Hi! I'm MSDave.....

I'm new around here, but not new to MS. I was diagnosed Jan 2nd 96. Happy New Year huh? I had one massive attack and it put me in the hospital. I determined right then and there that MS was not going to beat me, and have set on a course to fight back. I work with the V.A., on request, speaking to new patients and even doctors about MS and communicating with each other. I have talked at a local university a couple of times, and at a few MS conferances. On those occasions my concern is Pain Management and the way it is treated, or the lack of it.

Now I am going to try to be here as much as possible, but currently my house is being upgraded and this means I'll have to unplug and move my computer for a few days to protect it. Having said this, I'll be reading posts here and then if I can, I'll help out too. Thanks for letting me be a part of this!

Welcome MSDave, I am also Dave but go by Earl, (long story)

We have another newby named Dan that signed up a few days ago. Share your story and look around the place, you will surely like it here.

Beware of the nut-cases. there has been a large female presence but it looks like with you and Dan, the guy's may be taking over. YAHOO> let the party commence.

What great state do you live in? I am in Arizona, I am in my 14th year with this terrible disease.

Glad to have you here.

:)Yes, I used to run a board on MSN called MS information area. That was a few years ago though. I'm still a charter member of the disabilites meeting place over there as well. The manager there was the one that taught me how to set up and run a site, though it was nowhere near as nice as this one is.

Yes, there are a lot of us Daves out here. Again, I used to run the MS information area on MSN. Until that is, I had to go in to the hospital for a sudden valve replacement and had to stay there for 3 months recovering. By the time I got back to the site, most of 400 members were gone due to all the trouble makers that showed up. Can't blame them and sure wish they had had a system like the one in place here.

I figured a way round having to unplug and so am here more now. Now my only missions are to help try to answer questions and other things, as well as my other mission which is to teach and assist in teaching a home fellowship at my home. However, since both are passions of mine and everything else is prety much automated at present, it should take no less than a day or two max to get back to any questions posed. I'm not going to sit and wait either; I'm going to be surfing round the site seeing if I can add my 2 cents here and there, unless there is a reason I should not. Even then, I have a bad habit of bending the rules. :winky:

Hey Dave - wanna really confuse people here? Sign your posts

dave\o/

There was a Dave on another site who was constantly remodeling his house - lives in Florida a little north of Tampa. He's had MS since oh, I don't know, the early 90's I think. He's a carpenter or some such.

Of course, I'm gonna feel like a jerk if you're him...

Hello Dave and Welcome to NeuroTalk. Glad to have you w/us and look forward to seeing more posts from you.

Need help?? Just whistle!

MSDave 10-21-2008 09:57 PM

I am slowly getting the hang of posting and then keeping up on them, but am still a tad slow. I do want to thank everyone for the warm welcome I am getting. This is a really nich site.

In other news..... I just got word from a mentor/manager over on MSN. She sayd it has been confirmed that in Feb. MSN is closing all their Groups as some form of cost cutting. This means that all those people there are going to be out looking for a new home. Someone might want to pass that along to the management here as a way to explain any sudden influx.
