I just heard from Sally and she wants everyone to know that
she is OK.

It seems that Mr. IKE has depeleted most of Ohio of their electric.

She has been without electric since 3 pm yesterday.

Will be in touch with us as soon as the electric comes back.

Let's send her some prayers that it will be soon and that she will
be all right.

I was so thrilled to hear from her, I wish it was for better reasons.
I have never spoken to her on the phone or anyone else from NT.

NT friends and buddies we have to send some good vibes to OHIO
for Sally and everyone else that has been effected by IKE.

I hate hurricanes (and ice storms and winter and hurricane season and cold weather and floods and...) The changes in the weather patterns have ME thinking about buying some plywood sheets for my 9'x5' windows now!

I'm glad Sally is okay. I hope here power is restored soon. We only lost our power for 3 hours. I'm grateful to be one of the lucky ones.

We just got our power back. Thankfully the temps have dropped, so no A/C hasn't been too bad.

There's still a lot of people without it though, a lot of storm damage around the central ohio area. The ETA for some areas has been for Sunday. Biggest problem is about 20% of the electric company's workforce has gone down to TX to help with the damage from Ike. So it may take time as they recall some of them back to Ohio.

Praying for Sally and others who are in this area. :grouphug:

Glad to hear Sally's doing OK, except for the nasty power issue. They're saying this has been the worst disaster in Ohio since the Blizzard of 1978. I know Sally doesn't live too far from me and we've been without power since 2 p.m. Sunday. Thank goodness for power at work so I can keep connected on the internet, plus I'm using the ladies restroom at work to get ready in the mornings. :)

We have a power line down in our backyard, spreading across three neighbors yards and quite a bit of tree damage and debris. We're hearing all sorts of wild estimates, anywhere from most power being restored by this weekend to mid-next week! I am so thankful we're having mild weather here and can survive without A/C right now.

Probably my biggest complaint - other than the fact I have no way to dry my yard long hair when I am able to wash it - is that drivers fail to understand the concept of four-way stops when traffic lights are out. I can't tell you how many times we've almost been hit by idiots blasting through the intersection!

This just in! Sappy gave me a buzz this afternoon, her scooter is starving, she's stuck with a corded phone and a manual wheelchair and still no power or internet.

Her fridge and freezer are holding their own but she's losing faith in what can be salvaged at this point. She is still at home and doing fine, but she bawled her head off because she misses us so much.:rolleyes:

She was heading for a nap but wanted us to know that she's hanging in there and her grown kids are seeing to her needs.

C'mon OH Power Company!

My family lives in eastern Ohio, and most of then are without power too. My mom is 80 and refuses to go stay with my sister and my brother in law because she wants to sleep in her own bed. Althought she is going over for a few hours tonight so she can watch Big Brother. LOL! She blames me for being addicte to it.:p They have been told that it will probably be Sunday before their power is back on.

Thanks for the report on Sally and the others in the flood zone!! Glad to hear everyone is okay except for the power issues. It's amazing how mch we take our utilities for granted -- until they're not working.

Any word on Sally? My mother's power is still not on. They are now saying it should be on by Saturday or Sunday. The Red Cross has opened up the high school gym where there is power for showers, and they are also handing out water, ice, and serving hot meals. I still can't believe Ike caused this much damage in Ohio.

Just thinking bout my favorite buckeye Sappy and hoping her power comes back soon. :hug:

I miss everyone here! :hug: At least I am fortunate enough to be able to get online a bit at work. Hopefully they'll get Sally and the rest of us up and running soon. I didn't realize just how much I used the internet to communicate with friends until we lost power for days.

We finally got power back at 6 p.m. last night after 5 days of darkness. I sure hope Sally is next on the list! :hug:

Hope our Sappy gets reconnected soon. We don't realize how awful it is to be w/o power, until it's off. I complain when a storm takes ours out for a couple of hours. I am thinking of our OH buds.

Barb~ Your Mother must be one tough cookie. I'm pretty impressed at her stamina for her age. Hope she continues to do well.

I'm guessing Sally's still without power as of Saturday a.m. This is infuriating. :mad:

Our local power company says 65,000 customers are still without power but they're saying they hope to have power restored by Sunday. Frankly, I'm not hopeful as each day the number of those with power restored is less and less. We were one of only 6,000 who got ours back Thursday. :( They said they restored 9,000 customers Friday.

For those still without power, I'm praying it comes back this weekend. Enough is enough. :hug:
