Updated - She Passed Her GED!!!!
Finally, DD18 took the last test (science) of her GED. She passed with flying colors. She now has her GED. Phew!
Not only did she pass, her percentile ranks on each test are in the 90's. Yeah!!! During recent years, they changed the GED test and apparently it is much harder than it used to be - in fact, a lot of the graduating seniors could not pass the test (60 something percent passed). Thank you all for your prayers. Now, it's finding a college for her.;) |
What great marks! GO DD! :) Thanks for the awesome news!
|
I am so happy for you Trish and really excited for DD. I'm sure the weight of the world is off your shoulders.
Wow!!! Not only did she pass but 90% percentile YAY! You must be sooooo proud. I can only Guess her confidence has probably soared. She'll find her niche, When she does, Look Out:D Tell her congrats from your board bud:p http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y24...mories/ged.jpg |

Tell her we said YAY!!!:yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:
Now tell her to get working on finding scholarships and grant money!:p :hug: to you too, Mom!!! Good job! |
Woo Hoo :partytime2:! Tell DD congrats from me :). My son has started out at community college and will transfer after he gets his associate's degree. It's much cheaper, he can stay at home, and the classes are small. IMO it's a great way to start out. It eases them into college. Start looking for scholarships, there are sooo many out there. You're are great mom, Trish :hug:. You should be proud of yourself and her :).

I'm sure if she hadn't have had your encouragement (that's what us Mom's call "threatening" these days!! :p) it would have been much harder for her. I know you're both happy that it's behind her now. :)

That's wonderful news! The sky's the limit now.
I love great news like this. YAH!!!!! |
Ya know Tkrik, I've been following your posts about your daughter. My oldest son dropped out of High School his senior year. I was worried at the time, but thought he had made the right decision for him. He went out west for a year with a friend, and when he came home he was ready to take his GED test. He found out how hard it was to get a good paying job without a high school diploma.
Long story short, he passed his GED , took some courses at the local community college, and once again realized class rooms were not his cup of tea. He is now a supervisor for the Dupont plant. He travels quite frequently for the company, has a home and family, and makes a better salary than his 2 brothers that both have college degrees. I always was supportive of his decisions, and THE SKY IS THE LIMIT is real!! Some people just march to a different drummer.May your daughters dreams come true!! Congrats!! |

That's wonderful news!
Trisha, I have a son and daughter who did not take high school seriously. One graduated from an alternative (last chance) high school. The other got her GED when she was 22. My DD with the GED went on to get her AAS. My son is curently attending night school taking the classes that complement the electrical apprenticeship that supports his family. Only 3 more semesters and he will have his electrical journeyman's license. Woohoo! And he is pulling straight A's! You're only a failure if you fail to continue trying. Your daughter is definitely a success! |
