tkrik 09-29-2008 01:42 PM

Huh? Finish? As in FINISH up the dam* dishes? lol

Vonn07 09-29-2008 01:44 PM

weegot5kiz 09-29-2008 01:45 PM

we used Finish eons ago for our dishwasher, thought they went belly up?

maybe they changed the finish name to Electrasol and now back sort of like the quick slick move by at&t, call it sbc they sell everything only to buy all the comps back and change name back to at&t

wee? or oui?

Why do companies feel the need to change the names of products entirely too much? :Bang-Head:

I am still struggling with the idea that "loading the dishwasher" doesn't mean getting my wife a 2nd glass of wine after dinner...

sabimax 09-29-2008 03:55 PM

If she reads this, I predict you will be loading the dishwasher (the actual appliance) AND getting your wife a second glass of wine after dinner....

That's what I thought too until I read Frank's post. I never knew there was a dishwashing detergent called Finish.

SandyC 09-30-2008 04:13 PM

Doesn't bother me.

I use Cascade. :D

Riverwild 09-30-2008 05:41 PM

:D I don't do dishes. I don't even load dishes into the dishwasher. I work. He doesn't. He does the cooking and the dishes. "Finish"...LMAO!

I do the shopping---and we use store brand.

Same here. I do cook on Sunday nights and special occasions, but I'm no longer in charge of the dishes. :D

And I think I figured out Why? they chose the name FINISH.

"Finish" has psychological undertones...

You're FINISHed with the job you don't like to do.

Your dishes have a lovely clean FINISH when you unload the dishwasher.

FINISH is an action verb. It might inspire you to get them FINISHed and out of the way in record time.

Any more??

weegot5kiz 09-30-2008 06:15 PM

no wizbethcathy, youve finished lol

AfterMyNap 09-30-2008 06:42 PM

I'm with you on that one, Wiz, to me it's a way to get the kids busy, "Just Finish the dishes before you go out, okay?" That sounds like mom already started them as a favor.;)

Well that's just stupid!

Twinkletoes 10-01-2008 01:21 AM

You sure it's an American brand? Maybe it's from Scandanavia. You know: Finnish.

Haven't seen the commercial, but I can imagine the dialogue must go something like:

"C'mon honey, help me clean up the dishes."

"Okay, sweetie, let's start with Finish."

I think Curious is right: shoulda been named Start, lol.

Desinie 10-01-2008 03:50 PM

It can be called Finish when it puts the dishes away for you too.
