Very First Tysabri Infusion Monday 9/22

Hi All,

I will have my first infusion on Monday at 11:30, I don't think they will get an I.V. in me but because of insurance reasons they have to try it at least, if they can't get the IV then I will have to get the "Port". SO, I don't know for sure if I will get the infusion. I am anxious to get started on a new therapy though.....I am still in a relapse with TM caused by my MS.

I have 3 lesions on my spine C-3, C-9 and T-1. The C-3 I think is still active because a LOT of issues of the relapse have calmed down but I still have a lot of arm, hands and upper body issues happining, I hope the Tysabri helps, wish me luck, I am a bit nervous..........

Thanks
Joe

Joe-

I wish you all the luck with the infusion. Everyone has such great things to say about Ty. If I were you, I think I would prefer a port. It is a nightmare for me whenever I need an IV.

Now for the important stuff, the Phillies and Eagles did great today. I am just happy they weren't playing Miami, that game was a shocker!

Take care Joe-

Cathy

Thanks all for the well wishes and prayers, I want a port but my neuro said they need to try it REGULAR one time first.........

YES, Cathy, the Eagles won it, and the Phillies are headed HOPEFULLY to the playoffs!!

:-)

Good luck Joe :). I'll be having my eighth infusion tomorrow and I haven't had a relapse since I started Ty :D.

How did it go, Joe? :)

JoeMac 09-22-2008 06:02 PM

Everything went GREAT, the IV nurse hit my vein on the first shot, I had the Tysabri with no side effects yet and it has been just about 6 hours since.....

I feel no better nor any worse but I didn't expect it to help on the first day.,LOL

But I am happy, everything went great, thanks for asking...:)

Thanks everybody for the well wishes also, I was nervous but now I am fine, I have my first infusion under my belt and now only about 300 some more to go............

Glad to hear all went well, Joe! :)

How are you feeling otherwise, from the TM attack? Things getting slightly better as you go along?

Cherie

JoeMac 09-23-2008 05:07 PM

Hi Cherie,

Thanks all went well with the Ty, but I am still having issues with that C-3 lesion, first I had attacks that effected both my arms, hands and upper body, now I have them but it is only like the right arm or the left arm and each of them come with upper chest numbness then at times I have it with BOTH arms and hands...........I think I am better though, it is a VERY slow process but I am sure you know that....

I also have cog fog and fatigue same as always.......Nothing else has popped up though so I am sure I m still on the mend and things are just slow in improving, it has been almost 3 months now, it is a nasty one huh?

Mentally I am ok until the snow hits us then I get seasonal depression so I am not looking forward to that.....

Thanks for keeping me going Cherie

:)
