light Green Tea with Raspberry. I used to be a sweet tea drinker but it made me gain weight.

dmplaura 09-10-2008 04:54 PM

A question about Green Tea (which is exceptionally popular now).

I've heard from some sources that Green Tea should be avoided by those with MS. I can't for the life of me remember the reasoning behind it. Anyone heard similar and know why?

SandyC 09-10-2008 06:06 PM

I never heard that but maybe because green tea boosts the immune system?

Momma's Kids 09-10-2008 09:15 PM

I drink cold sweet tea...but I love hot flavored teas...especially Peach. I just love hot tea, got razzed a lot about it in high school. A friend told everybody that I drank hot tea like old folks, that and being Apache ancestry...

I've heard it all...sitting in yer T-P sipping on yer hot T
Sharpenin up the tomahawk sittin in the TP drinking up the hot T...

Too bad it was against the law in this state to shoot an arrow in their ASSinine attitudes. lol

Abbie 09-10-2008 09:20 PM

I'm a Green tea drinker... hot or iced... straight up or with peach, mango, citrus, or lemon and honey.

mmmm... now I'm thirsty...
:D

I've heard the pros and cons. Some say that because it boosts the immune system, it's not good for us. But I've also heard it boosts energy levels for us and gives us a good source of anti oxidants as well.

Meanwhile, it's one of the few teas that my neuro says is ok for me to drink. Kinda like coffee - the on again, off again, is it good for us question.

dmplaura 09-11-2008 10:03 AM

I quit coffee for a month at my dentist's suggestion.

Let's just say... I was much better as a coffee drinker than a non-coffee drinker LOL!

Jules A 09-11-2008 01:16 PM

I drink tea also. Don't laugh but I get mine at the dollar store or Whole Foods and there is one brand at the dollar store that is my absolute favorite.

I wouldn't laugh at you for this. I think it's very smart. I love when I can find a bargain on something I like!

Momma's Kids 09-11-2008 11:17 PM

Dollar store...Dollar Tree...hey, my favorite places...they have the best scrapbooking supplies. I find coffee and tea for less than the grocery stores and its the same brand most times.

I regress, sorry...my family calls me the Dollar Queen!! They didn't laugh when I paid for the vacation...guess those dollars saved!!

Jules...you are a very smart shopper!!

Teas...I also love rasberry, mango, lemon...

In the Summer, I love either green tea or sweet tea..In the Winter, chai mostly.

msarkie 09-12-2008 09:38 AM

I was raised on iced sweet tea, but my yankee husband converted me to unsweetened. Now my mom's tea tastes like syrup! In the summer I make regular iced tea and add one tea bag of Peach Passion as I brew - it makes yummy unsweetened peach tea! In cooler weather, I like a cuppa in the afternoon. I've always wanted to experience an English high tea. I drink Twining's English Breakfast tea, Earl Grey, or Lady Grey.

braingonebad 09-12-2008 12:28 PM

I grow my own chamomille and mint. I also like green, white, Hazelnut & Vanilla and cinnamon. I only do suntea in the summer.

We would tear up the bargins if we ever went shopping together, lol.

There is a Dollar Tree in New Jersey just off the Turnpike that I always hit when I'm coming back from NYC. It is huge, really well merchandises and has the most incredible stuff. Our local ones aren't nearly as nice.

soxmom 09-12-2008 01:27 PM

I have for at least the last 26 years drank about 7 teabags(usually lipton)
a day. I brew them and drink them iced with no lemon or sugar(some
times lemon). I alternate it with water during the day. I only drink coffee
in a.m., usually two cups.:) I drink my tea iced in the winter.

I used to drink hot tension tamer in the eve but felt it really didnt
tame my tension.:o

Dejibo 09-12-2008 04:40 PM

I grew up in the south on Sweet Tea. The house wine of the south. I love love love this stuff. Its so rare to see it here in the NE, and normally when you do, its done badly. When I go home to visit, I get my fill, and run around like a mad woman...zip zip zoom!

I love Vanilla Chai tea by Oregan Trail. The powder stuff is great. I also have a Tassimo coffee maker, that makes pretty good chai tea.

i dont drink coffee. I never have. I never liked the flavor, and just never got hooked on it. I like coffee ice cream or coffee candy.

I wonder why they dont have tea ice cream or tea candy.

I wonder if Ben and Jerry would take my suggestion.

Write them and ask! :D

I can't have dairy products, but I love vanilla ANYTHING. It's such a calming taste and scent for me. So Good Vanilla ice cream (soy) is my personal heaven.

Hmmmm. You know that hard candy everyone makes for Christmas with cairo syrup? You could do that with Chia tea powder (with or without vanilla)instead of those other awful flavors.

I'm gonna give that a whirl.

Who needs Ben and Jerry?
