I am so glad to see you guys are still around. Gosh I wish I had found this months ago.

Stephen, I saw your post about the recipes from the "old" days, and boy we did have some good ones. Deb and I created havoc for awhile to make a certain person mad, so we posted recipes and jokes like crazy..LOL

Dana, How in the world have you been? I have missed talking to you.. So what is new with you?

Claudia, How about you? I've missed all of you. Stil spoiling the grandkids? LOL

Deb, I posted to you on the other site and didn't have a clue this one existed, but am glad I found it..

I know I am missing someone else but just can't think right now.. Damn CRS.. LOL

I can't remember the guy that used to write all of the reports on RSD or what he was researching.. something like that.. Do any of you remember who I am talking about? And the guy that was really depressed because after many years of marriage his wife had left him.. Gosh I hate memory loss..

Love all of you guys and have missed you but never forgotten you..

Love,
Janet Cherry

Hi Janet

Sorry to jump in but read you post. I remember you briefly. A long long time ago I used just marccus as my screen name but computer glitches caused me to come up with a new one.

The guy you are trying to remember is Vic. He is doing some other things right now at home but says he will be come on and will be with us soon. So glad you have come here. Welcome.

Chin Up!!

Mark :)

emilys gramma 11-06-2006 07:48 PM

hi janet....

wow, it has been a very long time.....good to see ya.......

like mark said, vicc is the research go to guy, but you are also talking of sam yamin..........he was from michigan too, and got rsd from a chain saw from his business.....he was always sending jokes, and tried to be upbeat, but he suffered with severe depression................one time i called the sheriff dept. of his city, and they found him in time........we have since lost all communications from him....altho we had tried for many many months.............jewells and i called and left many messeges with his phone.........but to no avail................
he was really upset when his wife left him.............i pray that he is still with us, and ok....i hope that he may one day find his way back to the boards and write to us................
other than that.....same old same old here.................emily is almost six....love of our lives................
i am doing ok with my rsd, still in pain, but at a tolerable stage.....
frank is not so lucky........he got hurt at work (again) and had left shoulder rotator cuff surgery........well, his rsd just went ballistic........now he is in major major pain, and unable to deny this monster any longer..........
welcome back.....hope to see more posting from ya...........

Hi Janet,

How the heck are you?

So glad that you decided to come home. Welcome Home, Janet Cherry, Welcome Home.

Dana

jcherry 11-07-2006 10:28 AM

Good Morning Everyone

It is so good to hear from all of you..

Marcus, I do remember you from the old board, a long, long, time ago.. LOL The way my memory is, I am surprised that I remember anyone..It's good to see you are still around here though..

Claudia, I really hate to hear about Frank. It seems to me that the only part of my body I hurt anymore is the RSD part. Is Frank getting help for his RSD now? I don't know how he went so long without getting any help, but some men just have to act tough..LOL My ex was one of the biggest babies when it came to pain..LOL I am glad that you are keeping your pain to a level you can deal with. I have learned that I either have to deal with it or let it get the best of me, and the latter will not happen.. :) Sam is who I was trying to think of. You know we used to email each other and then my pc was down for awhile and I just didn't care to fix it but then decided I would have it fixed and I lost his email addy, but he did email me last year and I never got the chance to answer him. I sure hope he is OK.. It sounds like Vic is still doing great work and I hope he comes back around soon. I would love to say Hi to him as well.

Dana, So how are you doing girlfriend? How are things in sunny Hawaii? I wish I was somewhere sunny today. It is so yucky looking out today but it is suppose to be 68 so it shouldn't be as cold as last week was. So are you still working? I have a terrific job that I love. I manage an Oil and Gas Company and for the past 6 weeks have had the place to myself. We have another office in West Arkansas and we are moving this office there. I just haven't had to move yet, so I have nothing to do all day but play around on the computer..LOL

Well I have to get me some coffee so I can get motivated this morning, and I am so glad to have found you all..

Love to all,
Janet

Dear Janet -

Treading as lightly as I can, are you saying that you were part of the group that worked with the mods to get Panacea and I believe someone else earlier on banned from the old board?

I wouldn't have asked, except for the fact that you seem to have raised the matter in your post.

Mike

jcherry 11-07-2006 03:18 PM

Mike, I was on the old board but to answer your question the answer is NO.. I don't guess I was on the board when either of those 2 people were there, because I don't know who they are. They must have joined after I stopped getting on my pc.

Most of the people when I was there all got along great.

I hope this answers your question..

:) Janet

P.S. The reason I brought it up with Stephen was that there was 1 or 2 people who got furious for anyone posting jokes or recipes, but it did help us think about something other than our pain..

fmichael 11-07-2006 03:20 PM

Okay, but who were you trying to anger in your postings of recipes and the like?

jcherry 11-07-2006 03:22 PM

You are so welcome and I hope to get to know you better.. ;)

We wasn't trying to anger anyone..We were just trying to talk about other things, as well as talking about RSD, just to try to not have to think about the pain all of the time. We shared reciped that were easy for people with RSD and not to have to stay in the kitchen for hours just to fix a meal for their families..

Condor 11-07-2006 03:45 PM

Hey Janet,
Nice hearing from you. A blast from the past. I remember those days well, we had a very good crew assembled to help us understand what was happening to our bodies and minds. Back in the day, 1999-2003 when the disease hit me like a rock, I really enjoyed coming to the site and visiting friends. I don't know if I should bring this up or not on the forum, but Dana still owes me a Pineapple from the old days. She made Pineapple promises that Hawaii could not keep. I still use some of those recipes that were posted. Gigglebabe and everyone contributed some tasty ones. Life is much better for me now. Time does heal some of the RSD problems. Deb and I have the house to ourselves now, the kids graduated college and moved out last June. I hope all is well for you.
Stephen

Joselita 11-07-2006 04:21 PM

Ok..Hold on a sec...too many "old boards" here...

Mike,
Let me help you out a little here.

Janet wasn't on the "old board" you are talking about. She was on the board previous to that one. The stuff she is talking about here is pretty much "ancient history".

Don't let it worry or upset you or anything. All old stuff, over and done with...water under (or over..whichever the case may be! LOL) the bridge.

Hope that helps unruffle any feathers that might have started getting a little bit fluffed up? ;) It's all good. No worries.

I also hope that you are having a good day today. The weather is pretty dark and deary down here in my part of the country. At least it is warmer than it has been...but with the weather changes going on, I am not too happy of a camper right now. I wish it was Summer already! LOL

Just thought that I would try to help shed a little light on all of this for you, my friend. :)

Take Care,
Jose

fmichael 11-07-2006 05:26 PM

Dear Jose -

Thank you for the clarification. I had just seen red when I saw the reference to sharing jokes and recipes in order to make a certain person mad, and the events surrounding the removal of Panacea came to mind. (The other person was before my time, but I had heard some talk round the campfire about how that went down.) So thank you, no offence was intended. Still it's good to open the windows and let the fresh air in now and again, and dry out any dank corners that may linger in our collective consciousness.

And speaking of the weather, I can report that Los Angeles County is sunny and dry, with expected highs this Election Day somewhere in the lower 90s.

Mike

buckwheat 11-07-2006 05:52 PM

Hi Everyone,
When I first joined Braintalk Panacea was the first one to reach out to me. I was told my a MD I was going to be in a wheelchair. She helped me alot. She educated alot on RSD.

I care about everyone here I REALLY DO. RSD is so ruff to deal with I just don't think anybody should be thrown off ever. I hope we all can just forgive. Big Hugs to Everyone. Love, Roz

Joselita 11-07-2006 06:27 PM

Roz,

Like I said to Mike..No worries, Sweetie. It's all good. We are all making a new start of things here. Don't want to throw anyone out, or run anyone off, or do anything like that here. I don't think that anyone will find any of that necessary...nor do I think that any of that will be tolerated.

Besides...this is a brand-spanking new place! :) Lots of room for EVERYONE! Right? It all good. Everyone has something to contribute. Be it lots of research (which I am not good at all...but do appreciate), recipes to help folks with short cuts in the kitchen to make cooking easier for folks with gimpy hands or legs that can't stand long, to jokes to make us laugh and lighten out loads and bring a smile to some otherwise dark and unsmiling faces, to blabbering nonsense posts by folks that just talk too much and too long because....well....that is what they do! ;) LOL

That is what makes this place what it is...all the different kinds of folks that are here, with all the different kings of things, and talents, that they bring. And, like I said...there is room for everyone. So, No worries! :) It's all good! (((Hugs)))

Mike...
ARGH!!!!!!!!!!! It is SUNNY??? And worse?? It is 90 degrees there??? OMG! I am so jealous! It is cloudy, and damp, and we actually got up to 63 today (Whoopee!) Compared to the lower 50's we had been (if that..BRRRR!).

I wanna be out where YOU are! Where it is SUNNY, and DRY...and WARM!

ROFL! Seriously though. Hearing stuff like that only makes my resolve to move back out West that much more...well...resolved! I am simply not built for any other climate, no matter how long I live in other wheres. I mean, you would think that after living here in AL for...hmmmm...let's see....24 years now, that I would have acclimated somewhat...wouldn't you? Nope! I can't stand the humidity, the constantly changing weather kills me, and these yucky damp cold winters just make my bones ache. :(

LOL, can you imagine if I had to live....I shudder at the thought....anywhere where it actually got....cold? YOWEEEE!!!

Well...enjoy the warmth for me. ;) You lucky dog, you!
Take Care...& Stay warm ( not that you will have problems with that! LOL)
Jose

jcherry 11-07-2006 07:07 PM

Stephen,
It's good to hear from you. I know how nice it is when the kids get grown and move off leaving all of the peace and quiet..LOL This is my youngest son's 2nd year in college so I have had the peace and quiet for awhile now. I do miss them, but enjoy the peace at the same time. He does come home about every weekend or at least every 2 weeks just to make mom cook him some good food..LOL Do your kids still live close by?

How is Deb? I hope she is well.. Did you ever find anything that would control your seizures? I sure hope so, as I know how scary they are. I do remember calling you and talking to you and was so glad I got the chance to do so. I sure hope things are a lot better now than back then..:)

You know you are right about Dana owing you a pineapple..LOL As a matter of fact I never got mine either..LOL We are going to have to refresh her memory..:D

I hope you have a good evening.. Great being here and getting to catch up with you.

(((((BIG HUGS))))
Janet

Hi. We haven't met so nice to meet you, sorry it's due to having RSD grrrrr, but anyway if you still have those recepie's maybe you should make up a book of easy recepie's for people who need super easy ones to make. I sure could use some of those *L* I don't cook much now days, but my hubby could use easy ones to whip up. And then again if I had some easy one I might cook more often.

Hi Janet,
Glad I stopped by for a visit with you. I really enjoyed reading your post. My health is very important to me so I tend to stay away from anywhere where there is negative energy. Tell everyone hi for me. I'll stop in again sometime.

himomdp 11-08-2006 02:27 AM

Gosh, I'm sure glad you all have good memories. I can't keep track of what happened last month! Er, well except the pineapples. Yes, I probably owe a pineapple or two. Well hey...look at my Avatar? Does that count? laffs.

The polls opened late, the print outs are late, and so it's going to be a long night. But it's almost a dead wringer that the democrats will be staying in power around here. Don't think I'll wait for our 2nd print out. It's will take til 11pm for that.

Aloha, Dana

jcherry 11-08-2006 02:29 PM

Hi Debby, Nice to meet you and I hope to get to know you better in the future.. I will sure try to get you some of those easier recipes. You know anything that can save time and help out with anyone especially someone with chronic pain, is a much welcomed thing.

Stephen, glad to see you stopped by and I hope you are having a great day.. I think Dana is trying to pass off the pineapple avitar for the real thing..LOL

Dana, no the avitar don't get it..LOL Sounds like you had a late night watching those polls too.. I was watching them at 5 a.m. and was disappointed on a few local races, but hey you can't win them all..LOL Hey are you still working? How is Joe? and your son? (I do remember his name but can't remember how to spell it so I'm not even going to try..LOL

Hi to Roz and Irie.. I hope I get to know both of you, and it is nice to meet everyone but as Debby said I wish it wasn't due to this monster..

Hope you all have a great day..

Love to all,
Janet

gigglebabe 11-28-2006 12:06 AM
